Saturated Canary Challenge - Non Traditional Xmas Colours!

The current challenge over on the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog is to use Non Traditional Colours on your card/project.

For my card I have used a black/pink/grey theme. The image is called (Ugly) Sweater Christmas which I have coloured with Copics using the following colours...

Clothing - C0/C1/C2/C3/C5/C7/R81/R83/R85
The papers are all from an old DCWV paper pad called Rose Tinted Christmas and I have layered with scraps of different black cardstock (some has glitter on). I have added a doily, a couple of lastic Xmas Trees, some tulle and sentiments....I also added Glossy Accents to the specs on the main image.

Saturated Canary Challenge - Distress

The current challenge over on the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog is "Distress"...we want to see you project with some kind of distressing.

For my card I have used one of the new Christmas images called The King which I have coloured with Copics using the following colours...
Feet - E000/E00/E11/R20
Manger - E57/E59/Y28/B000/B00
The papers are all Pink Paislee Mistletoe & Co layered with Bazzill cardstock. I have simply added some seam binding, a Craftwork Cards circle sentiment and a MAMBI bling "Joy". To make the card sparkle a little more I added some AC glitter glue to the star and used a Sakura clear glitter gel pen to the straw.

Saturated Canary Challenge...Alter It!!

This week over on the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog we have a new Alter It Challenge. The title is pretty self explanatory...but just in case...we want you to Alter something...

I decided to alter this plain kraft file folder...

And here is how it turned out...

The image is a Saturated Canary one called Starla, which has been coloured with Copics using the following colours...

The papers and stickers are all My Minds Eye Find Your Wings & Fly - Up and Away, and I have added some doilies, a mustache paper clip, mustache die-cuts, a Polaroid frame around the image,a tag and seam binding. To finish off I sprayed the whole thing with Tattered Angels Pearl Glimmer Mist.

I am pretty please with the results and Georgia is over the moon...she has claimed it as her own...

Saturated Canary Challenge - Paper Piecing...

Last weeks challenge over on Saturated Canary Challenge Blog was paper piecing. For my card I have used one of the Little Darlings Saturated Canary images called Isabella. I have coloured her with Copics using the following colours...

The papers are all Lily Bee Designs This & That layered onto some Bazzill cardstock in black. I have added a doily, Craftwork Cards sentiment and some roses and a Prima Pearl flower.

Saturated Canary - Colouring Technique Challenge

This week over on the Saturated Canary Challenge our theme is Colouring Technique Challenge....either dotted background, cloudy sky or faint lines colouring.....I chose faint lines colouring.

For my card I have used the Ava (a former freebie image now available in the shop for just $2 - bargain!). To print the faint line version I opened the image in PS Elements and changed the opacity of the image from 100% to 34% (try different percentages until you are happy). I then coloured her with Copics using the following colours...

Clothing - W0/W1/W2/E40/E41/E42/B52/V91/V93/V95/V99
The papers are all 7 Dots Studio All I Ever which I layered with some Core-dinations grey cardstock. I have added a doily and some Washi tape from Paperchase.

CCT v SC Challenges...

So new challenges are up today on Cute Card Thursday and Saturated Canary Challenge blogs...so I did a little combining...

On Cute Card Thursday the challenge is Button Up, and one Saturated Canary it is Winged Things, so for my card I used one of the new Saturated Canary images from Krista called Comfy Slippers Fairy. I have coloured her with Copics using the following colours...

The papers are all My Minds Eye Find Your Wings and Fly Up and Away, I have distressed all the edges with a Tim Holtz distressing tool added a doily, some washi tape, stickers, chipboard attached with bakers twine and buttons from the same MME range. I finished off with some SU seam binding, a Prima bling key and a Craftwork Cards sentiment.

Saturated Canary Challenge - Anything Goes!

So, I am a little late posting this as the challenge started last week...

The challenge theme is Anything Goes, so I made a corner book mark with the Grey Tie/Under Contract stamp set which I coloured with Copics using the following colours...

A little late showing this card....a new challenge started on Thursday last week over on the Saturated Canary Challenge Blog....the theme being Emerald!

Cute Card Thursday meets Saturated Canary!

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge blog the theme is "A Different Corner", and on Saturated Canary Challenge blog we have a colour scheme...I think of them as icecream colours...

So for my card I decided to combine them and use the new Hugs & Kisses freebie image from Saturated Canary...although she is no longer available as a freebie, Krista has added her to the SC store for a reduced price of $2. I have coloured her with Copics using the following colours...

The papers are all American Craft Dear Lizzie 5th & Frolic layered with some Bazzill Kraft cardstock. I added a Unity Stamps sentiment, Bakers Twine and some ribbon which was stuck to the corners of the image and I made a flower using another colour. To make the flower all you need to do it take a strip of stitched grosgrain ribbon and pull the stitching on one side, this will bunch the ribbon up...then twist into a flower and stick.

So this week I am trying to get back into my normal routine...December blew the routine out of the water, and as time was limited I had to combine my Challenge DT resposibilities....so hence Cute Card Thursday meets Saturated Canary Challenges...

So the challenge on Cute Card Thursday is "Something New"...well this is a New Years card, and the Saturated Canary Challenge is to use a song as your inspiration...I chose "Let's Get Physical" by Olivia Newton John.

Saturated Canary Challenge - Photo Inspiration...

Ok, so I am sooo late with this card....but in my defence, one of the hard drives on my PC crashed. I came back from Christmas away visiting our family down in London and it has taken a few days to get everything back up and running...I have such a wonderful Husband.

 

So here is my Saturated Canary Challenge card from 20th December...

The Papers are all Pink Paislee Portfolio which I have layered with some Bazzill Kraft cardstock. The moustache is a die-cut that I bought from Etsy and I have put it on a cocktail stick, added some Washi tape to the card (top one from Paperchase the other is MME) and a sentiment using Making Memories Tiny Alphas.
