Cute Card Thursday - Reuse, Renew, Recycle!

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge blog our theme is Reuse, Renew, Recycle!. We want to see you use/reuse things that you have around the house, be it ribbon from a box of chocolates or buttons from old clothing, bits from store bought cards you have received, the embroidered patches from jeans...or even the pocket from a pair of jeans....the ideas are endless. We are sponsored this week by The Stamp Shoppe.

So for my card I used a Hello Kitty chipboard piece that came off a card Georgia got for her 6th (I think) birthday...so I have had it hanging around for a couple of years...LOL, and also the ric rac was from some jeans she had...probably about the same time. The papers are by SandyLion and I have had them a few years....got them because Georgia loved Hello Kitty...and then never used them...what am I like.

So there it is, a card with no colouring for me. I have also used the sketch this week over on Daring Cardmakers, so will be entering it there. They have a fab prize on offer this week from Nikki Sivilis, Scrapbooker and Sarah's Cards.

Be sure to come back later, as I will have my final card of the day for Pixie Dust Studios challenge.

Hair - E50/E51/E53
Clothing - YG00/YG01/YG03/Y21/R27

The papers are all Cosmo Cricket "Garden Variety" that I have layered with some Bazzill Bling cardstock. I have embellished with some gorgeous Daffodils from Wild Orchid Crafts, some bling from my stash and a CC Designs sentiment layered up with a Stampin' Up Designer Label punch.

This week over on the Just Magnolia Challenge blog there is a fab sketch provided by Bev, and on the Daring Cardmakers Challenge blog there is a theme of "Daffodils"....so far this year these are the only daffodils I have seen....not a single one in bloom here...or in the shops for that matter.

For my card I have used Ladybug Tilda and she has been coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E50/E51/E53

Daring Cardmakers "Schooldays"

This week, my final week as Guest DT over on Daring Cardmakers the theme is Schooldays. For my card I decided to make an Apple shaped card....I always think of "An Apple for the Teacher". To make the apple shaped card I traced around a template made from a Cider Coaster in the bar on last years GoGo Getaway. The image I have used is by The Greeting Farm, "Teacher Anya". I have coloured the image with Copics (but cannot remember the colours). The papers October Afternoon "Detours" with stickers and journal cards from the October Afternoon "Report Card" range, and the "G" sticker is by Sassafras Lass.

So that's it.....my final Guest DT week. It has been great fun working with a lovely group of crafters, so a huge thank you to them all for having me.

Daring Cardmakers - What's the Point!

This week over on the Daring Cardmakers Challenge Blog the theme is "What's the Point!", they want to see cards featuring points or pointers of some kind - the hands of a clock, arrows, pointing fingers, view-points, pointy stars, pencil points.... pins and needles could also be incorporated.

For my card I went with Stars, not very imaginative I know, but it was my second project...
The papers are all Jenni Bowlin, as are the stickers and the star journal spot. The ribbon is some that came with a gift wrapping set from Asda in Christmas 2008. I have also used Bazzill bling cardstock and Doodlebug Sugar Coated cardstock.
Now this was my original project, I decorated a clock....obviously it has "hands", I then realised it was for Daring CARDmakers and thought I should have made a card...LOL

The supplies are the same as above except I have added some lace, American Craft glitter Thickers, and some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts...plus a couple of Digi Images from The Greeting Farm which have been coloured with Copics (sorry forgot to note down the colours)
Be sure to pop over to the Daring Cardmakers blog....trust me the cards are amazing...and soooo different, I don't think any of them have interpreted it the same way.

So we are almost at the weekend...thank goodness although David told me this evening that he may have to work away all weekend in Chester...leaving on Saturday morning and coming home on Monday evening....All I can say is "Men!"

Daring Cardmakers - Hole in One!

It's week two of my Guest DT stint over on Daring Cardmakers and this week the theme is "Hole in One". The team want to see your cards/projects with holes. It can be an aperture card, or just an imaginative use of holes in your creation...

