Cards from Some Odd Girl Feb Digi Day...

Some Odd Girl had their February Digi Day over on their SNR group on Saturday, and I was holding the Saturday Challenge. I challenged the group to print onto kraft cardstock and then colour using your regular colouring medium. I actually made four cards and this was the first of them, she is called Dancin Kaylee and I have..as always, coloured with my Copics using the following colours..

Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20

Hair - 100/C3

Clothing - R37/R39/B93/B95/B97/E50

The papers are a mixure of October Afternoon Report Card (red spotted) and Prima Marketing Moulin Rouge (blue spotted) and I have matted them onto more kraft cardstock. I have also used the Darkroom Door Rockstar set to add the stars and Live Out Loud to the main image and the sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps and is a digi designed my Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs.

Also a Happy Valentines Day to one and all...I am alone this Valentines as David is back in Liverpool for a few days...I did however get a few small gifts from Georgia...a fab mug, 3 soft toys and a union jack bling mouse for my PC......that girl cannot help but be drawn to bling...she is a chip off the old block!

Cute Card Thursday "Buzz Off!"

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog we have a theme of "Buzz Off!". Now we don't want you to go away, we want you to use the colour combo of Black & Yellow. Just as I was about to make my card this week, I was asked by a friend to make a card for a teen boy. Now we all know how hard male cards are...let alone teens. So I pulled out my trusty Darkroom Door stamps and set about making a music themed card. I have coloured the guitar with copics using Y17 & Y38 for the shading. The papers are Rusty Pickle "Pop Star" (you know the ones you can colour yourself) and I used some Bazzill Cardstock and some shimmery yellow cardstock that came in a really old Jenni Bowlin' kit, so I have no idea who the manufacturer is.
Now as boys don't like ribbons and gems (two of my favourites) I used a treble clef paperclip that I got from Staples and some string that I got in Ikea.

Overall I am pleased with the results and I just hope the person who asked me to make it likes it too.

I am so looking forward to the weekend as I am off to Ally Pally with Marlene for some stash therapy....like I need more really. There are a few things I am hoping to get, but I am trying to keep the list short...although I have already placed an order for collection with ScrapShed....but that doesn't count in my spending money...right!!!! This will also be the first time Marlene has seen me crafting back in my craft room, and although the room still needs more sorting, I am much happier crafting back upstairs. David has also agreed to get Sky Multiroom so that I can have it in my Craft Room as I like to have the TV on in the background.

Anyway, back to this weeks challenge...be sure to check out the rest of the DT's cards for inspiration. I don't think any of us have used the same manufacturer.

Sketch Saturday #64

I am on a roll today, here is a card I made using this weeks sketch over on Sketch Saturday. The main images are by Darkroom Door stamps and I coloured them with my Copics (well it was only one colour...LOL). I created the word background using the stamps in the tin. The background paper is by Rusty Pickle "Rock Star" and I used some Bazzill cardstock which I ran through my BigShot using a Cuttlebug embossing folder....I then inked it to grunge it up a bit. I also used my Nestabilities to cut the star shape. I have popped the guitar onto 3d foam to add some dimension, and added a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

This card was made to order for my friend Lynsey...infact she had already written in the card black before I made the card...she trusted me, and now I have posted it for her.... I am pleased with the final card, as it is very difficult to make male cards, especially when they are not men who have hobbies.

A Lil' Bit of Rock N Roll.....

I made this card earlier in the week when my mate Lyns came around...and wanted to buy a birthday card for her Brother who's birthday was that day....and she hadn't had time to make a card for him....the one problem was that ALL my cards are down at my Sisters as she took them into the Newsagents she works at....and they are now selling my cards (although that's another story...LOL). Anyway I only had about an hour to get it done...which doesn't leave a lot of time for colouring...so I kept it super simple. I got these fab stamps from Stampeze in Coventry when I went to visit Marlene earlier this year, and this was the first time I inked them up. I created the word background with the stamps and then added the guitar that I coloured, and the LP etc on top with 3D foam....the paper I used was by Rusty Pickle "PopStar" (the one you can colour/paint yourself) that I got when I when to GoGo Getaway....in 2008...LOL. All I added to the card then was some red Bazzill for layering a sentiment by Craftwork Cards and a star paperclip from Staples....
