Daring Cardmakers "White Christmas...with a little pink"

The challenge over on Daring Cardmakers this week is "White Christmas....with a hint of pink". For my card I use another of the Me to You Bear images that I got from eBay. I have coloured the image with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ice Grey 1 (Bear)
Ice Grey 1 (Paw Pad & Patch)
Pastel Blue (Nose)
Rose Pink (Scarf)
The paper is KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel", this is such a simple card, the only other items I used were some Bazzill Tulle and a snowflake charm, and of course a touch of Stickles "Crystal" glitter.

The DT cards were gorgeous....mine was copied from the LO of both of Kathy's fabby cards.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 30

So even though I was totally exhausted last night and fell asleep on the sofa, when I woke from my nap...I felt rejuvinated and made a couple of cards. I have used a Me To You image that I got recently on eBay...I so wish these stamps were available to buy....I would have to get lots...LOL. I have coloured him with ProMarkers using the following few colours...
Ice Grey 1 (Bear)
Ice Grey 2 (Paw Pads &Patch)
Pastel Blue (Nose & Scarf)
The papers are all KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel", I have also used Bazzill Tulle, Prima Blossom and a heart pin and snowflake charm from my stash. I finally added some Stickles in "Crystal" as snow and snowflakes.

Today I am busy working with my December ScrapaGoGo kit...I have done a couple of things but the deadline is looming and I have been struggling with a bad chest infection...I have to be careful since my bout of Pneumonia 6 years ago. I have so many crafting projects that need to be finished...and most of them have a deadline that is fast approaching....isn't that always the way. I think as crafters we put too much pressure on ourselves to make things special....especially at Christmas. Thankfully most of my Christmas shopping is done...most of it online.

Anyway, why not pop over to the Friday Sketchers blog (link on the right) and come and join in the fun.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 38 "Lilac"

I seem to be having my least productive card week in a long time. I think I have only made 3 since Monday. Anyway, over on the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog the theme is "Lilac"....I do love it when the theme is so open, especially during this busy time of year. For my card I have used a Sugar Nellie stamp "Sweet n Sassy" from the Sweet Ebony Art collection designed for SN by Elisabeth Bell (this one and Daisy are my fav SN stamps), she has been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Pastel Yellow/Mustard (Hair)
Lavendar (Hat)
Blossom (Top)
Lilac (Trousers)
The flowers are an assortment of all three with added Meadow Green for the foilage and grass.
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
The papers are all one of the new My Mind's Eye collections, although I cannot remember for the life of me which one. I have added some fabby Bazzill Tulle and a heart pin and charm. The sentiment is a Penny Black stamp that I have done across the two tags (done with a punch), and I also added a tab done with my Stampin' Up tab punch and the stamps.

Originally this card was going to be submitted for a DT over on "The Sugar Bowl", the new Sugar Nellie blog being run by Gayle....but I have since made another, and this fitted so perfectly with this weeks theme...I just had to use it.

Why not pop over to both the Cute Card Thursday blog (link to the right), I can safely say that you won't be disappointed when you see the gorgeous cards made by the DT.

PS....Apologies for the poor photo....don't know why it is so bad...the colours really do match...honestly.

I am so busy at the moment that I am not able to keep up with all the challenges. I have lots of stuff to sort for the Christmas Bazaar at Georgia's school, plus ScrapaGoGo DT work to complete with December kit by the weekend....so no rest for the wicked.

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge "Warm & Cosy"

This week over on the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog we have a theme of "warm & cosy"...and isn't it appropriate for the current weather here in the UK.....so windy and chilly. For my ATC I have used a scrap of patterned paper from my stash...I think it was K&Co. The images are all by Alota Rubber Stamps and have been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #26

Here is a card I made using the lovely skech over on the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog. For my card I have used the Tilda from the Winter Club Kit and the lampost is from the Christmas collection. I have coloured both the images with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Ruby (Coat , Boots & Hat)
Vanilla (Gloves & Tights)
Metallic Silver/Rose Pink (Bell)
Cool Grey 4/Gold (Lampost)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)

The papers are KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel", with buttons by Doodlebug and the sentiment and other stamped images are by Kelly Panacci and Hampton Art respectively. Finally I added Stickles for the snow and Sakura clear glitter gel to Tilda's hair.

