Wedding Mini Books...

I wanted to give my cousin and his new wife a personal present for their wedding, so came up with the idea of a mini book, which I would fill with photos that I took on their day. So here is what I made...
It is a Bo Bunny Binder that I have covered with DCWV "Be Mine" papers and where the canvas on the binder meets the paper I have added some co-ordinating ribbons. I decorated with American Crafts Glitter Thickers, Bazzill tulle, pearl pin and some Martha Stewart butterflies. The inside is more of the same papers and embellishments...take a look at a couple of pages...

I will be filling it with photos this afternoon and giving it to them at breakfast in the Hotel before we leave...

I then decided that I would make one for my Auntie using all the same stuff....just a little different...so here is hers...
And a selection of the inside pages...
The mini books are very similar, I have just used slightly different paper combinations...one is a little more pink, the other a little more aqua.

We arrived at about 2pm...just as they were taking the photos, I didn't bother with any of the large group shots as I was only interested in getting the Bride & Groom. So when all the other guests boarded the red double decker London bus that was taking them all to the reception, I followed the official photographer and got some of the shots he was taking....don't worry he never complained and I stayed right out of this way...LOL.  The plan was to then print them once I got back from the reception (I took my Laptop and my little Canon Selphy Dye Sub printer) and hand them over in the morning over breakfast at the hotel...(can you hear the Mission Impossible music in your head...) Well all went to plan and we got back to the Hotel at a little after 1.15am, and David & Georgia fell straight into bed while I sat and printed 18 photos (9 for each book). I punched butterflies and swirl to overlap the photos, and I am so pleased to say that both recipients LOVED them, in fact every guest that saw them thought they were fantastic and said how fantastic the photos were, and what a wonderful gift it was. So much so that I have decided to make another for Rachel's lovely Mum, Anna. We stayed back this morning to help take down the decorations and clean the marquee as it is being used for another event tomorrow, and after went back to their house for a delicious lunch...and ended up sitting in the garden with the rest of my family (Aunt & Cousins) and waved off the newly weds off as they drove to the airport to go on their honeymoon.

We finally got home at 6pm, tired but having had a wonderful weekend...and now I am back in my craft room trying to get back on track with my DT commitments...I will be ready with a preview of one of the new Pixie Dust Studios 3rd June release, and also a Squiggle Stamps card...so make sure you are back tomorrow. I will also show pics this week of the third in the mini book series...and this time I will show you one with pics in it...just to prove it got finished.

Anyone for Anya? - Double Trouble!

This week on the Anyone for Anya? blog the theme is "Double Trouble", we want to see your cards/projects that feature more than one stamp. I doesn't have to be two characters, it can be a fence, tree, grass....as long as it is clear you used more than one stamp. I have masked, but if you haven't tried that techqnique before, you can just stamp them separately and stick them both on.

I have used My Guy Ian and Miss Anya Love sets and both the images have been coloured with Copics (available HERE from DTDF) using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20

I have also used one of my beloved Inkadinkado Kids Quote stamps....which Tracy @ Dies to Die For (DTDF) has now ordered a selection of....can hardly wait I love them so much and always have to order from the US...so a stockist with a selection in the UK will be great.

Be sure to hop on over to the Anyone for Anya? blog to check out the rest of the DT's cards....remember to take part you can use either The Greeting Farm or CC Designs stamps....or maybe a mixture of both!

Georgia and I have been on a mission to tidy her room this morning. We have pulled all the old toys out from the underbed storage, and the ones that she is too old for now will be donated to a good cause. Yesterday I had a massive sort out of my chest of drawers and got rid of old t-shirts that are passed their best, and stuff I don't want/use anymore....feels great...a bit late for Spring cleaning, although until June we are still technically in Spring...I have plans for more sorting...fed up with the lack of space....I am by nature a horder, so this has been hard for me!

Anyone for Anya? - Don't be Square!

This week on the Anyone for Anya? challenge blog our theme is "Don't be Square!". We don't want to see your 6x6 inch (or thereabouts) cards....we want to see all the other shapes....tent cards, easel cards, round cards, round cards, step cards.....or like me handbag shape cards.

For my cards I have cut a handbag shape card from a template I have had for donkeys years out of black spotted cardstock. I have added a handbag charm made from Shrinkles (Shrink Plastic) coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - R81/R83/R85
Clothing - C0/C1/C2/C3/C5/C7
I have then added a Prima Lollipop flower and created a swirl with the Bazzill bling template, and finished off with one of my ticket sentiments.
Be sure to pop on over to the Anyone for Anya? blog to see what other shapes the DT came up with.

Today is Georgia's 8th Birthday....my baby is a baby no more...she is a little lady. Yesterday I took a group of her friends bowling and for pizza.....and my god that was hard work....since when do 8 year olds become boy crazy....4 of them were mooning over teenage boys.....very worrying! Thankfully for me Georgia was not one of them....she still thinks boys are mean and smelly, with the exception of her Daddy. The picture above was taken while we were bowling. I spent 45 minutes giving her more ringlets (she naturally has a few) in her hair with ringlet tongs.....got to do it again this morning too as she wants to show her cousins...we are off down to Surrey to visit my family for Sunday Lunch!

SJ's Little Musings Friday Freebie...

Well it's Friday, and you know what day that is.....SJ's Little Musings Friday Freebie Day. This week SJ has come up with something a little bit different.....we have a musing with no head!...."Off with her head" as the Queen of Hearts said in Alice in Wonderland. SJ is always so wonderful with her musings and this week she not only gives you a version to colour yourself...she also gives you one coloured with clouds and one coloured with clouds and a sentiment.....I used the coloured with clouds one and added my own sentiment. I found the quote on the internet and thought it matched the image perfectly....it says...
"On a bad day,
I have mood swings - but on a good day,
I have the whole mood playground. "
I loved it and thought it would work as a card to a best friend...who knows what your mood swings are like....LOL
So I took the image, and added the sentiment in Photoshop Elements, when it was printed the skin was a little pale (darn printer) and so I added some more colour to the skin and jumper with my Copics. The papers are a real mix....Wild Rose Studions (pink dotted), 3Bugs (green plaid), and Pink Paislee (green damask/brocade). I have backed the card and image with green and pink Bazill cardstock. I have added a few embellishments....I just can't make a card with no embellies...LOL. The pink cherry blossoms were from Creative Treasures as was the heart pin, the star pin is by Making Memories, the ribbon was found lurky in my ribbon mountain, butterflies were punched with my Martha Stewart punch, I added two layers to each one, the top layer being vellum. I finally finished off with a butterfly sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

Be sure to check out SJ's Little Musings blog to see what the rest of the DT made with her.
