Just Magnolia Week #24

Here is my card for this weeks colour combo challenge over on the Just Magnolia challenge blog. I have used Opps a Daisy Tilda and she has been coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E50/E51/E33
Clothing - R20/R21/R22
Spoon - C3/C5
Egg - Y17
The papers are all scraps of old Blonde Moments papers that are layered onto Bazzill cardstock. The image has been cut using my Nestabilities, and I have raised it up on 3D foam. The blossom is a "Belle Fleur" by Prima and I have added some random ribbon and bling from my stash, a heart pin by Making Memories, and some swirls punched with my EK Success punch. Finally I have added a sentiment by Craftwork Cards which I layered with my Stampin' Up punches and raised each layer on 3D foam.

I love this little Tilda, she reminds me of Georgia as she also drops things...or knocks them over....we call her Georgia tippy uppy....If there is a cup on a table, she can manage to knock it over...LOL

Thanks to the DT over on Just Magnolia...fab work as always, I had fun playing along with you this week.

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge - Punch It!

This week on the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog our theme is "Punch It!". We want to see you use punches on your ATC's. For mine I have used one of the Monster Stamps by Squiggle Stamps....you can buy it HERE. Both images have been coloured with Copics using either YG23 or V17 (I added eyelashes to make her a girl), with a little C1 on the white parts to highlight. The papers are Basic Grey "Eerie", and I have used my Stampin' Up notepaper punch to make it look like it was torn from a notepad. I have also used my Martha Stewart "Bat" punch to make the bats....they are made from Doodlebug Flocked cardstock and are lovely to touch. Finally I created the sentiment using my ATB Tape Writer.

This is the last week you will have a chance to be entered into the draw to win a gorgeous stamp by The Greeting Farm (that I donated), so be sure to pop over HERE and join us this week...

Be sure to pop back here tomorrow, as I will be giving someone the chance to win some Squiggle Stamps. I have the Christmas Elf Kit and also Snowflake Daisy.....plus some papers and bits...

Sketch Saturday #70

Here is a card I made last night using the sketch over on Sketch Saturday. I have used one of the Squiggle Stamps in my DT pack...she is called Snowflake Daisy and is available HERE. I have coloured here with my Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E00/E000/E11/R20
Hair - E37/E47/E49
Coat - R46
Ear Muffs/Scarf & Gloves - G09
The papers are all available HERE from Squiggle Stamps and are by Bo Bunny Press "Tis the Season", layered with some Bazzill and also some Provocraft cardstock. I have used my Martha Stewart "Arctic Snowflake" punch to create the snowflakes with Bazzill cardstock and then I added some DecoArt "Glamour Dust" to them, and also to the main image. To create the snowflake edge I used my new EK Success Border Punch, and finally I topped it all off with a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

Thanks to the DT over on Sketch Saturday for the fab sketch and their inspiration...you all rock!

I am still full of cold, but desperately trying to shake it before the weekend as I am away Scrapbooking with the ladies of the MKScrappers crop.

Ally Pally....

I had a fabulous time at the weekend with Marlene. On Friday Marlene and her youngest daughter Laurelle arrived just as we were getting home from school...perfect timing. We chatted and sat in my craft room and at 6pm we went off to Red Hot in the theatre district of Milton Keynes for a lovely dinner. Then it was back home for Strictly Come Dancing and afterwards back up to my room to get crafty. Marlene even managed to make a card in my room and coloured a second image ready to make into a card at home on Saturday night. Saturday we left just after 9am for the Big Stamp & Scrapbooking Show at Ally Pally, where we shopped and chatted and met up with Blogging friends. It really was an amazing, if somewhat exhausting day....but also perfect. I had the pleasure of meeting so many fellow bloggers... Jo, Chris, Kim Costello, Kim Dellow, Bev, Rach, Debby, Jacqui, Jo (BallooBear) and a special thanks to Claire for taking this picture.

From Left to Right.... Jo, Marlene, Chris, Kim, Kim & Me!

I also took this picture of Marlene on our way out of Ally Pally...happy, tired and all spent out...

Marlene took this photo of me on our way out too...

And finally the view of the city from Ally Pally....what a beautiful clear sky it was....a perfect Autumn day.

Now we can all start saving again for the NEC show in Birmingham, where hopefully we will all get to meet up again...plus meet a couple who were unable to get to Ally Pally.....missed ya DawnyP (mwahhh).

