Trick or Treating with Tiddly Inks and Simply Betty Stamps

Welcome to the collision of Tiddly Inks and Simply Betty Stamps. :) One fun, fun, fun blog hop!
Betty (of Simply Betty Stamps and my DT member) and I are big Halloween fans, so naturally we had to put together a fun Trick or Treat Blog Hop.

How to Participate: Post your creation on your personal blog today between 12:00 PM CST (noon) and 5:55 PM CST. The title of your post should be "Trick or Treating with Tiddly Inks and Simply Betty Stamps." If possible, your post is to include a Trick (a technique) or a Treat (a gorgeous card :D).

Once your blog post is completed, visit the Simply Betty Stamps blog and link your blog hop post in the Inlinkz list at the bottom of the Blog Hop post in order to be qualified for the prizes. There is no need to sign up in advance, but the Inlinkz list will close at 6:00 PM.
Then we hop, Halloween style, from the Simply Betty Stamps blog. If you don't plan to enter a card, still come along and comment. :) Everyone would appreciate it and you might get super inspired---or spooked. :)

Prizes: Two random blogger participant winners will be announced November 5 and highlighted on the hosting blogs, Tiddly Inks and Simply Betty Stamps. Each will receive a $10 gift voucher from Tiddly Inks and digital images of her choice from Simply Betty Stamps. will be giving away digital images of the winner's choice.

Many of the design team members are offering freebies and prizes along the way, so even if you don't plan on entering a card, come along and find all the tricks and treats.

Now here is my creation using one of the Simply Betty Stamps...I loved having a chance to play with some of the Simply Betty images...they are fab and such fun to colour. This image is my favourite as it reminds me of one of Georgia's best friends...so I have coloured her to look like her...This image is called Betty.

I have decided to share a little trick with you. Now when I first started to colour with Copics I always started with the lightest colour first and built up to the dark....and now with more experience and what I have learnt from blog hopping....I start with the darkest colour first. Now I don't know if that is news to all of you. I am pretty sure that those of you who have taken a Copics Course will know this....but if not, you do now as I am sharing the tip.

And now if you are still reading I am also sharing a treat with you......if my card wasn't enough. I have a digi prize for one person who leaves me a comment. You will get to choose the Tiddly Inks image of your choice.....so make sure when you have finished reading you leave me a comment. The winner will be chosen using random.org at 21:00 GMT on 31st October 2010.

I have used the following colours on my card...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E18/E19
Clothing - R37/R39/R46/W5/W7/W9
The papers are a mixture of Daisy & Dandelion and Magnolia, layered with some Craftwork Cards shimmer cardstock. I have also added some glitter foam embellishments from Hobbycraft, a sentiment by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs for Whimsy Stamps....and finally a few bats created using my Martha Stewart bat punch.

Now, don't hit anything on the way back to the list...you know, bad joke with the two companies colliding....LOL (OK, I stole the pun from Christy)

This is the list of the design team members for both companies if you want to start with a few blogs. The rest are to be found in the inlinkz list on Betty's blog.
Start with Christy

Happy Halloween and happy colliding!

Card Storage Tote...

While blog surfing during the summer I found this amazing card storage tote on Jo Dumbleton's blog. After admiring it for a while I decided to buy the tutorial from a talented SU demo in Australia called Lynda Moss. The tutorial is easy to follow and good value at AU$8.50.

For my version I have used some gorgeous patriotic papers from Craftwork Cards called Anglomania that came in a goody bag kit HERE. The cardstock was also in the kit and I have added AC ribbons from my stash. Inside are index cards with calendars on so that you can write the dates of all the birrthdays you need to remember. There is space to store cards up to 5 inches wide, so A6 or 5x5" cards (I think I will make a bigger one using 8x8" chipboard for the covers....then I will be able to fit my cards in).

I have been searching through my stash to find suitable chipboard, as Georgia is begging me to make her one, and I also think I want to make one for my Sister as she has so many dates to remember....and maybe more...I am addicted.

Tiddly Inks Challenge - Treat Bags/Boxes...

This week over on the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog our theme is treat bags/boxes. We want to see your treat bags or boxes...or even a card that features a treat.

For my card I have used the Candy Avenger image which I have coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Eyes - B21
Hair - E53/E50
Clothing - R37/R46/R59/BV08/V09
Pumpkin - YR07/YR68/E31/E47/R37
The papers are all from a Daisy & Dandelion paper pad that I gpt last year in The Range. The cobweb paper is also by Tiddly Inks, and was a freebie given to members of the PCP group. The sentiment ticket is a digi by Whimsy Stamps created by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs. I created the treat cup using some Tim Holtz packaging, I got some of the film strip acetate ribbon stuff and kept the packaging as it reminded me of an SU treat cup that I had seen in the US catalogue (now available in the UK). I had some halloween eyeball sweets so added that to the cup. I made my own closure system on the inside with a larger circle and a couple of brads. I finished off with a couple of chocolate embellishments and some bats punched with my Martha Stewart punch.

Come on over to the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog and join in the fun.

Anyone for Anya? - Anything but a Card!

This week over on the Anyone for Anya? Challenge Blog we want you to make "Anything but a Card!". So I decided to make a suitcase. For the basic construction I used instructions by Becky Roberts over on Inking Idaho Blog. I used the Tote-ally Awesome Tote Tutorial, but instead of adding the pockets on the front, I changed mine to an old fashion leather suitcase. I used SU kraft cardstock, AC grosgrain ribbon, Doodlebug stitched rubbon (handles) and some other random stictched ribbon (thin brown stuff). The embellishments on the case are done with Prima Marketing stamps, and I have added Travel Anya which I coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E47/E49/E44
Clothing - BG000/BG01/BG45/R37/R46/R59
Suitcases - E30/E31
Finally I have added one of my ticket sentiments.

Georgia decided that she likes this and wants to have it to store her ATC's in....so now I need to make some pockets on the inside.

So check out the Anyone for Anya? Challenge Blog and join in with a chance to win a fab prize from Whiff of Joy.

Craft Stamper...

Here are a couple of items that I had featured in Craft Stamper this month. Both are made using the Orange Bird Studio images from Squiggle Stamps.

The first item I made was a little bird box ornament using the Owlies image, available HERE in rubber and HERE as a digi image.

I also had a card featured online, this time using the Lovebirds image, available HERE in rubber and HERE as a digi image.
Next week I have something a little different featuring Miss Evie.
