For a Man in your life....
As most Men don't seem to appreciate the fussy cards, I made something using just papers, cardstock and a sentiment....so pretty simple for me.
I have used papers from the My Minds Eye Kate & Co Oxford Lane paper pad, and also cut one of the sheets that had sentiment type things on, to add the specs. The tie was cut by hand using a tie on one of the pieces of paper as a guide/idea of shape...I then finished off with a quick Craftwork Cards sentiment...
Over the weekend I have a Home Decor item I made using a little wooden tray that came in an old QVC kit I got donkeys years ago...the kit is long gone/given away....but I kept the little wooden embellishment tray....

Lili of the Valley - DawnyP's Sketch
This week over on the Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog we have so much going on. First as these super cute stamps are growing in popularity we have extended the DT to include three fab international designers, Dena, Lena Katrine & Kathy. Next we have been sponsored by Paul & Siri at Wild Orchid Crafts...and you know how much I adore their flowers...amazing value for fabulous flowers.
So this week Dawny has been kind enough to provide us all with a gorgeous sketch. For my card I decided to use the "By the River" image which I have coloured with Copics (available from Dies to Die For...HERE) using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E44/E47/E49
Clothing - R29/B21/B23
Scene - E57/B000/B32/G12/G14
The papers are all Papermania "Hampstead", and I have added some raffis, the flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment is by Inkadinkado Kids Quotes...which Tracy @ Dies to Die For has on order...I will let you know as soon as she has received them.
Be sure to pop on over to the Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog to see what amazing creations the rest of the DT came up with...they are truly breathtaking.

Cute Card Thursday - Boyz to Men!
This week over on the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog our theme is Boyz to Men! We want to see your cards for the Men, or Boys in your life. This week I made two cards...one for a boy and one for a young man.
For the first card I have used an image by hAnglar & stAnglar and coloured him with Copics (available HERE from Tracy @ Dies to Die For) using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E44/E47/E49
Clothing - B93/B95/B97/BG72/BG78/C0/C1/C2/C3/C5/E44
Skateboard - C3/C5/C7/BG78
The papers are all Pink Paislee "Bayberry Cottage" and I have added some tickets that I made with my Tim Holtz die and Autumn Leaves stamps, and a few buttons and brads from my stash. I have also used the sketch over on Sketch Saturday.
For this card I have used one of the Mikey digi images from Charmed Cards and Crafts, he has also been coloured with Copics...but I forgot to write down all the numbers for you....and I cannot remember them.
The papers are also by Pink Paislee this time from the "365 Degrees". I have just added a sentiment by Craftwork Cards (available HERE from Creative Treasures) and a few brads from my stash. This card also uses the DawnyP's sketch over on Papertake Weekly.
Be sure to check out all three challenge blog to see what the respective DT's have done with the challenges.Saturday, March 27, 2010
Club Anya & Friends Announcement and First Day of Previews...
If you have come here via the Club Anya & Friends Blog you will know that I have just been announced as the April Guest Designer...boy has it been hard keeping that under my hat.
Today is the first of the April release previews....Eric is one of the Wild Sprout line....he is so cute, and I adored colouring his hair. It is also Saturday...so Sketchy Saturday, and I have used the sketch on this card...
For my card I have coloured Eric using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E44/E47/E49
Clothing - W3/W5/W7/E37
Shoes - W7/W9
The papers are DCWV "Rockstar" and I have layered them with some black Bazzill cardstock. To create the effect of ribbon (which I don't use on male cards) I used some Tim Holtz "Adage" tickets and attached them with staples and wrapped some string around (thanks Leann it came off the pressie you sent me!) to which I added a "dream" charm. I also added a foiled circle sentiment by Craftwork Cards. I then got even more carried away and added more staples to the corners of the card.
I am so excited to be part of the CA&F team and hope my month doesn't pass too quickly....don't you just adore Eric....I think he might be my favourite of the male Wild Sprouts....just for his hair...LOL Be sure to come back tomorrow to see my Anyone for Anya? card and also on Monday for the second of this months previews...this time a female Wild Sprout....anyway I have to dash as I am the official photographer at a small wedding this morning....I am a little excited and nervous and have some small butterflies in my tummy...

The papers are all Basic Grey "Granola"...I love that pad, one of my all time favourites, and now it is just about used up, think I need another one...LOL I have layered the papers with some Bazzill cardstock. Crafty Angels Weekly Challenge - What Colour Are You?

Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E47
Shoes - BG18
The papers that I have used as Rusty Pickle "Pop Star" which I have coloured in places with the BG18 Copic, and then layered them with some Core-dinations cardstock. The fabby sentiment is by Inkadinkado, and I love how it fills the white space on the image. I then punched a few stars with my Stampin' Up punch and added a couple of screw head brads to finish.

Kraftin' Kimmie's Birthday Challenge...

Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E47
Top Hat - W3/W5/W7/W9
Suit - W3/W5/W7/W9/B000/B00
I created the watch background with my new Hero Arts cling stamp....boy is it a big stamp...couldn't find a block big enough..LOL. Apart from the stamps I have just used some black Bazzill cardstock and some Stampin' Up cardstock in Bashful Blue. I added some Stampin' Up "Basic Gray" taffeta and a clock charm. The sentiment is also by Kraftin' Kimmie. I really love how this has turned out....it's always so hard making cards for older males.
So a big "Happy Birthday Kimmie", and thank you for the chance of winning fab candy.

TGF Sketches
I have been busily following the sketches over on The Greeting Farm....all 12 of them. So far I have completed 10 of 12...just 2 more to finish today...
So here are a couple of them...
For this sketch I have used one of the digi images and flipped him so that I could create a card that looked like they were fighting each other. I have coloured the images with Copics and used the new Basic Grey "Origins" papers with just the addition of four brads and a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.
Sketch #6
For this card I have also used Digi Autumn Ian coloured with Copics. The papers are all Basic Grey "Archaic" and again as it is a male card I have just added four brads and a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.
I have more of my cards I made with the sketches to show tomorrow...
So here are a couple of them...

Male Magnolia Card

So the card is using Cool Edwin, Brickwall & Graffiti "Happy Birthday" all by Magnolia. The papers are Rhonna Farrer "Graffiti". I coloured the images with Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps. Again I used the masking technique to put Edwin in front of the brickwall. I have been asked to do a step by step tutorial on this technique, but I am not sure how many people would be interested, so if this is something you would like explained better, with a few pictures then leave me a comment.