Crafty Angels Weekly Challenge - #3 Embossing

This week over on the Crafty Angels Blog our challenge is "Embossing". I couldn't resist making up a gift box with the Sizzix Bigz Die "Box #3". So I used some embossed cardstock to create the box and then added some of the Magnolia Papers (coming soon to Crafty Angels). I have decorated the box with a couple of Magnolia stamps from the Yummy Tummy collection (also coming soon to Crafty Angels). The images have been coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E50/E51/E31
Headscarf - E04
Clothes - E04/E93
Shoes - E77
Spoon - E57/R59
Label - E04/E93/R59/YG03

I have added some flowers from the Prima "E Line" range plus another Prima (Lisle multi) to the centre. I finally finished off the top with a Cuttlebug butterfly. The butterfly is from a set that has one cutting die and four embossing ones, and I then added some DecoArt "Diamond Dust" to the wings to make them sparkly.
Below is a picture from the side.....to which I also added some Stampin' Up choc chip taffeta ribbon tied in a bow.
I am loving this new Bigz Die, and think you will be seeing many more boxes from me over the coming months....I just won't be able to resist

Papertake Weekly - DawnyP's Sketch #24

The papers I have used are all Prima Marketing "The {You}th Collection" and I have layered them up with some cardstock from my stash...I think a mixture of Bazzill & DCWV. Cute Card Thursday "Buzz Off!"

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog we have a theme of "Buzz Off!". Now we don't want you to go away, we want you to use the colour combo of Black & Yellow. We are sponsored this week by Kathe of www.katzdesignz.blogspot.com/ . We are also joined by a new Guest DT Member....Carole of StarDust Gems and Ribbons.

Just as I was about to make my card this week, I was asked by a friend to make a card for a teen boy. Now we all know how hard male cards are...let alone teens. So I pulled out my trusty Darkroom Door stamps and set about making a music themed card. I have coloured the guitar with copics using Y17 & Y38 for the shading. The papers are Rusty Pickle "Pop Star" (you know the ones you can colour yourself) and I used some Bazzill Cardstock and some shimmery yellow cardstock that came in a really old Jenni Bowlin' kit, so I have no idea who the manufacturer is.
Now as boys don't like ribbons and gems (two of my favourites) I used a treble clef paperclip that I got from Staples and some string that I got in Ikea.

Overall I am pleased with the results and I just hope the person who asked me to make it likes it too.

I am so looking forward to the weekend as I am off to Ally Pally with Marlene for some stash therapy....like I need more really. There are a few things I am hoping to get, but I am trying to keep the list short...although I have already placed an order for collection with ScrapShed....but that doesn't count in my spending money...right!!!! This will also be the first time Marlene has seen me crafting back in my craft room, and although the room still needs more sorting, I am much happier crafting back upstairs. David has also agreed to get Sky Multiroom so that I can have it in my Craft Room as I like to have the TV on in the background.

Anyway, back to this weeks challenge...be sure to check out the rest of the DT's cards for inspiration. I don't think any of us have used the same manufacturer.

Crafty Angels Weekly Challenge - #2 Die-Cuts & Punches

This week over on the Crafty Angels blog it was my turn to host the challenge. I decided to go for diecuts & punches.

I have coloured the Magnolia Elephant with my Copics using the following colours...C1/C3 & C5. The papers are K&Co Blue Awning here and here and the cardstock is by Core-dinations. I used my Nestabilities to cut the yellow patterned paper layers....I used Labels One, Labels Two and Labels Four. The sentiment stamps is also by Magnolia and called Ton of Love. The only bits I have added that weren't in my kit were a large blossom that I got in a pound shop ages ago, and the black letter stickers that I added to the sentiment to read "We have a TON of love for you". I used some Ikea string for the hanging part and made the ends look like an Elephants tail (well I hope/think they do), and some ribbon from my kit.The swirls were cut using an EK Success punch, and the note card effect was done with my Stampin' Up! punch.

We hope you will come on over and join us....there is the chance to win a monthly prize for all that join us.....so pop over and take a look HERE.

Sketch Saturday #68

Here is a card I made last night using my new Dreams2Stamp DT parcel and also the sketch over on Sketch Saturday. This stamps is called "Lucky Cat" and is one of my favourites of the new fall release. It reminds me of some plush toys I have from Japan (Pooh dressed in a Lucky Cat costume....I think I have about four or five of them in different colours). I have coloured the cat with my Copics using the following colours...

