Some Odd Girl - Sketch!

For my card I have used one of the new digi's, she is called Bright Lights Kaylee and I have coloured her with Copics using the following colours...

The papers are all First Edition Christmas Joy and I have layered with some random cardstock from my stash. To finish I simply added a piece of ribbon in a bow and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

Cute Card Thursday - Time for Cake!

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog our theme is Time for Cake, we want to see cakes on your card/project.

For my card I have used a clear stamp by Some Odd Girl called Tiny Baker Tia which I have coloured with Copics using the following colours...

The papers are all PaperMania The Little Cake Shoppe which I have layered with some Bazzill Kraft cardstock, I have added some AC satin ribbons, a couple of heart pins, some pearl bling and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

Tiddly Inks - Acrylic Card

Here is an acrylic card I made using one of the new images over on Tiddly Inks. She is called Angel Spice and I have coloured her with Copics using the following colours...

Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20

Eyes - B21/B23

Hair - E50/E53

Clothing/Bow - B21/B23

Heart - R37

The base of the card is acrylic and I have added some Bazzill Kraft cardstock, and stuck it to the back of the card to cover the glue used to hold the patterned paper and also to strengthen the card. The papers are all  Dream Street Wonderland. I have added some Tim Holtz Alterations "wings" diecuts and decorated them with some Stickles glitter glue and a heart cut with my SU punch.

As this week is an Anything Goes challenge on Papertake Weekly, I am entering the card there too.

Tiddly Inks Challenge - Paint It Up!

This week over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog we want to see you use paint on your card/project.

For my card I have used a Tiddly Inks image called Awww Thanks which I printed onto Bazzill Kraft cardstock and coloured with Copics using the following colours...

Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20

Hair - E23/E24/E27

Clothing - B93/B95/B97/BG10/BG11/BG13

Flowers - BV08/RV34

I masked the image before adding some Adirondak paint dauber in Aqua/Eggplant and some old Blonde Moments Embossing Pigment which I added water to to make a Shimmer spray. I also added some of the same spray to some Prima E-Line flowers and attached then with a rhinestone spacer and pearl from Hobby House Crafts. Then I finished off with some AC ribbon and a Craftwork Cards sentiment. In the top right there is an old rub-on from my stash.

Baby Shower Gift...

Last month I went to my first ever Baby Shower....I know, how come at my age this was my first. All I can say in my defence is that Baby Showers are very American and are only just catching on over here in the UK.

So I wanted to try making a Diaper (Nappy) Cake using disposables. I had these good intentions to be all prepared, and in my usual fashion ended up rushing down to the local Boots to buy all that I needed just a couple of hours before the Shower. 

I bought 2 packs of nappies in different sizes (both Organic), some muslin cloths, a cute "Onsie", a pack of bibs and a set of Ducks...the Mumma Duck has the others sitting on her and of course a cake board to build it on. I was lucky to have some cellophane left over from last Christmas when I made decorated candles for the Christmas Bazaar at my DD's school.

Anyway, I was pleasantly surprise that I managed to make it...without looking up the instructions online.....I just went with what I thought. I was pretty pleased, and from all the Wow's that came from the Baby Shower, I think other guests thought it was pretty cool too....I think it was the most original way to package a gift. I would however change a couple of things....but only very minor....I forgot to add a tag (duh!)

Not sure when I will get to make another one, as I don't know anyone who is pregnant at the moment....but who knows right!

So sorry I have not shown you these before, but after a migraine at the beginning of the week, and a sickness virus after....last week was a nightmare...thankfully I am feeling better, and getting back into my craft room.

Cute Card Thursday - Animal Crackers!

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog our theme is Animal Crackers...we want to see an animal as or included in your main image.

The papers are all Making Memories Mistletoe which I have layered with some red cardstock. I have kept the embellishments to an all time minimum by just adding a couple of trees cut from the paper and also a Craftwork Cards circle sentiment.

My New Kitchen....

Ok, so it was finished in August, but this has been the first chance I have had to show you a couple of pictures...

Here is a photo of what I call "the kitchen end"...

The other day I was asked what was my favourite thing....apart from all of it, my favourite things is that under the sink those handles pull out one big drawer that houses my rubbish bin and also my recycling bin....sad I know. Also next to the drawers under the hob is a two shelf carousel, so you can pull it out and get to all the items on that shelf....it houses tins and packets of things....so handy. I also love my big belfast/butler sink....I have wanted one of those for as long as I can remember.

So I am over the moon with my new kitchen, and actually enjoy keeping it super tidy (I hate cleaning), it may have taken me a couple of years to finally decided what style kitchen I wanted...but I think it was worth waiting for!

The papers are all Glitz Designs Laced Grace and I have layered thwm with some Bazzill Kraft cardstock. I have embellished with some black dotted grosgrain from my stash, some bling and a Craftwork Cards tag sentiment. The flower was created using a Magnolia Doo-Hickey die, with a diamonte centre and bling from Hobby House.

Lili of the Valley Challenge - Aqua, White & Glitter...

This week over on the Lili of the Valley Challenge Blog we have another colour combo for you...Aqua, White with the added option of glitter!

For my card  I have used an image called Party Pup and I have coloured him with Copics using the following colours...BG53/C0/C1/C2/C3/YR00

The papers are all Magnolia ones...well scraps of papers from previous years, and I have layered with the some Bazzill off white cardstock (cannot remember the colour), I have added some PaperCellar Raffia ribbon, a couple of heart pins, some seam binding, pearl bling and an ancient sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Aren't they just so sweet? With these two sets Kristy tried to bring a lot of options to the table with multiple sentiments 2 figures on each that are sized to work together and different elements that coordinate and work together OR separately. 

With the Warm Wishes Tia set there is a separate tag that you can use to label you stamped gifts, some cute and quirky snowflakes to use with the penguin or on their own. Deck the Halls Tobie has a candy cane sized to stuff your stockings, jingle bells that make great accents or could be strung on a line and much more!

Some Odd Girl Sneak Peeks - Day Three!

These new clear stamps are being released on Monday 19th, and the good new is that you will be able to get the from Dies to Die For here in the UK. Sorry for the long absense, after returning on 3rd from our vacation to Cornwall it has taken me a week to get the washing, ironing, cleaning and all the return to school stuff sorted. What with the new kitchen before we went away, the six weeks school holidays flashed past and I can hardly believe they are over for another year, and that Georgia is now in Year Five...where did the time go...

Anyway, I am back with a sneak peek to show you...Some Odd Girl have an amazing new Christmas Clear Stamp release and today is Day One....and the turn of Deer Mae...

I have used my Copics to colour her, using the following colours...

The papers are all from the new My Minds Eye Lost & Found Christmas 6x6 pad, which I have layered with some Bazzill Kraft Cardstock. I used an old Magnolia script stamp to stamp behind Mae as I wanted her to blend in more with the papers. I also added some white gel pen glints to her eyes. The ribbon is some gorgeous velvet stuff that came in a kit from Costco many moons ago...and finally I have used it.

Long time no post....

So sorry for being such an awful blogger....no update for almost 2 weeks....I think that may well be a record for me. Life here is a little hectic as we have been frantically trying to finish off the kitchen. We are now fully tiled, and are just on the finishing touches to the painting. We will be finished by the end of the week....
