Daring Cardmakers - What's the Point!

This week over on the Daring Cardmakers Challenge Blog the theme is "What's the Point!", they want to see cards featuring points or pointers of some kind - the hands of a clock, arrows, pointing fingers, view-points, pointy stars, pencil points.... pins and needles could also be incorporated.

For my card I went with Stars, not very imaginative I know, but it was my second project...
The papers are all Jenni Bowlin, as are the stickers and the star journal spot. The ribbon is some that came with a gift wrapping set from Asda in Christmas 2008. I have also used Bazzill bling cardstock and Doodlebug Sugar Coated cardstock.
Now this was my original project, I decorated a clock....obviously it has "hands", I then realised it was for Daring CARDmakers and thought I should have made a card...LOL

The supplies are the same as above except I have added some lace, American Craft glitter Thickers, and some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts...plus a couple of Digi Images from The Greeting Farm which have been coloured with Copics (sorry forgot to note down the colours)
Be sure to pop over to the Daring Cardmakers blog....trust me the cards are amazing...and soooo different, I don't think any of them have interpreted it the same way.

So we are almost at the weekend...thank goodness although David told me this evening that he may have to work away all weekend in Chester...leaving on Saturday morning and coming home on Monday evening....All I can say is "Men!"

Clock Mad!!!!!!

Ok, so you are all by now probably thinking I am "Clock Mad" but here is another one I made this weekend. This one is very different to my previous clocks as it is for a desk and measures approx 7" in diameter and has an integral stand, and it was also purchased from The Range (thanks to the eagle eyes of Marlene for spotting it and talking me into buying one over the phone). I have covered it with the same Creative Imagingations "Art Warehouse" paper that I used on the Gorjuss Clock. On this one I used some pink spotted ribbon that I got from HobbyCraft to go around the edge of the clock face. The numbers and wording was also done using some old alpha stickers I had hanging around...possibly by Making Memories or American Craft, although I cannot be sure. I also cut up a Prima Marketing Bling Swirl and added it in between the wording and stamped images...which are incidentally from the new Manga Range by Sugar Nellie....and are fab....just wished I had been in time to get the other 2 stamps in the range. Finally I added a four layer flower with a brad and spacer (I bent the brad to get it to stand at an angle when I stuck it to the outer edge.....plus of course one of the 3D Butterflies made using my X-Cut Dimension punch....with some added bling....a girl can never have too much bling on her desk.....
Sadly this one isn't for me......although I cannot say who it is for as I have to post it next week to the lovely lady I made it for.... I will however be going back to The Range to get a couple more when Marlene gets back from the USA and I go and see her...and stroke her lovely new stash.....you just know she will come back with some.....possibly loads. I did tell her if she goes to mad, she will have to wear ALL her clothes home to save space in her luggage...LOL

What time is it? - Teachers Gift!

As is a tradition of mine for Georgia's Infant School teachers, I make them each a clock at the end of the school year. This year was no exception...although I almost ran out of time....it was still in it's box at 11pm on the night before her final day at the school....LOL What with making 2 8x8 albums ( 1 each for the teachers in Year 2 ) and making "Thank You" cards for the teacher and TA......it was touch and go as to whether it would be done in time....anyway a little after midnight on the Friday it was finished.....so sorry for the poor lighting in the photo. The papers are actually red/black/teal....they are Scenic Route "Cape Town" papers with a sheet of red bazzill cardstock for the outer circle. I added photos of the Teacher and TA which are framed by Bam Pop Frames. I added plenty of bling and punched swirls with my EK Success "Wave" punch and a 3D Butterfly with my X-Cut Dimension punch....the numbers and wording was done with my gorgeous American Craft Glitter Thickers.......I love them...yum yum.

They both loved it and have already asked the School Caretaker to put a nail/screw in the wall to put it up.....If anyone is interested in having a go the clock was purchased from The Range for £4.99 and had a cafe scene on before I covered it up. It is actually about 14" in diameter so you will need to use more than one piece of patterned paper/card.....which was why I trimmed in cardstock by making curved strips and the centre circle is done by drawing around a dinner plate and cutting out (plate was approx 11.5 inches in diameter). The flowers were also cut from a sheet of the Scenic Route paper.

Thanks for looking...

Gorjuss Clock...

June 30th was the deadline for submissions to the Sugar Nellie DT, and I finally applied at 11.50pm...nothing like leaving until the last minute. I wasn't going to apply, but friends told me that even if I was unsuccessful it was worth giving it a go.....So I finished off the project I was working on and sent it in.....and here it is....My Gorjuss Clock, well Georgia's actually...LOL
Georgia is as pleased as punch with her new clock, and if I don't make the DT at least I made her day with the clock....now I just need to put a battery in it and get David to put it up for her...
