Friday Sketchers - Sketch 47

Here is a card I made last night using the sketch over on Friday Sketchers. For my main image I have used two of the new hAnglar & stAnglar Spring Club Kit, and they have been coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair)
Fired Brick (Baseball Hat)
Faded Jeans/Peeled Paint (Her Clothes & Hair Ties)
Faded Jeans/Tea Dye (His Clothes)

The papers are all October Afternoon "Night Light" & "HomeTown" and I have added some swirls cut with my QK Revolution die, some Prima blossoms attached with a Doodlebug sugar coated brad and spacer...all finished off with some red bling and a sentiment by Stampin' Up.

Here is a picture of the inside which is also decorated with the scraps left over.

It seems like everyone loved the flower I showed you yesterday (as learnt from Venessa Matthews), so I will write up a Tutorial and get it posted over the Bank Holiday weekend.....I will also try to add some pics of each stage....

Burning Fabric Flowers

I learnt this amazing technique from Venessa Matthews at ScrapFever.....I was totally blown away with the results and could not wait to go shopping at the Fabric store this week. I picked up eight different lengths each of them 10cm wide (the minimum they will cut) and also picked up some pretty seed beads from HobbyCraft, and on Wednesday I set about making another....and this is the result.....I am sooo pleased. When I showed my friends Lyns, she also loved it and next Thursday we are going back to the fabric shop.....she NEEDS fabric....LOL

If you are interested in learning how to make these stunning flowers, leave me a comment and if enough people want it, I will make some instructions.

Two for One...Again!

I have done a little challenge combining for this card. I have taken Dawny's fab sketch over on Papertake Weekly and combined it with A Spoon Full of Sugars challenge to include an age on your card. For my card I have used one of my new hAnglar & stAnglar stamps and the image has been coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose/Worn Lipstick (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair)
Peeled Paint (Shirt)
Faded Jeans (Jeans)
Vintage Photo/Fired Brick (Sweater Vest)
Vintage Photo (Shoes)
Tea Dye/Fired Brick/Black Soot (Wagon)
The papers are all October Afternoon "Night Light" anf I have also used some Creative Imaginations bling brads, and Sassafrass Lass letters. The sentiment is a die-cut by Craftwork Cards.

I have also decorated the inside as you can see from the picture below....

Go on, pop over to the two blogs and take part, Dawny's sketch is fab, as is the theme on ASFOS.

Today is Good Friday and David now has a long weekend off from work....which we all need after the long hours he has worked this week. Georgia is also at a friends house for a sleepover, so David and I are going to go out for dinner...ALONE...can't remember the last time we managed that.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 55 "Marshmallows & Chocolate"

A little news from me.....I offered my services to the DT over on Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog as a temporary stand in for Annie & Lynn (my fellow Tilda & Friends ATC DT Members) while they were taking a well deserved break, so for the next month I will be joining them.

This week the theme is "Marshmallows & Chocolate", so basically you use Pink & Brown on your card or project....one of my favourite colour combos. For my project I have made a gift bag...perfect for holding easter eggs, sweets...well anything really. This has been made with a white paper bag trimmed down to 4.5 x 3.5 inches. I have then created cardstock page to conceal the bag. Before sticking down the cardstock I have added some ribbon handles...this cute ribbon is by KI Memories Love Elsie "Betty" range. I have added a Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl. The paper for the base is 7Gypsies which I have inked with Distress Inks "Vintage Photo" and added some lipstick kisses with a stamp I got in the sale from Sir Stampalot and some pink versamagic chalk ink. I have embellished with Prima Blossom held on with a spacer and Doodlebug sugar coated brad, a heart pin, so lace, SU Choc Chip taffeta ribbon, a dragonfly charm and a tag by CI Creative Cafe range.
The back is also decorated in a smililar fashion...

Here is a picture of the side on view showing evidence of the original paper bag...

So come over and join us.....the rest of the super talented DT's cards are awesome.
Hugs

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge "Chocolate!"

This week over on the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog the theme is "Chocolate"....with Easter this weekend....what could be better. For my ATC I have used one of the Easter hAnglar & stAnglar stamps coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair)
Spiced Marmalade/Worn Lipstick (Clothing)
Spiced Marmalade (Shoes)
Antique Linen/Tea Dye (Seat)
Peeled Paint (Grass)
Weathered Wood (Sky)

It feels like I haven't blogged in ages....but really it is just under a week. I had a fantastic time at ScrapFever....another wonderful event. Took four fab classes, learnt some amazing new techniques which included making stamps with funky foam and also make my own flowers by burning fabric.....sounds intriguing doesn't it. I promise to come back and show pics of the items I made....as the mini books are both finished just awaiting pics and the 2 DLO's are almost there....one needs photos and the other needs a little journalling....once they are done I will post pics. Today I even made one of the flowers using the burning tecnique....amazing Lynsey and now she is desperate to have a try and we are off to the fabric shop next week...LOL.

So now I am back, I will have a project to show you in the morning....and hopefully I can get busy again this evening.
Hugs,

Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge "Shine On"

This week over on the Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge Blog the theme is "Shine On". Now this had me stumped, every idea I had just didn't feel right....I thought sunshine, knight in shining armour (but the lovely Fran beat me to that idea), nothing was right. So after faffing for what seemed like a lifetime I saw some shiny paper in Georgia's crafting stash....so I pinched it (shhhh don't tell her). So for my two ATC's I covered a piece of card 1/8th of an inch smaller than the ATC size with the shiny paper and using Stazon and the Gorjuss Girls from Sugar Nellie I created two incredibly simple ATC's. What you cannot see in the pictures is that the silver paper has almost a rainbow colour that is like oil mixing with water whenever the sunshine hits it in the right angle. I did lay some other embellies on them, but they didn't look right and detracted of the pretty simplicity of the image stamped onto the shiny background.
So why don't you come and join us and show us your ideas with the "Shiny" theme. Annie & Lynn are taking a blogging rest at the moment, so Andrea and I are looking after the blog, so come over and support us and take part.

I got no crafting time this weekend (apart from a little time in the early hours of this morning), on Saturday we went to see Paul Weller at the O2 Arena, for our anniversary. We left at 2pm on Saturday to travel to Greenwich (which is not easy when the online tube to go to Greenwich is closed) via the underground and Thames Clipper and we finally got home at 2am on Sunday morning.....sadly for me, no lie in for Mothers Day as Georgia was in a Gymnastics competition and we had to be there at 8.30am.....so not funny, must have been a MAN who decided Mothers Day was a good day to hold a competition....LOL Well I am so proud to say that Georgia got a Bronze Medal for her floor routine and vault......Here is a picture of her doing her routine....can you see her coach watching under the beam...LOL And here is one of her at the end getting her medal...Proud Mummy Moment....and a great Mothers Day gift.
Things are going to quite down this week, and I am going to have a quiet week and hopefully weekend after all the excitement of this past week. I just wanted to add another big Thank You for all the lovely cards I received....some are still arriving, as I got a gorgeous card from Coco this morning....all the way from France.