I had a lovely day with the family yesterday, and came home with something incredibly precious. My Dad let me have my Mum's engagement and eternity rings. Now neither have huge financial value, but their sentimental value is priceless. The engagement ring is mis-shaped and the band has thinned and the eternity ring is missing a small diamond. I have decided to take them to the jewellers to be cleaned and the engagement ring reshaped and the band strengthened. Dad also let Georgia have one of Mums necklaces...a little 9ct gold ragdoll (I am sure it was one I got for her) and Georgia says it is very precious and that she will take great care of it...bless her. My Sister also got one of Mum's rings...a band with carved letters spelling "Love"...also in need to strengthening due to years of wear...but it was a ring my Sister has always loved and seemed fitting that it went to her. I stood with Dad reminising, and both of us were close to tears. This year will be our 5th Christmas without her, and we still miss her as much as ever....does that feeling ever leave you?

So I am busy getting things ready for the Christmas Bazaar at Georgia's school.....I am in the crafting area...no surprise there...LOL

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 29 by Beatrix of Germany

This week over on Friday Sketchers, the sketch has been provided by Beatrix of Germany. For my card I have rotated the sketch through 90 degrees as it worked better with my stamped images. The stamps are by Magnolia from the Christmas 2008 collection and they have been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Rose Pink/Moss (Dress)
Ruby (Socks)
Ruby/Moss (Wreath headress)
Rose Pink/Moss (Parcel)
I have used KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel" embossed cardstock, KI Memories "Holiday Collection" from 2006, the bauble brad is by Around the Block, Prima blossoms and some ribbon from my stash. I added some Sakura clear glitter gel pen to her hair and some Stickles "

Thanks Beatrix for the great sketch, and to the rest of the DT for their fab-u-lous (think Craig from Strictly Come Dancing....LOL) cards.

Something Different...

Here is a card I have been wanting to make for so long. I saw the character coloured like this on the hAnglar & stAnglar Blog earlier this year and thought it looked soooo cool, but back then I only had one grey pen....since then I have completed my ProMarker set, and have fifteen....yes all fifteen greys...LOL Now if someone had told me I would get them all, I would have laughed, but trust me it does make a difference having a range of greys especially when doing this card.
So I normally list all my colours, but this time I can't remember exactly which part was coloured with which pen, but I can tell you that I used Warm Grey 1/2/3/4 & 5. The papers used are PaperMania (star paper), 7Gypsies (text paper), DCWV white embossed cardstock. I have also used some random buttons from my stash (the stars were bought from Sandown craft show about 3 or more years ago), heart pin and some Bazzill tulle.....I love this stuff, and only found it recently after I got some in my December ScrapaGoGo DT kit....and now I have some in ten different colours...LOL. Finally I created the sentiment with Tim Holtz "Adage Tickets" and Making Memories "tiny alphas".

I am pleased that it turned out so well...you know how it is when you have had an idea in your head for ages...sometimes it never comes out as well as you had imagined it.

So recently I discovered a new crafting forum, run in the US and full of International Crafters...so check it out www.papercraftplanet.com and feel free to add me to your "friends"...I have even set up a hAnglar & stAnglar lovers group.

Daring Card Makers "Cafe Chic!"

This week over on the Daring Cardmakers! Challenge Blog, the theme is "Cafe Chic!". Now this theme had me stumped for a while, and then I remembered the cute Whiff of Joy stamp I had. I have coloured her with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Blush (Jumper)
Burnt Sienna/Ruby (Trousers)
Ruby (Mug)
All the papers are from the ScrapaGoGo October kit, and I have added the bling from my stash....the red bling heart is by MAMBI, the letters are stickers my Making Memories and the ticket is by Tim Holtz. The final touch was some Sakura clear glitter gel of her hair.

Check out the challenge, the DT cards are fab, and so different from each other....it always amazes me how we can all interpret a theme so differently. You might even win the prize......'cause I was one of last weeks winners, and will be getting a surprise from Karen @ Charmed Cards & Crafts.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 37 "Snow & Snowflakes"

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog the theme is "Snow + Snowflakes". for my card I have used a hAnglar image that I stamped at Marlene's (lucky me, I have the stamp on order at the moment). The image has been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...

Cocoa (Hair)
Pastel Green/Cool Aqua/Cool Grey 1 (Coat & Dress) The Green and Aqua have been blended together.
Rose Pink (Shoes, Gloves & Scarf)
Pastel Green/Cool Aqua/Rose Pink/Cool Grey 1 (Hat)
I have stamped snowflakes onto the background of the main image using a couple of the Magnolia Winter Club Kit stamps with Versamagic inks. The papers are all KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel", the paper ribbon is Narratives by Karen Russell for Creative Imaginations, heart pin bought from Michelle (SU Demonstrator & Craft Shop Owner) and the sentiment is one of the new ones from CatsLife Press (I love their seals). I have added Stickles to her wings and Sakura clear glitter gel pen to her hair....for a little added sparkle.

Pop on over to the Cute Card Thursday blog and see the awesomw DT cards.....it really is worth a visit if you have never looked.

Another Combined Challenge...

