I Did It!!!!

I had a stall at a charity event last night and actually sold my cards....now I didn't sell as many as I hoped, but the event only had about one hour for people to sell, before and during the break the speaker took. I was asked for so many Mothers Day Cards, I should have mede some, as I would have made a killing, but with only a days notice I had no time to make specific cards. I did sell a few of the ones that just have lovely words on front and no mention of a specific event.

I even took photos of my stall, as I was really pleased with how it all looked. I received so many lovely compliments from people. Ironically the cards that sold very quickly were all my recent ones.....people LOVE the Miss Anya Girls and the Gorjuss Girls as all 4 cards I had with them sold out. I sold the Wedding card with The Greeting Farm "Cake Topper" set too....I think I could have sold more of those cards. I am also on a mission to make some animal cards, and cards with my Penny Black Girls....more grown up....so watch this space...anyway onto the pics...

One with me

Newsflash...LOL

I received a lovely email from Stefany of www.dreams2stamp.de saying how much she loved my "cute style" and would I like to be on her DT. Check out her shop, there are some really cute stamps in there, and I know she is working on some new designs. Cannot wait until my DT package arrives...very exciting.

After doing a sneaky blog hop while eating my lunch at work....I checked out The Greeting Farm Blog....http://splendidstamping.blogspot.com/ and I am happily scrolling down looking at the gorgeous card....and what do I see.....MY CARD.....I hadn't sent it to Marie, I just loaded it to the online gallery they have...so it was a complete surprise when I saw Miss Anya in her teal and chocolate colour scheme.

Today while at work I was also told about an evening tomorrow for women about looking good, with colour consults and helping you feel confident wearing the right colours and clothes. They are also having stalls selling and I was persuaded that I should have a stall selling my cards.....panic panis. After some persuading, and promises from those that persuaded me, that they would buy some....I emailed the organiser to see if I am too late....as it is tomorrow....arggghhh...so now I am just waiting to hear....very scary.

I am soo looking forward to finishing work so that I can go home and play with my new Miss Anya's and Gorjuss Girls.

My First Gorjuss Card

My new Gorjuss Girls collection 1 arrived yesterday....yay, and as their name suggests they really are GORJUSS....

Last night I saw Marlene's fabulous Scrap Online card...and it was so spooky as I had been colouring the same image....so I used the sketch and made my card....thanks Hun, can't read Tiets craft forum (it's in Dutch) but I had such fun using your card as a sketch....so mwahhhhh (big kisses).

For my card I have used one of the images (don't know the name), she has been coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Black Soot (Hair)
Fired Brick (Dress)
Black Soot/Fired Brick (Tights)
I have used papers by Basic Grey & PaperMania and also some Bazzill and Coredinations cardstock. I have also used Prima blossoms with added Stickles "Black Diamond" glitter, the coredinations was also run through the Cuttlebug with an embossing folder and sanded. The pearl brads are also PaperMania with some American Craft checked ribbon and black gems to finish off.

Here is a picture of the decorated inside.....I really love decorating the inside now, and haven't made a card without decorating inside since I saw how fab it made the card look and feel.

I have another stamp inked and ready for colouring...they are just so fab, and I cannot wait to see what collection 2 looks like.

Ismaki Challenge #008 of 2009 by Beatrix

My new Miss Anya collection arrived yesterday, and I just couldn't wait to ink these cuties up and make a card. I have used the lovely sketch over on the Ismaki Blog, provided by Beatrix.
The main image is Miss Anya collection from The Greeting Farm, and has been coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair/Boots/Skirt)
Broken China (Hairband/Top)
Fired Brick/Broken China (Handbag)
Weathered Wood (Shadow)
The papers are all by My Minds Eye and I have added Prima Blossoms and some Anita's ribbon, with a couple of pearl pins, the swirls were cut from SU Choc Chip cardstock cut with a QK Revolution using my Cuttlebug. I have finished off the card with a Magnolia frame for the sentiment which is by Printworks, and added Sakura clear glitter gel pen for sparkle.

And here is the decorated inside...

I always love taking part in the Ismaki Challenge...the sketches the DT come up with always lead to a card I am very pleased with. Thanks Beatrix for another stunner.

NEW St Patrick's Day Magnolia's

I have just found some sneaky peeks of the new St Patrick's Day Magnolia range. There are bout 8-10 stamps inc. sentiments....I saw them on http://www.rosesonpaper.com/ they say they will not have them for March 17th (St Paddy's Day) but they are in the USA...so postage takes longer....maybe we will see them before them. I really loved the one above as I would make a great "Good Luck" card.

