Two Challenges Collide!

So if you are friends with me on Facebook you will know I foolishly decided to clean out my craft room...well that was Monday evening....and I am still not finished. Each evening I try to get it to the point where I can see my desk again, and have a little time to create....

So with that in mind, I needed to do a mash up of DT committments.....so Cute Card Thursday Challenge collided with Saturated Canary Challenge. The challenge on Cute Card Thursday is "Animal Magic" and over on Saturated Canary it's "Happy Birthday". This super cute new image by Krista @ Saturated Canary is called Wendy and will be instore TODAY. I have coloured her with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E53/E50
Eyes - B21/B66
Clothing - BG10/BG11/BG18
Puppy - E30/E31/E33/E47/YG91/YG95
The papers are all My Minds Eye Lost & Found 2 - Breeze which I have layered with some Bazzill Kraft cardstock. I have embellished with a Craftwork Cards Oh My Word sentiment, and used the Die-namics Loopy Bloom die with some string loops and finished off with some pearl bling. I also add some Glossy Accents to the eyes of the girl and puppy as I think it makes them look more real and glassy...

Be sure to check out the challenges...

Smash*ing Time!!!

So I seem to have fallen in love with Smash* Book....It's the first scrapbooking of any kind that I have done in a long time...

So I have a few of the regular A4(ish) size books and this is my Orange Smash* Book. This book is just for me about stuff I like/see....whatever I like....pretty random stuff. I have planned pages on Twilight, Music, Momiji....

So here are some pics....
Inside front page

First Page
First Double Page
Second Double Page

I have used a mixture of photos on them...the first is using the iPhone App...PocketBooth. The second is taken again with my iPhone using the Instagram App, and then printed and trimmed leaving a polaroid instant feel to them. The next one is my Nikon D80, and the final photos are using my Fuji Instax 100 wide format polaroid style camera. I have used a mix of embellishments, stickers, tabs, button pins, ribbon and washi tape (I am loving the Washi at the moment).

I seem to have gotten lost in my Craft Room this week...I stupidly felt inspired to clean out my room (what was I thinking) after seeing so many lovely tidy craft room pics on Pinterest and Facebook....and now I am stuck in the middle of a mammouth task the like I never dreamed of.....If you don't hear from me send in a search party....I may be lost under a mountain of stash. This does mean I will be selling lots of stamps (inc Magnolia, Lily of the Valley, Penny Black....and loads more) so keep an eye here and on Facebook...

I will be back tomorrow with my Saturated Canary Challenge card and also my Cute Card Thursday card....and at the weekend I will show you my Red Smash* Book which is all things Georgia!

This week over on the Die-ing for a Challenge Blog this month we have a sketch for you to follow...

And here is my card...
For my card I have used the My Minds Eye Union Square which I have layered with some red cardstock and black cardstock...then I simply added some jet black bling. The "LOVE" was cut from one of the papers. I really is a simple card from me, but I know a couple of people who prefer cards without characters on.

Cute Card Thursday - I Want Candy!

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog our theme is "I Want Candy!" We want to see your candy inspired projects.

I decided to make a mini pizza box containing some sweets for a friend of Georgia's....I have already made her a banner for her bedroom in the same colours...so thought this would match nicely. The box is a 4x4 pizza box made out of a piece of cardstock that measures 11x6 inches. I have added some ribbon around the side a piece of paper from the Papermania Portobella Road collection (love that range) AC glitter Thickers for the name and an image by Saturated Canary called Rocky Horror Show Usherette, and I have coloured her with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Eyes - B21/B66
Hair - 100/C3
Clothing - B66/R37/R39/E51/E53/Y28

MME Lost & Found Two...

Here is a card featuring stamps and papers from the My Minds Eye Lost and Found Two Blush collection. To create the main image I have took a butterfly die-cut which I used to mask of the area I didn't want to stamp in. Then I took the stamps from the Blush collection (currently out of stock, but this technique will work with any of these types of sets) and stamped around the edge of the mask, and once I had gone all around, but before I lifted the mask of I took some cut "n" dry and rubbed the black ink around the mask to define the shape a little more. When stamping around the mask, stamp off the page first to soften the ink...I did some a couple of times to make them appear softer...and even stamped straight to make it darker...

Ingredients Stamps - My Minds Eye Lost & Found Two Blush
Ink - Versafine Oynx Black & Versamagic Java Brown chalk ink
Papers - My Minds Eye Lost & Found Two Blush
Cardstock - Bazzill Kraft
Punches - Tag & Martha Stewart butterfly
Embellishments - pearl bling, grosgrain ribbon, Stickles diamond

I hope you have enjoyed seeing something other than colouring from me...and remember that if the stamps I used are not in stock....you can use this technique with any other set...and whatever shape mask you like....you can make your own.

Smashing...

Had a little more time to Smash* on Friday evening, and did another double page in my mini Smash* book. Since Jenni Bowlin released her Bingo Cards many many moons ago I have be obsessed with them, I search out all the different ones....beach, baby, school, halloween, months, love, etc etc. So I decided to record my love of them in my book. I didn't want to use too many of them on the page (just 2) and the rest as the packaging showing super tiny thumbnails of the ones in each pack.... The page also includes some washi tape, AC Thickers, rub-ons and dymo style sentiments...plus a heart pin.

I have finally decided on the themes for my recently purchased full size Smash* books.....Red Book = Georgia, Black Book = Family, Orange Book = Me. Last night I even made a start on Georgia's book, and have completed a couple of double pages in it already...will show them over the next couple of days...

Flutter Heart...