Time has been a little short this week, so in an effort to keep on top of everything I have combined a couple of challenges. I have combined the lovely sketch over on the Whiff of Joy challenge blog with the theme of "bloomin' marvelous" on the A Spoon Full of Sugar challenge blog.

Sor for my card I have used an image by Elisabeth Bell for Whiff ofg Joy, she is from the Lizzie & Herb collection. She has been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Umber (Hair)
Rose Pink/Lavender (Coat)
Lavender (Tights)
Amethyst (Ear Muffs/Muff)
Black/Amethyst (Boots)
The papers are all DCWV "Rose Tinted Christmas" and the cardstock is by Core-dinations. I added some Prima flowers with a brad and spacer (meeting the ASFOS theme), the paper ribbon is Narratived by Karen Russell for Creative Imaginations and the snowflake buttons are by Doodlebug. I have also added Stickles to the centre of the flower, and Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Lizzie's hair.

Both challenges are fab, and both DT's created some amazing cards....so go and check them out.

**ETA - Julie, a spacer is something used in beading...I assume you would thread it between beads...HTH**

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge "Time to Decorate"

This week over on the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog the theme is "Time to Decorate", and the DT have been busy making some cute ATC's. For mine I have used 4 different Magnolia stamps. First I stamped the "Silent Night" background and inked the card with VersaMagic "Wheat" dewdrop to give it an aged colour. Then I stamped the tree and coloured it with ProMarkers (Forest Green & Gold), cut it out. I also used the baubles from the Winter Club kit, stamped with Brilliance "platinum silver" and added them to the tree. Then I stamped Tilda (from the Winter Club Kit) and coloured her with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Vanilla (Top)
Ruby (Tights & Hair Ties)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
Tilda was then added in front of the tree with 3D foam pads for dimension. The ribbon is a scrap of American Craft and I added a heart pin. The finishing sparkle has been added with Stickles "Star Dust" glitter and gems from my stash, all topped off with a sentiment done with my ATB tape writer and some Core-dinations cardstock.

Come on over and join us. This week you don't have to use a character at all....but if you do it has to have a cute round face as usual.

Combined Challenges, Ismaki & Papertake Weekly

Life is hectic here this week, so when the Ismaki Sketch went up and the Papertake Weekly theme went up I decided to combine the two this week....well my GoGo December DT kit arrived (so lush) and I am working on those projects too. So for this card I have used two of the new Magnolia Winter Club Kit stamps, Tilda has been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Rose Pink/Lavender (Coat & Hat)
Rose Pink (Wellies & Mittens)
Metallic Silver/Amethyst (Bell with bow)
The papers are all DCWV "Rose Tinted Christmas", and I have also used some Core-dinations cardstock. Finally I added a stamped sentiment by Kelly Panacci, some bling and some paper lace which is Narratives by Karen Russell for Creative Imaginations.

I loved Isa's sketch over on Ismaki...check it out (link to the right), and the theme of Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow! was perfect for using my new Winter Club Kit....you know I need to make a card with them all as soon as I receive them...I just can't help myself.

Tonight I will be playing with my GoGo kit some more....I just need to get my ideas created before I end up getting distracted by something else...LOL

Magnolia v Stampavie Week 3 "Tie that Sketch"

This week over on the Magnolia v Stampavie Challenge Blog there is a sketch to work from. For my card I have used a couple of the new Winter Stamp Club images...Tilda & Edwin kissing under the mistletoe. All the stamped images have been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cinnamon (Hair)
Ruby/Vanilla/Cocoa (All Clothing)
Forest Green/Ruby (Mistletoe)
The red paper is by KI Memories from their "Holiday Collection " 2006, and the music paper is by KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel" from last year. I have also added Stampin' Up Choc Chip Taffeta ribbon (my last piece...boohoo) with a gold heart pin through the knot, string from Ikea and a Love Elsie "Noel" chipboard button. The sentiment and the calendar type stamp are both by Hampton Art "Katie & Co Holiday set". As a final touch of sparkle I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair. Quite a simple card from me as I kept the patterned paper to a minimum, but I am pleased with it. The card is quite bulky as there are a couple of layers of 3d foam....so maybe a card to give in person rather than in the post...LOL

Take a look at the blog, and see the lovely DT cards...well worth a quite visit.

Stampin' Up Note Card

Last night I went to Lynsey's for a Stampin' Up Party. There were six of us there, busy making stuff, and trying to decide which items we just HAD to order. I made this little "Thinking of You" card using the love notes, plus the taken with teal and rose red cardstock, plus the designer paper is from the pack in Choc Chip. It is a very simple card, but I love the colour combo. I ended up ordering the A4 cardstock in the colours I used above, plus a new reel of choc chip taffeta as I have run out, plus I ordered 2 packs of the Stampin' Spots in soft subtles and earth elements. I have already made another list for the next party, which I think one of the ladies is having after Christmas.

