Ismaki Challenge #11 of 2009 by Kiki

Over on the Ismaki Challenge Blog the fab sketch has been provided by Kiki...with the option of using flowers. If you do this you can be in with a chance of winning a £15 gift certificate for The Craft Barn.
For my card I have used one of the new Spring 2009 Stamp Club from Magnolia. I have coloured Tilda with Distress Inks using the following colours....
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Worn Lipstick/Black Soot (Everything else)
For the wings I used H2o and then added some stickles in "Star Dust" over the top.
The papers were all from a random paper pad that I got last week at the NEC HobbyCraft show. The blossoms are by Imaginese and Meiflower, and I added a Doodlebug brad to the middle, the "sweet" ticket is by Teresa Collins.

Below is also a picture of the decorated inside...
I just received the post and more stunning birthday cards arrived this morning from DawnyP and Debby4000 also from my Mother in Law Pam and a lovely card from my Dad....not handmade, but with lovely words inside. If I know my Dad I know that is partially a fluke...LOL Thanks so much to everyone who has sent me a handmade card, they really are amazing.
Hugs,

Ismaki Challenge #009 of 2009 By Kianel

This week over on the Ismaki Challenge Blog there is a lovely sketch provided by Kianel. For my card I have used one of my hAnglar & stAnglar stamps coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours...

Tattered Rose (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair & Shoes)
Peeled Paint (T-Shirt)
Faded Jeans (Jeans)
Tea Dye (Guitar)
The papers are all DCWV Rockstar and were in a large assorted pad I got from QVC during Craft Day last week. The stamp is by Hero Arts, and the LP die-cut is from http://www.shabbychiccrafts.com/ they do some fab die-cuts. I have also used my Cuttlebug to cut the nestabilities star, and to emboss the music background that I have sanded.

I have also decorated the inside in the same papers...as you can see below...

I loved this sketch and am pleased with the finished card.....I don't do enough male/boy cards. I got loads of lovely mail this morning....will be back with details later.

Ismaki Challenge #007 2009 by Manue

Finally I have finished my card using this weeks sketch over on the Ismaki Challenge Blog. This week the sketch has been provided by Manue and has the option to use Pink/Blue. For my card I have used one of The Greeting Farm stamp sets called "Cake Topper" for the main image and for the sentiment. Both images have been coloured with Distress Inks and I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to the brides hair. The papers are by Paper Mania "Simply Elegant", I have also used a Maya Road Velvet Blossom, some Kaiser Craft pearls, swirls cut using a Quickutz revolution flourish die and some gorgeous pleated ribbon...that I pinched (with permission) from Marlene's ribbon mountain.
Here is a picture of the inside decorated with lots of the leftover scraps......I think it really does finish off the card beautifully. I have also used a small section of the stamp in the corner to finish it off.....with more swirls.
Here is a closeup of the small image at the bottom on the inside.

Ismaki Challenge #006 2009 by Kiki

This week over on the Ismaki Challenge Blog there is a lovely sketch, this week provided by Kiki. For my card I have used threee Magnolia stamos from the Love Collection 2009, each image has been stamped onto hot pressed paper and coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair & Dungarees)
Vintage Photo (Puppy)
Fired Brick (Top, Heart, XO & Shoes)
Old Paper (Notepaper)
Weathered Wood (Shadow)
The papers are by Basic Grey "Ambrosia" and I have also used some American Craft ribbon, 2 heart pins and some bling from my stash. The sentiment is by Stampin' Up from the "Best Yet" Hostess Set.

Such a lovely sketch, I have rotated it through 90 degrees so that it worked with my main image.

More snow again in the early hours of this morning....the wet slushy stuff...I managed to slip and hurt my ankle and bottom, and now it hurts if I sit for too long....so I have taken some pain killers and I am off to take the weight off my butt.....boy do I feel foolish, thankfully nobody saw me....as far as I know....unless they were all laughing from behind their curtains.

Ismaki Challenge #005 of 2009

This week over on the Ismaki Blog, Isa has provided us with a fab sketch. For my card I have used 2 hAnglar & stAnglar images and also a couple of Magnolia's too. I have coloured all the images with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair)
Fired Brick & Black Soot (All clothing, "Be Mine" & Heart Notepad)
I first coloured the notepad image which is from the new Magnolia Love Collection, and I then stamped it again and cut around it to make a template for the other images. The papers are Basic Grey "Ambrosia", KI Memories "School Days", My Minds Eye "Confetti". Then I added the circle in bling from my stash and placed the "Be Mine", also from the Magnolia Love Collections, inside the bling circle. It is such a simple sketch, but I really love it....think I will certainly be using it again.