On top of that I have added the "Congratulations" sentiment by Craftwork Cards which I inked the edges of to match, and I mounted it onto 3D foam....as is the main image part. The only other thing I have used on this simple card is a Doodlebug sugar coated brad. The sketch had some embellishments going up the left hand side, but as my papers have flowers going up there, I decided to leave them off.

Thanks to the ladies over on Sketch Saturday for another fab sketch and more amazing inspiration.

Be sure to also check out all the new releases over on Dreams2Stamp.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 78 - Hidden Treasure!

This week on Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog our theme is "Hidden Treasure". We want to see you hide an element/gift on your card or project. For my card I have used a cute bear from Lili of the Valley stamps that I stamped while visiting Marlene last weekend (will be buying myself the stamps at Ally Pally on the 26th). The image has been coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Bear - E51/E53
Hat - R46
Gift - R46/BG18
Shadow - C1
The papers are all Bo Bunny Press "'Tis the Season" and I have added some Bazzill cardstock for matting. The main image has been raised on 3D foam pads and the sentiment is on a double layer to create some dimension...and also to allow the velvet ribbon to run under the image. The lush velvet ribbon was from my stash and the cute snowflake charm was from The Hobby House....I have also used my Martha Stewart "Icicle" border punch just under the ribbon. The sentiment was made using my new Stampin Up "Cute & Curly" set with the matching punch, that I got on eBay USA. I finished off my card with bling from my stash and also by adding white Liquid Pearls to the fur on the hat of the image. The hidden element of my card can be see in the photo below...
My card also works with this weeks theme over on the Papertake (or as they are calling it this week...Paperfake) Weekly Challenge Blog, as they want to see fake elements on your card....I have use a punch to make a ribbon of icicles and also the liquid pearls create a faux fur element on the hat.

I adore these papers, and they are on my shopping list to buy at Ally Pally, as I have used all of the ones I received in a DT kit.

Anyone for Anya? - Week 4 "Pink, White & ?"

This week on the Anyone for Anya? challenge blog our theme is Pink & White +1 (other colour). We are sponsored again this week by Tracy @ DiestoDiefor, she has donated a "Superstar Anya" stamp as this weeks prize.

So on to my card, I have used one of the brand new Wild Sprouts and she is called "Savannah", I have coloured her with my Copics using the following colours....

Hair - W1/W3/W5/W7

The papers are quite old, but I loved them when I saw Jane Dean use them, and I bought them, and used them and loved them ever since. They are by Creative Imaginations from the "Christine Adolph" collection. They are all foiled and gorgeous. I have also added some Anita's teal satin ribbon, and some Prima Swirls which I cut to fit. The image has been matted and layered using my Nestabilities cut through my Big Shot, and I finished off the card with a sentiment by Craftwork Cards layered with my SU oval and scalloped oval punch. Below is a picture of the inside decorated with more of the gorgeous papers...
Yesterday after Georgia's swimming lesson (which she did brilliantly at, after all our swimming in the holidays) we drove up to see Marlene and the family...plus the new addition...super cute Ollie....OMG he is gorgeous and soft, and such a cutie. For only the second time since we have been friends, have I visited when the sun was shining, so we enjoyed sitting outside during the day and having a wonderful dinner prepared by Marlene's hubby, outside in the evening. Of course a trip to Marlene's is not complete unless you go to The Range....so we did. I found us the MME Christmas pads...and while shopping the funniest thing happened. There was a Do Crafts Demo just finishing and as I was walking around the aisles a lady stopped and asked me if I had a blog.....of course I said "yes", and she said is it "Blogocks".....you will never guess, but I was recognised from my photo above....LOL. So a big !"Hi" to Emma (waves to Emma), it was lovely to meet and chat with you, and I hope your drive up to the Craft Show for "research" hasn't tired you too much.

Today we are having a quite day, I have to help Georgia with her spelling and her Numeracy homework and also some reading, plus do a little ironing and also hoovering....then I can craft some too.

Hope you all have a fab Sunday, and don't forget to check out the Anyone for Anya? Blog and join in with this weeks challenge.

***ETA - For all you Anya fans, check out the Club Anya Blog as they have been showing the new stamps coming on Tuesday.....My Guy Ian...a set of 2 different stamps with some sentiments...plus 80's Anya and a Girl Scout Anya, and Boy Scout Ian....cannot wait for Tuesday***
