Another Baby Girl Card...

It's funny how in the last couple of months I have been asked to make/made 4 Baby Cards...3 Girls & 1 Boy. The girl ones were all for the same person to give to her friends... So here is the latest...
I love making these easel cards for Baby cards as I love to put the birth details behind the bingo card...makes them lovely keepsakes...well I think so, and thankful so did the New Mums that received them...

Been busy crafting over the BH weekend...made a few cute frames for Georgia's friends who were here for a sleepover on Saturday night...will show them soon.

Hope everyone else is enjoying the long weekend...even if the weather has been a mixed bag...

Duh....

So I totally forgot to share my card for last weeks Cute Card Thursday Challenge which was Paw Pals....so here is the card, plus another I made at the same time...
So this one was for the challenge....the Paws are on the bear at the bottom of the Easel Card. The main image is a pre-coloured digi from Clipart Fairy and the papers are all My Minds Eye Love Me.

So here is another variation I made at the same time...
Both were custom orders, I added more embellishment to the first one as it was for a friend to give to her "Bestest Friend in the World"...

Feedback was the both of the new Mummy's loved their cards and kept showing them off....I love it when people love my cards.

I have another new card to share tomorrow for this weeks challenge on CCT...better make sure I remember to actually share it....

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Easel Card...

Here is an easel card I made using an image from The Clipart Fairy. These images are already coloured, but my printer came out so pale that I have added some colour with my Copics using E000/E00/E11/R20.

The papers are all Craftwork Cards Sugar & Spice and I have added a butterfly sentiment also by Craftwork Cards, a ribbon bow and charm, AC Thickers, Melissa Frances rub-ons and a couple of pearl brads. The envelope contains a small card (with the same papers and image) and inside the name, date, time, weight etc can be added for the recipient to keep. The card was actually made for my next door neighbours who had their baby last Friday and only came home this week. She was chuffed with the card, and the little scrapbook I took for her to add pics to....a little brag book for her handbag...every new Momma needs a brag book.

I am entering this card into the challenge on Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge as they want you to make an easel card.

Cards for the birth of twins!!

One of the Mum's of Georgia's school friend has just given birth to twins, and I wanted to make her a couple of cards. I initially was going to make one card with both of these images by The Clipart Fairy, but decided that the babies would be made to share so much in their life, that giving them a card each was the best way to go. These cute images come pre-coloured and with matching spotted papers. I have also used some kraft cardstock and co-ordinating coloured cardstock for matting and layering. They are both embellished with a mixture of Doodlebug shaped buttons, Fancy Pants decorative pins, American Craft satin ribbons, bling, buttons and AC fabric Thickers.

Be sure to come back here tomorrow as Anyone for Anya? are having a Birthday Blog Hop....and along with our regular sponsor, each of the DT will have a candy to give away to all those who take part.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Dawny's Sketch

Here is a card I made with last weeks sketch over on Papertake Weekly. For my card I have used one of my new Pink Gem Stamps coloured with Copics. The papers are all by Heidi Grace, and they are gorgeous...a mixtire of flocked, shimmer and regular papers and they are all layered using Core-Dinations cardstock that I have sanded the edges of. I also added a sentiment from http://www.sirstampalot.co.uk/ and buttons by Doodlebug & Fancy Pants.

The card is for my hairdresser (she buys some cards from me) to give to her friend who's having a baby girl this month.

Thanks to Dawny for the sketch and the rest of the DT for their inspiration.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 24 by Heidi

This week over on Friday Sketchers there is a fab sketch provided by Heidi. For my card I used one of the new Pink Collection from Magnolia, which finally arrived from Sweden this morning. They made mistake with my order and sent me 2 stamps incorrectly...although I now have one of the new Christmas 2008 stamps before they are available....and have just ordered the missing one from a UK store. Anyway, back to my card, for the first time I have tried my hand at colouring a different skin tone, and for a first attempt I am really pleased with it. The stamp is Tilda in Striped Tights coloured with my ProMarkers using the following colours...
Cinnamon (Skin)
Umber (Hair)
Rose Pink (Hairband, Dress & Tights)
Pastel Blue (T-Shirt & Shadow)
Cinnamon (Bench)
I have used Kelly Pannaci papers and stickers by Sandylion, ribbon by Stampin' Up and American Craft.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 21 by Mumur from France

Here is a card I made today using the sketch over on Friday Sketchers. This weeks sketch was provided by Mumur from France. For my card I have used a Halloween stamp by hAnglar & stAnglar. All the papers are by Little Yellow Bicycle "Frightful". The diecuts pumpkin, stars and sentiment are all from the same paper pad bought from Capture the Magic at Ally Pally on Saturday. So now I have made 2 cards with new stash....a record for me to use it so quickly. I used ProMarkers to colour the stamped images, colours as follows..

Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Black/Amethyst (Dress, Hat & Shoes)
Pumpkin/Marsh Green (Pumpkins)
Cocoa (Hair)
Ice Grey 2 (Box)

Today my Winter Club Kit from hAnglar & stAnglar arrived after being posted on 19th, so I have already cut them out ready to play with...the boy on the bicycle is just so darn cute with his backward facing cap. So now I am only waiting for the cute Sommar 2008 stamps that include the boy with the guitar.....he is one of my faves.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 29 "Lots of Sparkle"

Ok, so finally I am back, after my mammouth cleaning session, and a fantabulous weekend visit from Marlene...including a trip to Ally Pally for the day to attend the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show...OMG it was amazing....but I will be back later to show pics and tell all...

So back to this card. You may not believe it, but I made this card last night all with new stash received/bought this weekend. So the papers are the uber new Prima Marketing "Peaches" which I got from Scrap Revolution at Ally Pally (they sold out after I showed them to Marlene and people saw that there was a matching stamp. The pad is so cute and includes pages with cut out windows. The image is also by Prima, stamped with Versafine and with added Sakura Clear Glitter Gel Pen to the swirls and obviously some BLING..... The flower was this months freebie on the Craft Stamper magazine got for me by Marlene, and coloured with ProMarkers....I used Pastel Pink (inner flower)
Ruby (centre and outer flower)
Pastel Blue (shadow outline)

I added copious amounts of the Sakura Clear Glitter Gel Pen and added bling too. Finally I added a new sentiment stamp that I got at the show on the Sir StampAlot stall which is by Hero Arts.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 4 - Buttons & Brads

This weeks challenge over on Penny Black Saturday Challenge blog is "Buttons & Brads", use one or both of them. I have used some cute teddy Penny Blacks that I have had for years, I think I got them about 3 years ago....and have hardly used them as I stopped making cards using stamps for ages. I have also used Basic Grey "Sugared" papers with American Craft Ric Rac, the rubons are so old I don't know who made them, and the letters in the teddy were stamped using Banana Frog "Pharmacy" alpha stamps. The buttons and brads are from Doodlebug & Karen Foster....so I can tell you are searching for the brads...well one of the buttons is a button brad...hehehehe.

The card is being given to one of the members of staff at one of my clients as she is due to go off on maternity leave a few days after my visit this month. She is definately having a girl and has a name chosen already. I am going to make her a mini book to add pictures and info to keep in her handbag...I love little brag books.

Cards for Little Ones/New Babies

Here are a couple of cards I made the other evening. I have already done this card in blue and pink...but when I coloured it in lilac it looks so cute I just had to make another card. I used Tilda in the tub stamp again, See D's cute as a cutton stamp, Junkitz papers, Bazzill cardstock, Doodlebug button, SU scalloped punch and I used a Sakura stardust gel pen to add some sparke to the wings and bubbles.
The next card is made using the Tilda on a cloud stamp, Junkitz papers, Bazzill cardstock, Doodlebug & American Craft buttons, American Craft ribbon. I am calling it "Heaven Sent"...I want to add a sentiment, but am waiting for something in the post....and it's not here yet. Again, I have kept it neutral enough so that it can be adapted for a new baby or first birthday...or even a 2nd birthday....

I received my first order from Magnolia today. I ordered direct on 11th February and then heard lots of comments about orders never received, and taking months to arrive, so I was a little surprised when the postie dropped them through the letterbox this morning. I did however have duplicates, having purchased them from shops in the UK. I didn't need to worry though as the five/six duplicates were sold within an hour....will have duplicates in the next order, so fingers crossed they sell as quickly. So after all that I checked my emails this morning to see that my Paypal account was hacked last night and someone had sent 2 payments totalling $1800 from my credit card. I spent most of the morning filing claims with Paypal, thankfully they noticed last night and place limitations on my account so that they couldn't take anymore money. Unfortuately they cancelled 2 genuine payments that I made last night too....so I had to sort those out too.... So now passwords have been changed and details checked, and fingers crossed I won't have to deal with anything like it again.