Pop on over and check it out.....there is even a prize again this week.

Ismaki Challenge #003 of 2009

Over on the Ismaki Blog there is another fab sketch, this week provided by Kiki, and the chance to win a voucher from The Craft Barn. for my card I have used Angel Anya from The Greetings Farm...again, I just can't get enough of her. She has been coloured with Distress Inks in the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Work Lipstick (Hair & Cheeks)
China Blue (Dress, Bow & Eyeshadow)
The papers are all by Fancy Pants, blossoms by Prima, the pink buttons are also by Fancy Pants and the other is a random one from my stash, all finished off with a Hero Arts "coupon" sentiment stamp and a white heart pin with a little piece of ribbon on.

I decided Anya went so well with the sentiment as she looks like she is blowing kisses. Thanks Kiki, the sketch as always is fab and the DT cards are stunning, and all so different.

Ismaki Challenge #001 of 2009

So here is the card I made with the image I coloured on Sunday @ Marlene's. I had started to make a card with the image, but when I saw the sketch on Ismaki it just seemed to work for me.
The main image is two hAnglar & stAnglar images (masked) coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours (If I can remember them...LOL)
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Faded Jeans (Trousers & Waistcoat)
Shabby Shutters (Tie)
Black Soot (Boys Hair)
Peeled Paint & Shabby Shutters (Dress/Shoes/Socks)
Worn Lipstick (Hairbannd/Bloomers)
The only two colours that I can't remember are the boys shoes and the girls hair.....I am sure Marlene would remember. **ETA Frayed Burlap (Boys Shoes) & Vintage Photo (Girls Hair)...Thanks Marlene**
The papers were also from Marlene's stash (she sent me home with them as I coloured the image to match them...LOL) and are Imaginisce "Loves Me", and the only other things I have added are the Making Memories mini alpha stickers, a stamped swirl (Fancy Pants stamped with Versamark and rubbed over with irridescent chalk ink) and finally added bling.

Well it was back to school and work for Georgia and I....felt weird this morning....and not good weird...LOL. But need those pennies to buy new rubba....and help with the bills obviously.....LOL

This weather is making it impossible for me to get warm. It was -4 celsius at 4.30pm when I went out to take Georgia to gymnastics and by the time I got home 30 minutes later it was -5. The road we live on is now solid ice as the snow never cleared before the ice set in. I have phoned the council in the vain hope that they will send someone to grit it even though it is only a residential road.....so fingers crossed they will do something about it. Tonight I am determined to get back into the crafting groove and make something tonight.....the holidays have played havoc with my routine.

Hope you are all staying warm.
Hugs

Combined Challenges, Ismaki & Papertake Weekly

Life is hectic here this week, so when the Ismaki Sketch went up and the Papertake Weekly theme went up I decided to combine the two this week....well my GoGo December DT kit arrived (so lush) and I am working on those projects too. So for this card I have used two of the new Magnolia Winter Club Kit stamps, Tilda has been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Rose Pink/Lavender (Coat & Hat)
Rose Pink (Wellies & Mittens)
Metallic Silver/Amethyst (Bell with bow)
The papers are all DCWV "Rose Tinted Christmas", and I have also used some Core-dinations cardstock. Finally I added a stamped sentiment by Kelly Panacci, some bling and some paper lace which is Narratives by Karen Russell for Creative Imaginations.

I loved Isa's sketch over on Ismaki...check it out (link to the right), and the theme of Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow! was perfect for using my new Winter Club Kit....you know I need to make a card with them all as soon as I receive them...I just can't help myself.

Tonight I will be playing with my GoGo kit some more....I just need to get my ideas created before I end up getting distracted by something else...LOL

Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Pastel Yellow/Mustard/Gold (Hair)
Cool Aqua (Top)
Cornflower (Jeans)

I made this card while visiting with Marlene and her gorgeous family...so used all her stash...how lucky am I! The papers are from TLC, I also used velvet paper for the scalloped shape, finished off with Prima flowers, a velvet Heidi Grace flower and an assortment of flower punches.

We had such a wonderful couple of days. Marlene and I crafted together, I helped her re-organise her craft room.....well I gave her new storage ideas. We had such fun and I cannot wait until we get the chance to do it again.