For my card I made an aperture card, the main image is another Lili of the Valley image from the Spring 2010 collection available later this month. I have coloured him with Copics using the following colours...
Bear - E30/E31/E33/E35
Net - C1/C3
Butterflies - YR17/R46/E71/R12/BG23
Grass - YG03
The papers are all October Afternoon "Detours" and I have layered them with some DCWV cardstock that I distressed the edges of. I have also used my Martha Stewart Around the Page "loop" punches and my Nestabilities to cut the aperture. I have embellished with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, bling from my stash, butterflies puches with the X-Cut dimensional punch all topped off with a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

As you can see below....from another angle...
And here is the inside...
Be sure to pop on over to the Daring Cardmakers challenge blog to see the DT's work....there are some brilliant ideas on adding "holes" to your cards.

Guest DT for January 2010 on Daring Cardmakers

Yep, you read it right... Before Christmas I got a message via a PM on UKScrappers from Lythan asking if I would be their Guest DT for January...well of course I said yes.

So here is my card for the first challenge of 2010....Birthstone of the Month, which just happens to be Garnet. I made another Easel Card Calendar...LOL....don't worry I have almost used up all 10 of them that came in the pack..... The papers are all by Little Yellow Bicycle "Love letters", as are the stickers and chipboard (which is gorgeous and flocked). I added some dotty black ribbon to create a pen holder. The image is a digi stamp by The Greeting Farm that I have coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E50/E51/E53
Hairband - R29
Clothing - C7/C9/R29
I have also added some bling from my stash

Here is a view from another angle...
Be sure to check out the Daring Cardmakers Blog to see what the Design Team made. I am always loving their style, which is usually much less cute than mine....most of you know that I am a sucker for cute!

A Three in One!

I made this card last night for the challenges over on A Spoon Full of Sugar, Papertake Weekly and Daring Cardmakers. On Daring Cardmakers they want you to make a card with a theme that starts with the first letter of your name....I am a C...so Christmas. On A Spoon Full of Sugar they want you to you a colour combo of Brown and either Blue or Pink....so I used Brown & Blue. Finally on Papertake Weekly they want you to make a Christmas Card.

For my card I used an image by CC Designs that I coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - E31/E25/E27/E49
Clothing - BG10/BG11/BG13/E33/E35
The papers are all by Magnolia from the Christmas collection that I layered with some Bazill & Bazzill Bling cardstock. I also added some lace, pearl pin and pearl bling from my stash together with flowers by Wild Orchid Crafts and a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

Been feeling in a crafty funk all week....most unlike me.....hope it passes quickly.

Daring Cardmakers "Scraplings"

This week over on Daring Cardmakers the theme is "Scraplings"....the cards you make with left over cardstock. These cards are 2.5 x 5.5 inches...the leftover bit from my A4 cardstock when I make a 5.75 x 5.75 inch card. I have also used scraps from one of my DT kits from Crafty Angels.
I kept the Thank You cards pretty simple just cardstock, papers. ribbon and bling. The stamp and punch are by Stampin' Up (US set) and the butterfly was cut with my Papermania Dimensional Butterfly punch.

With Christmas fast appoaching it is nice to send Thank You cards after, particularly when the kids write them themselves.

Challenge Combo...

This morning I decided that I wanted to make a card without any colouring, and I had my fab new Stampin' Up Butterfly punch and stamps to use. I am entering it into a couple of challenges... Papertake Weekly's theme is"Spots 'n' Stripes", and Daring Cardmakers' theme is "Get Punchy with it".

So for my card I have used papers by Sassfras Lass Serendipity "Sunshine Lollipop" that are layered with Stampin' Up "Bashful Blue" cardstock. The stamps are also Stampin' Up as is the punch (as I mentioned before). To finish off I added some gems from my stash.