**ETA - Although the website is in the US, these stamps will be in all the stores that carry Magnolia....this site is just showing pictures, and I wanted to show them off.....so keep checking your favourite online stores or local craft shops that carry this line.**

Happy First Birthday Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge Blog

Over on the Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge Blog we are celebrating our first birthday....and boy are there some fab prizes....and the more of you that take part...the more prizes we are going to have....

Here is what Annie says....
"Yes Tilda and Friends is one year old! At times I wondered if we could keep it going for so long, but I'm glad we stuck with it and I hope our second year will see more Tilda and Friends fans joining in the fun with us. So to celebrate we have pressents! We have cute dragon stamps from High Hopes kindly donated by our very own Fran, and take a look at her ATC to see one of them. The first stamp will be given away once we have over 5 people joining in the fun, then when we have over 10 another stamp and if we get over 20 players the third stamp! Now should we get over 30 players I have a Magnolia stamp in reserve. So for a chance at one of our presents all you have to do is make an ATC with the theme of Happy Birthday and link your creation in the comments section under this post."

So come on get creating and be in with a chance of winning those prizes.

For my ATC I have used my new hAnglar & stAnglar "New Year" images...I thought the glasses of champers were appropriate....I have coloured the images with ProMarkers. The background paper is a scrap of My Minds Eye "Magnolia" and I have also added a "Happy Birthday" banner. To make the banner I got a piece of brown string, and using my ATB tape writer to make each letter...then all I did was cut them out individually and attach over the string....I found the stick of the tape was enough to hold the string to the ATC....by some small miracle...

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Dawny's Sketch #9

This week over on Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog there is another lovely simple & elegant sketch by Dawny. I have coloured her with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair)
Broken China (Top)
Worn Lipstick (Skirt & Shoes)
Peeled Paint (Grass)
Dried Marigold/Spiced Marmalade (Flowers)
Weathered Wood (Sky)
The papers I used were more from the My Minds Eye pad that I shared with Marlene. I also added some Anita's ribbon, Prima blossoms, swirls cut using a QK Revolution die put through the Cuttlebug, a brad and spacer and some random bling. To finish off I have added some Sakura clear glitter gel pen to her hair and the flowers.

Here is a picture of the decorated inside...finally blogger has let me add them.

Thanks so Dawny and the lovely DT over on Papertake Weekly for another fab challenge.

A card using Marlene's Sketch

So, I was caught up with all the challenges that had inspired me to create this week, and just couldn't resisit colouring another of the Sherbert images that I stamped at Marlene's....and what better way to use one of them than to follow one of Marlene's own sketches. So for my card I have coloured the PollyCrafts Designs "Sherbert" image with distress inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair)
Broken China (Eyes)
Fired Brick & Spiced Marmalade mixed together (Dress)
Fired Brick (Shoes)
Antique Linen/Walnut Stain (Sign)
Peeled Paint (Grass)
Spiced Marmalade (Flowers)
The papers are all from the My Minds Eye Magnolia range and I have also used some Stampin' Up Choc Chip taffeta ribbon, Prima blossoms, 2 heart pins and a Making Memories "Love Letters" ticket. The swirls have been created with my QK Revolution "flourishes" die and finally I added some bling to the edge, Sakura clear glitter gel pen to her hair and Stickles "orange peel" to her wings.

Below is a close up of the main image...
The inside has also bee decorated with scraps of the same paper, and also with a sentiment by Penny Black.

Thanks Marlene, I always have fun following your sketches. (Hugs to you...missin' ya already).

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #39

Here is my card using this weeks sketch over on the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog. For the main image I have used a PollyCraft "Sherbert" that I stamped yesterday before I left Marlene's (thanks Babe). I have coloured "Sherbert" with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Scattered Straw/Dried Marigold/Spiced Marmalade (Hair)
Broken China (Eyes)
Broken China/Spiced Marmalade/Fired Brick (Dress)
Peeled Pain (Socks)
Spiced Marmalade (Shoes)
Peeled Paint/Fired Brick (Flowers & Grass)
Weathered Wood (Sky)
The papers are all by My Minds Eye "Magnolia - Serene" and came in a paper pad from The Range. Unlike normal MME papers, which are more like cardstock, these are paper weight. I have also used Prima Blossoms, Doodlebug sugar coated brads and a sentiment also from PollyCrafts. To finish off "Sherbert" has Sakura clear glitter gel pen in her hair and Stickles "Waterfall" on her wings.

Here is a closeup on the main image and flowers.

