Cute Card Thursday - Celebrations!

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog we are celebrating our Two Year Blogaversary, so we want to see your "celebration" cards....it can be birthdays, anniversaries, friendship, weddings, basically anything you like to celebrate!

For my card I have used a High Hopes Stamp called "Cherry Chip Chimp available HERE from Dies to Die For, he has been coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Chimp - E30/E31/E25/E27/R01
Cupcake - E47/E49/Y00/V12/V15/YG03
Cherry - R59/E31
Shadow - W1/W2
The papers are all My Minds Eye "Penny Lane" from a stack available HERE fom Dies to Die For. I have embellished with some Anita's teal ribbon, some pearl bling, a couple of heart pins available HERE from Creative Treasures, a small piece of Stampin' Up Choc Chip Taffeta, an American Craft "Puffy Thicker" for the number 2, and a sentiment by Craftwork Cards. I have also added some Sakura Stardust Clear Glitter Gel Pen and also the papers are all glittery, so I have also entered the card into the challenge on the High Hopes Challenge Blog.

It's hard to believe that it's been two years already, I remember when it started, there were so few challenge blogs out there...in fact many are not around anymore. Although I only joined the team a little under a year ago, it feels like I have been with them since the beginning having joined in with so many of those early challenges. So be sure to pop over and join in with our challenge....you never know you may win the $25 gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp.

High Hopes Challenge 55 - Sketch by Jeanette

Here is a card I made using this weeks sketch over on the High Hopes blog. I have used the Santa stamp that I coloured using Copics. The papers are some left over Blonde Moments papers that I found. I have added some Prima Poinsetta flowers with Stickles in the centre, I also used my EK success punch to make the swirls and finally added a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

This is Christmas card number 36...not sure how many more I can make before the weekend (this is my deadline so that I can write them and post them on the weekend).

High Hopes Challenge 54- Santa!

This week over on the High Hopes Blog the theme is Santa. So for my card I have used my cute HH Santa head stamp coloured with Copics and added Flower Soft in Polar White for the fur. The papers are October Afternoon "Good Cheer" which I have layered with Bazzill cardstock. I have also used a piece of DCWV cardstock that I put through my Big Shot with a Cuttlebug 5x7 embossing folder called "Christmas Countdown", which I have then sanded and then highlighted the "25" by adding Doodlebug sugar coated glitter. To finish off I have added a poinsetta that I got from Bee Crafty at the NEC earlier this month, a star pin by Making Memories, ribbon by KI Memories and a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

I woke up this morning feeling yuk with a horrid sore throat, so fingers crossed a quiet day at home/in my craft room will make me feel better.

High Hopes Challenge 52 - Sketch by Lacey

This week over on the High Hopes Blog there is a fab sketch provided by Lacey. As I had already been playing with the Large Stacking Santa I decided to take the sketch and stretch it into an A5 card. I have coloured the Santas with my Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Beard - C1
Costume - R46/C5/C7/C9

The papers are all My Minds Eye "Winter Wonderland" and have been layered with some Bazzil Lustre cardstock and DCWV cardstock. All I have added to this one in the way of embellishments is some snowflakes created with my Martha Stewart punch, some bling and a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

I think I have about 22 Christmas Cards made now....but I need to make more....last year I made about 60...all unique....and I am aiming for the same again.

Crafty Angels Weekly Challenge - Sketch by Kate

This week over on the Crafty Angels Weekly Challenge Blog there is a lovely sketch provided by Kate.

I made a card...and then realised I had made it with papers and stamps that are not available to buy from Crafty Angels....so I made another one with items that they stocked...LOL

The papers are all MME Winter Wonderland paper pad and I have layered them with some pink cardstock from my stash. I have also used a Cuttlebug embossing folder called Sledding, Karen Foster Sparkle Burst Brads. I have also used some ribbons and pearls from my stash and punched a Penny Black sentiment out with my Woodware tag punch.

As you can see in the card below, the sketch is the same but I used October Afternoon "Good Cheer" papers, High Hopes stamp for the main image, twill and pearls from my stash, a Martha Stewart punch to cut the snowflakes and finally a Craftwork cards sentiment. This card also follows the challenge over on the High Hopes Challenge Blog.
Be sure to come on over and join us this week....the store has the new Magnolia 2009 Xmas collection and some of the papers....loads of lush new stash....

Magnolia v Stampavie Week 5 "Follow the Sketch"

Here is a quick card I nade last night using the sketch over on Magnolia v Stampavie. So on first glance you may be thinking "Hey...he is by High Hopes"...and you would of course be correct.....however I have used a Magnolia sentiment....so I believe I am covered. This was a quick one as I was so busy last night trying to get through my "To Do" list. So back to the card, I coloured Santa with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Ruby (Santa Hat)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
Ice Grey 1(Highlights on hat & beard)
The papers are K&Co "Peppermint Twist" & KI Memories "Holiday Collection 2006". I have used my nestabilities to cut the circle and scalloped circle for Santa, Magnolia "Santa is Coming" stamp for part of the sentiment, and I have finished off with 3 gems and some Bazzill tulle (can you tell I love this stuff...the bows always look so fab!). I also used another sentiment stamp, the "Ho Ho Ho" is part of a clear set by Hampton Arts.

Last night I managed to clear one of the jobs from my "To Do" list...they 30 keyrings for the School Christmas Bazaar are all packaged ready to be sold. I also made 3 of the little gifts that I am hoping to sell there, so now I am up to 5 sets made. I don't intend to make hundreds.....maybe just 25....time permitting.

I have stayed off work today as my chest is feeling terrible...I really am concerned that if I don't take care of myself I will end up with Pneumonia again....and I don't want that on the run up/during the holidays.

Hope everyone is having a fab day, preparing for the holidays etc.

High Hopes Challenge #4 "Anything But!"

This week over on the High Hopes Blog we have been challenged to make "Anything but!"....a card. So I made a little gift parcel which contains some crayons for my Newphew. I have used the new Baby Dragon stamp and coloured it wth ProMarkers using the following colours...

Moss/Marsh Green/Olive Green(Dragon)
Cornflower (Dummy/Pacifier)
The papers are all Basic Grey "Archaic" and the ribbon is Choc Chip Taffeta by Stampin' Up. I made the tag by using a 1.5inch circle punch and then the Stampin' Up Scalloped Circle Punch.

This is a very simple project, but much nicer than just handing over a pack of crayons.

High Hopes Challenge #2

This week over on the High Hopes Rubber Stamps Blog the challenge was to use Blue/Green/Brown and any neutrals. For my card I have used an image given to me by a friend. I have coloured it using ProMarkers and I believe the colours were (forgive me...I coloured it weeks ago...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Apricot/Gold (Hair)
Grass (Grass & Leaves)
Lime Green (Hat)
Apple (Top)
Sky Blue (Jeans)
Gold/Pastel Yellow (Flowers)

The papers are both my My Mind's Eye and were part of my September ScrapaGoGo kit. The metal "Friends" sentiment was given to me, but for the life of me I cannot remember by who. The sentiment stamp is by PrintWorks, ribbon by SU, and flowers by Prima. I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to her hair and Stickles to the Prima flower.

Thanks to the High Hopes DT for the challenge and as always for their inspiration.