Now it was lovely to make a card that was quick (no colouring), but my heart lifts with joy when I colour....I am just a nig kid at heart...LOL

Daring Cardmakers "Take Five"

This week on Daring Cardmakers the challenge is to use five of something on your card...five brads, five flowers...you get the idea. For my card I went with five different patterned papers....all from the DCWV "La Creme" stack. The main image is Butterfly Anya from The Greeting Farm, and I have coloured her with my Copics. The other elements I have used are flowers by Prima and Craft Fairy, spacer and PaperMania pearl brad, 2 pearl pins from The Range, a sentiment by Craftwork cards and my swirl punch by Quickutz, my oval scallop and scallop punches from Stampin' Up, and my Labels Two from Nestabilities.

On the inside I have used the same five papers plus a couple more of the blossoms....
I really enjoyed this challenge...even though I never intended to add a stamped image....I just changed my mind right at the end...LOL

Here is a card I made this morning combining the sketch over on Friday Sketchers (#37) and the theme over on Daring CardMakers, to use three patterned papers. The swirls were done with my QK Revolution die and the sentiment is my Stampin' Up.

So pop on over to Cute Card Thursday Blog, Daring CardMakers Blog and not forgetting Sketch Saturday.....so much inspiration, so little time...LOL

Today Georgia and I are visiting my Dad, Sister and her family for Sunday lunch...Dad is a fab cook, and tonight I have a deadline on some work and crafting....so will not get a chance to colour.....unless I finish everything else first of course.....

Daring Cardmakers "Be Inspired at Home"

So finally the Xmas Bazaar is all done. It all went well, and the items I packed up for the school to sell went really well. The 10 things I made for me to sell (I had planned to make more, but ran out of time) all sold, and really quickly too. I have loads more, so will carry on making them up, and will sell them off during the year.

So on to my card for this weeks challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers Challenge Blog...

The theme this weeks is "Be Inspired at Home", now while none of my rooms are decorated in teal & red....my gorgeous new bathroom is however white with the teal colour as an accent. I have used one of my cute new Pink Poison "Anya" stamps coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Warm Grey 5 (Hair)
Pastel Green (Eyeshadow)
Pastel Green/Ruby (Nurse Outfit)
Pastel Blue (Cup & Shadow)
The papers are by Crate Paper "Samantha" collection, the "price label" is by CI Creative Cafe, and finally the flower is by Prima held together with a brad by PaperMania and a bead spacer.

After all the stress of the past couple of weeks we are having a quiet weekend. We are putting the tree and lights up, writing cards, crafting and maybe when a "little" person is in bed, we will wrap presents while snuggled up watching tv. Georgia and I have must switched over to Movies 24, as they have Christmas films on all afternoon....and you can't beat Christmas films for putting you in the mood for the big day.

Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend, and not stressing to much.

Daring Card Makers "Sparkle & Bling"

For the first time ever I checked out the Daring Card Makers Challenge Blog...not sure why I have missed it in the past. Anyway, this week their challenge is "Sparkle & Bling" and as I am in the groove making Christmas cards, the theme fitted perfectly.

For this card I have used four Magnolia stamps. I masked twice to create the main image. I firstly stamped Tilda and her masked her and stamped the bauble, then I made a mask for the bauble and stamped over the who thing with the background stamp. The main image is coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cinnamon/Cocoa (Hair)
Ruby (Hat & Under Dress)
Vanilla (Socks & Over Dress)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
Metallic Gold (Bauble)
To finish off the main image I added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair and also Stickles "Diamond" glitter glue to the whole of the bauble, and boy does it sparke...although it is almost impossible to capture that on the photo. I have also used Stampin' Up Choc Chip cardstock, KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel" paper, and DCWV "Christmas Wishes" 6x6 paper pad. The final touches are a Magnolia "ticket" sentiment, a heart pin, a "made with love" heart charm, some Stampin' Up Choc Chip taffeta and some more bling.

I loved this challenge and will now add the blog to my list, and check back weekly.
