Daring Cardmakers "Take Five"

This week on Daring Cardmakers the challenge is to use five of something on your card...five brads, five flowers...you get the idea. For my card I went with five different patterned papers....all from the DCWV "La Creme" stack. The main image is Butterfly Anya from The Greeting Farm, and I have coloured her with my Copics. The other elements I have used are flowers by Prima and Craft Fairy, spacer and PaperMania pearl brad, 2 pearl pins from The Range, a sentiment by Craftwork cards and my swirl punch by Quickutz, my oval scallop and scallop punches from Stampin' Up, and my Labels Two from Nestabilities.

On the inside I have used the same five papers plus a couple more of the blossoms....
I really enjoyed this challenge...even though I never intended to add a stamped image....I just changed my mind right at the end...LOL

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 62 "Bit o' Bling!"

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog we have a theme of "Bit o' Bling". We want to see sparkle on your cards. For my card I have used the new Matey stamp set from The Greeting Farm, coloured with Copics. The papers are a mixture of Karen Foster and Rusty Pickle. The treasure chest is a stamp I borrowed from Marlene and I think it is by Charmed Delectables...although I cannot be sure. I cut the lid off the treasure chest so that I could add the gems and pearls inside.

I have added this picture to show you the gems inside the treasure chest...

Come on over to the Blog and join in the fun...we have a prize and also a wonderful Guest DT..Sue...aka Susie Sunshine.

We had a fun day yesterday with Marlene and the Girls...although the day sped by far too quickly.

Today is a quieter day, but tomorrow we will be going to the circus...yay...never been to a circus before...

Also David took my laptop into the shop to be looked at and they think that there is a graphics card problem, and they are going to get all my pics and stuff off and save it to my backup hard drive...yay....so things are looking better...the lappy is sick rather than dead.

Two in One....

Finally here is my card using this weeks sketch over on Sketch Saturday, I have also combined it with the theme over on Daring CardMakers "wet wet wet".....I have been trying to load this card all day.....I have even managed to kill my laptop...yes my 18month old v expensive Vaio....and I hadn't backed up for ages.....I am very stressed, but David is trying to get it sorted for me...anyway back to the card...

I have used one of the Magnolia stamps from the Chasing Butterflies range, and coloured her with Copics. The papers are by Basic Grey "Ambrosia" and I have layered them with Coredinations cardstock. Then finally I added a sentiment that I made on the PC cut with Labels One Nestabilities and inked, some SU "Basic Gray" taffeta ribbon and some blossoms that are a mixture of Prima and Craft Fairy attached with a Doodlebug sugar coated brad and spacer.

I have also decorated the inside of the card with the scraps....

We have had a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend...well apart from my killing my Vaio...we have played in Georgia's new paddling pool, tidied the garden, painted the garden furniture, and also been doing some mosaic on a plant pot for the garden.

Tomorrow Georgia and I are planning to go and see the Hannah Montana Movie, and then on Wednesday we are off to spend the day with Marlene and her gorgeous girls.

The best bit is always time spent laughing with a friend.

We are also off to the Circus on Friday, and Georgia and I are also planning to go and see the Hannah Montana Movie.
Hope everyone has the lovely sunshine that we have, and that you are all out enjoying yourself.

Sadly David's Dad passed away this morning, so we are all filled with sadness today. My Father in Law was a kind sweet man, always there when you needed him, but never one to force himself or his opinions on anyone else. May is never a good month for us as we have lost so many loved ones in May over the years. With Georgia's 7th birthday next Saturday at least we have something to celebrate.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 59 "Happy Mail"

This week over on Cute Card Thursday we have a theme of "Happy Mail", we want you to create a card to cheer someone up, or make their day.

Cute Card Thursday received this email from Vikki, after reading this you might like to send your Happy Mail to one of the children at Post pals!

Hello, I read that you do card challenges and I wondered if you would consider doing a challenge with a twist. I run Post Pals, we feature seriously ill children (most have cancer or are going through transplants) and their siblings on our website http://www.postpals.co.uk/ and invite members of the public to log on from around the world and send a card to a child. The aim is to make the child smile, but we have found it also helps their self esteem and parents often open them with a child during a procedure to distract them.

At the moment we are helping 120 children but they aren't getting much post.

I was wondering if you would do a challenge, instead of people just scanning in their card for the theme but they actually make one for a Post Pal child and send it off. I can't begin to tell you how much receiving a card means when your ill and isolated.

Thank you,Vikki

ps)You can see a video about what we do here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l42sKtdPXrw

For my card I have used this weeks sketch over on Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog . The main image is a Miss Anya stamp and I have coloured with Copics. The papers are all WRMK "Tiffanys", swirls are a QK Revolution die and the flowers are a mix of Prima and Craft Fairy attached with a spacer and a WRMK matching brad..

Here is the inside...

And the back....

Sorry for the rushed post, Georgia's school are going on a walk to the woods and one of the parents forgot and they are short an adult......so I am cancelling worl today and off to the woods for a walk....

Be back after lunch to tidy this post up...LMAO.

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge "May Flowers"

This week over on the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog the theme is "May Flowers". Many of you may well have heard the saying "April showers bring May flowers"....and that was where the idea for the theme came from. I would like to say a huge "Thank You" to Hazel for being our Guest DT member in April, and also a welcome to Sue who is our Guest DT member for the whole of May....please check out their blogs and see what gorgeous ATC they have been making.

For my ATC I have used a couple of the new Chasing Butterflies range by Magnolia, and I have coloured them with my Copics. The backing paper is Basic Grey "Porcelain" and I chose the one with the roses all over it. Pretty simple this week....as a certain Dutch lady phone me last night and we were on the phone for OVER 2 hours....LOL

I am going to be selling my complete set of ProMarkers with wallets and a set of AquaMarkers....if anyone is interested please contact me by email...the link is to the right of this post.

Two Challenges in One!

This week has been a little crazy and I have been busy with other non crafting things....so have got behind with the challenges.....so a little combining is in order. This card has combined the challenge on the Basic Grey Challenge Blog to use Black, Grey and one other colour, and the sketch over on Sketch Saturday. For my main image I have used one of my favourite Miss Anya stamps anc coloured her with my new Copics.
The papers are Basic Grey "Ambrosia", so I have gone with a Black, Grey & Orange colour scheme. I have also used some Core-dinations cardstock for layering. I have used my Nesties to cut the circle and the scalloped circle, the flowers are a mixture of Prima and Craft Fairy that I have attached with spacers and PaperMania pearl brads, and intertwined is a spray of pearls that I got in the wedding section of HobbyCraft. To finish off I have added some Stampin' Up "Basic Gray" taffeta ribbon and some random orange sating ribbon from my stash, a sentiment by Craftwork Cards that I have inked the edge with chalk ink, and finally some black pearl bling.

I have also decorated the inside with the leftover scraps....as you can see below.
Thanks to the ladies over on Sketch Saturday and Basic Grey Challenges for the sketch, theme and their inspiration.