Finally here is a picture of the decorated insides, using the scraps up...well most of them.
Really enjoyed making this today..."Sherbert" was a dream to colour...so much so that I ended up ordering a couple of different ones..plus the sentiment. Pop over to Sketch Saturday and see what the DT came up with to inspire us...their cards are FAB.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 40 by Jacqueline of the Netherlands

This week over on Friday Sketchers there is a lovely simple sketch provided by Jacqueline from the Netherlands. For my card I have used the Stampin' Up set "Crazy for Cupcakes" and have coloured the image with Distress Inks. The papers are by My Minds Eye "Everyday Tango - Sherbert", and I have added flourished cut with my QK revolution die, flowers using an SU punch, layered with silicone glue between each layer to add dimension. For added sparkle I have added stickles to the top layer of the flower and bling to the corners of the card.

Here is a picture of the inside which has been decorated in a the same style with scraps of the papers, plus more swirls and flowers...and stickles.

I really enjoyed this sketch and found myself adding elements once the basic layout had been made. Thanks Jacqueline and the DT for your inspiration.

A Spoon Full of Sugar meets Cute Card Thursday

This card has been made using the sketch (rotated) provided over on A Spoon Full of Sugar, and the theme of "Signs of Spring" over on Cute Card Thursday. There are three images making up the scene, the background is my Whiff of Joy, and the girl is from The Greeting Farm " Rock the Farm" and the chicken is from the "McSplendid" set. All images have been coloured with Distress Inks. The papers have all been pinched from Marlene's scrap bag, and I believe they are by TLC (now known as ). I have also added some gorgeous velvet rik rac...again from Marlene's ribbon mountain, and I have cut some swirls with the QK revolution flourish die.
Here is a picture of the inside decorated with scraps left over...and finalluy below is a picture of the closeup of Anya.....isn't she a cutie patootie.

Ismaki Challenge #007 2009 by Manue

Finally I have finished my card using this weeks sketch over on the Ismaki Challenge Blog. This week the sketch has been provided by Manue and has the option to use Pink/Blue. For my card I have used one of The Greeting Farm stamp sets called "Cake Topper" for the main image and for the sentiment. Both images have been coloured with Distress Inks and I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to the brides hair. The papers are by Paper Mania "Simply Elegant", I have also used a Maya Road Velvet Blossom, some Kaiser Craft pearls, swirls cut using a Quickutz revolution flourish die and some gorgeous pleated ribbon...that I pinched (with permission) from Marlene's ribbon mountain.
Here is a picture of the inside decorated with lots of the leftover scraps......I think it really does finish off the card beautifully. I have also used a small section of the stamp in the corner to finish it off.....with more swirls.
Here is a closeup of the small image at the bottom on the inside.

Blog Candy Winner...

My Blog Candy has closed and the winner is.........

Please email me and let me know whether you have a DS and would like the skin....or whether you would prefer something else that is Gorjuss...
Thanks to everyone who took part. I will be having another Blog Candy in May as I will be celebrating my 3 Year Blogaversary.

Astronaut Ian Card

I have made this card for one of Georgia's school friends who's birthday is at the end of February
and will be SEVEN...now silly fool that I am I put EIGHT on the flippin' card....have changed it since the photo, so the recipient will never know...because I am pretty sure that 7 year old James will not be a reader/follower of my Blog.

I have used Astronaut Ian for the main image and coloured him with Distress Inks. The moon has been created using a piece of white card run through the Cuttlebug with the "spots & dots" embossing die. The background star paper is by PaperMania from a B&W paper pad and I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to the stars. The wording has been added using Making Memories mini alpha stickers and the number has been done with black bling gems.

Have spent a fun afternoon and evening with Marlene and am almost ready for bed. After much chatting I have eventually made a card, so will show you that either later or tomorrow. In the morning we are popping to her local craft shop and to The Range, as I have never been to either of them....will be loads of fun...then back to her craft room for more colouring and paper stroking.

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge "Shady Lady"

This week over on the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog the theme is "Shady Lady"....now as soon as I saw the words shady lady, I thought of Tilda laying under a tree....in the shade, making her a shady lady....

I have used three Magnolia stamps to make my ATC this week. The large oak tree, the bird from Tilda with Bird stamp, and also the Tilda laying down from the last Club Kit. The images have all been coloured with Distress Inks. The ATC is made entirely with Hot Pressed paper and Distress Inks....with a little ATB tape for the sentiment...which is actually the title of a poem.

We are also looking for a guest DT to join us in March, so if you are interested, come over a take part and just add that you are interested in being a guest DT.....you never know, it may be YOU!

Today Georgia and I are off to spend a couple of days with Marlene and her lovely family.....leaving David in peace for a few days....which I think will be a blessing as he is very busy this week....it always works out that way during a school holiday....David ends up not being able to take any time off to spend with us....but at least I will be busy playing in Marlene's craft room......YAY ME!....Marlene I promise to tidy up after myself......honest.