Daring Cardmakers "Birds, Birds, Birds"

Once again, in my quest to finish my Christmas cards I have interpreted the challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers Challenge Blog to make this Christmas card. I have used the Magnolia Tilda and Dove(yay a brd) from the "So Heavenly" range. The images have been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Pastel Yellow/Mustard (Hair)
Pastel Pink (Socks)
Cool Grey 1 (Highlights on the dress)

Pastel Blue (Shadow)
I have also used KI Memories "Holiday Collection" papers and stickers from 2006. The final touch was to add Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair and Stickles "Star Dust" to her wings.
Go check out the blog, the cards are all very different...from cute to arty....I have stuck with cute, as I just can't seem to get enough....

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 28 by Mumur of France

Here is my card using this weeks sketch over on Friday Sketchers. For my card I have used more of the Magnolia Christmas collection. I have coloured all the images with ProMarkers using the following colours...

Ruby (Pot)
Gold (Star)
GIFTS
Ruby
Rose Pink
Moss
The papers and stickers are all KI Memories "Holiday Collection" from 2006. Finally I added a button and some bling from my stash.

I rotated the sketch through 180 degrees as the placement would have been covering the tree in my image...I was having trouble visualising the sketch on the screen, so I drew it out and have to have it turned 180 on my desk to keep me on track...LOL

Check out the Friday Sketchers blog (link to the right), there are fab cards there for your inspiration.

Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Ruby (Socks/Top)
Vanilla (Dress)

To finish I have added a sentiment by Cats Life Press and some bling to the tree, plus some Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair and the tinsel, and raised the parcels that I cut from the paper up onto 3D foam.

As you would expect, the DT cards over on the Cute Card Thursday Blog are just so cute and gorgeous...so pop over and have a quick peek.....and even play along.

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge "Bring on the Bling!"

This week over on the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog the theme is "Bring on the Bling!" Make an ATC with sparkle and bling. For mine I have used two of the Xmas Magnolia's, Tilda has been sat on the large bauble using the masking technique. Tilda has been coloured with ProMarkers using the following few colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cinnamon/Cocoa (Hair)
Ruby/Vanilla (Dress)
Vanilla (Socks)
Ruby (Hat)
Metallic Gold (Bauble fixings)
I also used Stickles "Diamond" glitter to colour the bauble. The background paper is KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel" and I added a small piece of Stampin' Up Choc Chip taffeta and a sentiment by Kelly Panacci. To finish it off I have added some red gems to the notes and also as buttons on Tilda's dress.

Why not come over and join in, and take a break from card making with a quick and simple ATC....mine took about 30 mins to make (including colouring the image), plus drying time for the Stickles......I think I will make is into either a card topper or a gift tag as it is just to cute to hide away.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Dawny's Sketch #2

This week we have another sketch provided by Dawny. For my card I have used three Magnolia stamps. The main image consists of the "Silent Night" background stamp with Tilda as Lucia. To put Tilda in front of the background I masked. I have coloured her with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Pastel Yellow/Mustard (Hair)
Pastel Pink (Wreath in Hair)
Ruby (Dress)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
I then stamped the "Santa is Coming" circle sentiment and using the scalloped Stampin' Up punch, matted the sentiment. The papers are KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel". As a final touch I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair and the flame on the candle.

Such a simple, but stunning sketch....why not pop over and take a look at the fab DT cards.

Daring Card Makers "Sparkle & Bling"

For the first time ever I checked out the Daring Card Makers Challenge Blog...not sure why I have missed it in the past. Anyway, this week their challenge is "Sparkle & Bling" and as I am in the groove making Christmas cards, the theme fitted perfectly.

For this card I have used four Magnolia stamps. I masked twice to create the main image. I firstly stamped Tilda and her masked her and stamped the bauble, then I made a mask for the bauble and stamped over the who thing with the background stamp. The main image is coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cinnamon/Cocoa (Hair)
Ruby (Hat & Under Dress)
Vanilla (Socks & Over Dress)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
Metallic Gold (Bauble)
To finish off the main image I added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair and also Stickles "Diamond" glitter glue to the whole of the bauble, and boy does it sparke...although it is almost impossible to capture that on the photo. I have also used Stampin' Up Choc Chip cardstock, KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel" paper, and DCWV "Christmas Wishes" 6x6 paper pad. The final touches are a Magnolia "ticket" sentiment, a heart pin, a "made with love" heart charm, some Stampin' Up Choc Chip taffeta and some more bling.

I loved this challenge and will now add the blog to my list, and check back weekly.