Ismaki Challenge 33 by Beatrix

This week over on the Ismaki Blog the sketch has been provided by the lovely Beatrix. She also gave us the option of using leaves, and for the first time ever, I have managed to add the option.

For my card I have used October Afternoon "Country Fayre" papers, from October 2007 ScrapaGoGo Kit....and lush the kit was, not difficult with these gorgeous papers. I have used one of my new hAnglar & stAnglar Winter Club Kit stamps and coloured her with ProMarkers as follows...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Maroon/Sandstone (Scarf/Hat/Dress)
Umber/Maroon (Shoes)
Spice (Basket)
Ruby (Hearts)

I have also added some Sakura clear glitter gel pen to the hair and hearts. The ribbon is by American Craft and the flowers are by Prima....cannot believe I actually used FIVE without hyper-ventilating...LOL, under the top flower stack I have added a Maya Road charm that says "love". Finally I have finished it off with a sentiment by Printworks that I got at Ally Pally from Stamp Addicts, punched out with a circle punch and chalked with a little Sakura glitter gel pen as a finishing touch.

Check out the Ismaki Blog, there are cards from some very talented International card makers.

Today I finally managed to get a mirror for the bathroom so that this evening we can finally finish off the bathroom.

Ismaki #30

Ok, so I usually avoid the tricky sketches, but last night I bit the bullet and tried this weeks.
And here it is.....I have used a gorgeous Elisabeth Bell stamp from Whiff of Joy with a sentiment by Hero Arts. The papers are My Minds Eye, with the lace from the August ScrapaGoGo kit. The flowers are all by Prima with spacers kindly given to me by the gorgeous and stunning Marlene, held together with brads from my stash. I didn't like this initally and after looking at it for almost an hour, I added some Autumn Leaves swirl stamps to the plain bits...and now I think it is much better.

I have been asked a couple of times to list the colours I have used...so here goes. All are ProMarkers as follows...

Ivory, Vanilla & Blush (Face)
Cocoa (Hair)
Blossom (Jumper)
Amethyst (Trousers)
Cornflower (Mug & Socks)

Not sure if I will make another like it, as I don't think it's my style, but it's always good to try new things.

Ismaki Challenge 27 by Manue

This weeks sketch over on Ismaki has been provided by Manue. Here is my card, I have used one of the Summer & Sea Collection stamps by Magnolia together with the sun & cloud stamp by Sugar Nellie. The papers are by Basic Grey "Euphoria", the ribbon is by HobbyCraft and the flat back pearls are Crystal Stickers.

I have coloured tilda with my Prismacolor's and blended with Sansador using paper stumps. I have added "French Blue" chalk ink to the edges of all the papers and image, with "Ice Blue" to the background of the image to make it less white and more like sky.

I loved the sketch this week, making a pocket in the papers by not sticking one side of the patterned paper was neat, and a cool place to put the sentiment. I have also used an A5 card instead of my usual square card (5.75" x 5.75", so that you can make it from a sheet of A4 cardstock).

Thanks Manue, another gorgeous sketch.

First Card with my new Summer Stamp Club Magnolia's

This weeks sketch over on Ismaki Challenge Blog is by Beatrix, and as always is fab, so what better excuse did I need to use my new Summer Stamp Club Magnolia's that arrived yesterday. I mean how is a girl to resist using some of her favourite ones immediately...well the same day.
I have used Waiter Edwin, the Champagne Bucket and the Lanterns. The papers are Sassafras Lass "Serendipity" and the sentiment is by Hero Arts. The middle of the sentiment and the champage bucket are raised on 3d foam, and I have also added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to the lanterns, the fixx in the glasses, Edwins belt buckle and I made some bubbles in the bottles that are in the bucket, and also to the "{}" on the sentiment.
I still cannot believe the value of the Magnolia Club Kits at approx £25 for the 16 stamps....it works out a mere £1.55 (ish) per stamp...Bargain!

Ismaki Challenge 25 by Malin

This weeks challenge over on the Ismaki Challenge Blog was set my Malin. It was such a pretty sketch involving the criss cross of ribbons/paper/fibres. So here is my card. I have used one of my new Sarah Kay stamps, the papers are the new Basic Grey "Euphoria" and I also added some pearls. The sentiment is by Stampin' Up and I used my punches for the circles. I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to her hair. I want to try the more watercoloured look on her, but I am not so good...need to practice, maybe in July I can get a one on one lesson with Marlene.....