As it was my 23rd Wedding Anniversary this weekend just gone, I made a card for my lovely Hubby. I decided that I would do something a little different and use a stamp that didn't require me to colour (although I added a touch of red).
The stamps I used were The Greeting Farm Flutter Heart clear set which I stamped onto Bazzill Kraft cardstock using a black Versafine inkpad. The papers are all My Minds Eye Paris & Co and I have layered them with some Bazzill Kraft cardstock. To cut the postage stamp layer under the main image I have used a Nestabilities Postage Label die, currently out of stock. I have embellished with some pearl bling and tulle to finish off my card.

Be sure to pop on over to the Die-ing for a Challenge blog to check out this months challenge.

More Smash*ing...

Ok, so on Friday night I decided it was time to decorate the cover of my mini SMASH* book...and here are the results...
I added a little Washi tape, some MAMBI bling, and a few other bits and pieces, and of course it wouldn't be complete without the Saturated Canary digi called Smashy Curls that Krista made for the recent SMASH*aholics Blog Hop...

Then as I was having such fun, I decided to do another double page...this one was about how I love SMASH* products....I have just received a delivery that included a Red & Orange Smash* book....and also another parcel containing a eBay bargain....a second hand Fuji Instax 100 wide format camera....cost me less than £18 ($25) inc postage...and it worked perfectly and was in as new condition...
As you can see I have added some Washi tape, journal spots, a Making Memories ticket, a SMASH* paperclip, butterfly and all the other bits are part of the packaging from some of my new SMASH* stash...and of course an instant photo of the new stash using my new wide format camera....

If you haven't SMASH*ed before, you really should try it. I haven't done much scrapbooking for the last 18 months, and these books have really inspired me to get back to it.....I even plan on doing Project Life in 2013.

Banner for Niamh...

Have made so many of these this year, and decided to make one for Krista's daughter Niamh. I found out Niamh's bedroom is decorated in pink and lilac with a hint of green....so this is what I made.
Obviously I just had to use Krista's girls to decorate the banner....it was just too hard to resist, I coloured the images with my Copics and added them to the banner. I decorated each one with Bo Bunny Smoochable papers, lace, butterflies and bling....and of course the letters. I cannot remember for the life of me who made the letters, but I remember being crazy for them a few years ago...and then not using them....they were too nice to use. Now I just look at them sat there and think they need using whenever possible...LOL...gotta make room for new stuff!

So here are a couple of close ups...

I am glad to say that Young Niamh received it safely this week....and I am told she loved it!

Today we are down in West Sussex attending a Surprise 90th Birthday Party for David's Uncle. This means an early start as we have to be there for midday and need to go and get David's Mum too....should be fun!

Sitting Casual....

After years of office working and clothing restrictions, I am now all about casual...well most of the time anyway. I thought I would show you a card with another of the new releases in March from The Greeting Farm. This stamp set is called Sitting Casual and I have stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Craftwork Cards Digital Cardstock and coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E23/E25/E27

The papers are all Echo Park This & That Charming 6x6 pad and I have layered them with Bazzill Kraft cardstock. I have used sentiments from the same stamp set and also an additional circle sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

Have had a hectic week, and this morning I was at the Milton Keynes Woodwind Music Festival at The Church of Christ the Cornerstone. This event is for Primary School children learning a woodwind instrument with Milton Keynes Music Service. So Georgia's school entered an Ensemble of Flutists and they played beautifully and I am so proud to say that they won the gold award, and have been invited with the other winners to take part in the Concert this evening...needless to say we cancelled all our plans for this afternoon/evening so that she can take part...

Smash*ing with Saturated Canary...

So as promised here is another double page spread from my Mini Smash* Book. This one is all about my love of Saturated Canary and being on their DT. I think Military Girl is my current favourite image....but know knows...Krista does draw some wonderful characters.

So the pages are pretty simple, apart from the image which is coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - R35/R37/R39
Eyes - B21/B66
Clothing - W0/W2/W3/W5/Y28
All I have added to the page is some washi tape, a die-cut dog Tag, a Making Memories "Love" ticket, some journalling about being on the SC DT and a sparkly "S" & "C" for Saturated Canary.

I am so enjoying these Smash* Books, it really has got me back into scrapping. I think I became intimidated with  the amount everyone around me was producing...and I just could find my groove....my creativity has really been ignited with theses books....I think I am just a card making, mini book loving, Smash* fan...LOL

Ok, so today Georgia is in a Gymnastics competition, so we will be out all day...cannot believe I don't even get a little lie-in on a Sunday morning....oh well next week is Mothers Day & my Wedding Anniversary, so no doubt I will deserve a lie-in then.

More from my Mini Smash* Book...

Here is a double page spread that I did showing my excitement about receiving my Fuji Instax Mini 7S. You have never seen anyone rip off packaging so quick....I didn't even wait for the Postman to leave...LOL

I have used one of the pics from the new camera that I was opening the box of, a couple journal cards by Becky Higgins from one of the Project Life Digi Kits @ Jessica Sprague...it was either the clementine or turquoise kit, and arrow that I got about 3 years ago from an Etsy shop, Washi Tape, Dymo sentiments, Scenic Route chipboard, a KI Memories Love Elsie sticker, a calender tab and a few other random bits.

Today I have been busy printing pictures from my phone etc...I have been using PSE to make them look like Polaroid Pics, so that I can use them in my next Smash* Book....a full size Black one...all about my family, home & life...basically the people I love.

Come back tomorrow and I will have another double page spread to show and this one also features one of my all time favourite digi images to colour...
