Sketch Saturday - Sketch #26

Here is a card I made using the lovely skech over on the Sketch Saturday Challenge Blog. For my card I have used the Tilda from the Winter Club Kit and the lampost is from the Christmas collection. I have coloured both the images with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Ruby (Coat , Boots & Hat)
Vanilla (Gloves & Tights)
Metallic Silver/Rose Pink (Bell)
Cool Grey 4/Gold (Lampost)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)

The papers are KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel", with buttons by Doodlebug and the sentiment and other stamped images are by Kelly Panacci and Hampton Art respectively. Finally I added Stickles for the snow and Sakura clear glitter gel to Tilda's hair.

I had a lovely day with the family yesterday, and came home with something incredibly precious. My Dad let me have my Mum's engagement and eternity rings. Now neither have huge financial value, but their sentimental value is priceless. The engagement ring is mis-shaped and the band has thinned and the eternity ring is missing a small diamond. I have decided to take them to the jewellers to be cleaned and the engagement ring reshaped and the band strengthened. Dad also let Georgia have one of Mums necklaces...a little 9ct gold ragdoll (I am sure it was one I got for her) and Georgia says it is very precious and that she will take great care of it...bless her. My Sister also got one of Mum's rings...a band with carved letters spelling "Love"...also in need to strengthening due to years of wear...but it was a ring my Sister has always loved and seemed fitting that it went to her. I stood with Dad reminising, and both of us were close to tears. This year will be our 5th Christmas without her, and we still miss her as much as ever....does that feeling ever leave you?

So I am busy getting things ready for the Christmas Bazaar at Georgia's school.....I am in the crafting area...no surprise there...LOL

Combined Challenges, Ismaki & Papertake Weekly

Life is hectic here this week, so when the Ismaki Sketch went up and the Papertake Weekly theme went up I decided to combine the two this week....well my GoGo December DT kit arrived (so lush) and I am working on those projects too. So for this card I have used two of the new Magnolia Winter Club Kit stamps, Tilda has been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Rose Pink/Lavender (Coat & Hat)
Rose Pink (Wellies & Mittens)
Metallic Silver/Amethyst (Bell with bow)
The papers are all DCWV "Rose Tinted Christmas", and I have also used some Core-dinations cardstock. Finally I added a stamped sentiment by Kelly Panacci, some bling and some paper lace which is Narratives by Karen Russell for Creative Imaginations.

I loved Isa's sketch over on Ismaki...check it out (link to the right), and the theme of Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow! was perfect for using my new Winter Club Kit....you know I need to make a card with them all as soon as I receive them...I just can't help myself.

Tonight I will be playing with my GoGo kit some more....I just need to get my ideas created before I end up getting distracted by something else...LOL

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge "Bring on the Bling!"

This week over on the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog the theme is "Bring on the Bling!" Make an ATC with sparkle and bling. For mine I have used two of the Xmas Magnolia's, Tilda has been sat on the large bauble using the masking technique. Tilda has been coloured with ProMarkers using the following few colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cinnamon/Cocoa (Hair)
Ruby/Vanilla (Dress)
Vanilla (Socks)
Ruby (Hat)
Metallic Gold (Bauble fixings)
I also used Stickles "Diamond" glitter to colour the bauble. The background paper is KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel" and I added a small piece of Stampin' Up Choc Chip taffeta and a sentiment by Kelly Panacci. To finish it off I have added some red gems to the notes and also as buttons on Tilda's dress.

Why not come over and join in, and take a break from card making with a quick and simple ATC....mine took about 30 mins to make (including colouring the image), plus drying time for the Stickles......I think I will make is into either a card topper or a gift tag as it is just to cute to hide away.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 24 by Heidi

This week over on Friday Sketchers there is a fab sketch provided by Heidi. For my card I used one of the new Pink Collection from Magnolia, which finally arrived from Sweden this morning. They made mistake with my order and sent me 2 stamps incorrectly...although I now have one of the new Christmas 2008 stamps before they are available....and have just ordered the missing one from a UK store. Anyway, back to my card, for the first time I have tried my hand at colouring a different skin tone, and for a first attempt I am really pleased with it. The stamp is Tilda in Striped Tights coloured with my ProMarkers using the following colours...
Cinnamon (Skin)
Umber (Hair)
Rose Pink (Hairband, Dress & Tights)
Pastel Blue (T-Shirt & Shadow)
Cinnamon (Bench)
I have used Kelly Pannaci papers and stickers by Sandylion, ribbon by Stampin' Up and American Craft.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 30 "Buttons & Bows"

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog the theme is "Buttons & Bows". Feeling totally inspired by Marlene's gorgeous Christmas Tree....I so wanted to copy, but couldn't find a tree stamp that worked....so finally gave up. For my card I have used one of my new High Hopes stamps, with a sentiment by Kelly Panacci. The papers are from the new DCWV Xmas Paper Stack and I have used some of the new core-dinations cardstock that I got yesterday. With added buttons from my stash and American Craft ribbons tied into bows....and of course some added bling.

Ok, so I better get back to crafting.....plenty of time to surf later.....or Sunday maybe. Have a great weekend everyone.

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #19

This week over on Sketch Saturday there is a lovely sketch provided by DT member Gill. For my card I have made another Christmas card, this time using a stamp by CC Designs that I got yesterday from Silly Monkey Crafts. I have coloured the image with my ProMarkers using the following colours..
Cinammon/Sandstone (Puppy)
Ruby/Rose Pink/Pastel Pink/Lime Green (Parcels)
Ruby/Lime Green (Party Hat)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
I have used more of the K&Co "Peppermint Twist" papers with MM Ric Rac, ATB Brad and Prima Blossoms. To the Prima blossom I have added a PM Brad and and a spacer with a little added Stickles to fill in the blank space.

Thanks for a fan sketch Gill.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 30 "Christmas Animals"

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday the challenge is to make a Christmas Animal card. As luck would have it I bought on last weekend at Ally Pally. The stamp is by Creative Expressions and I have coloured it with my ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ice Grey 1 (Fur)
Blush (Nose)
Gold (Star)
Ruby/Gold/Lime Green (Lights)

I have used more of the K&Co "Peppermint Twist" papers, this time choosing more of the green/red colours as opposed to the pinker ones last time. I have added American Craft ribbon, Prima flowers and a few gems, finished off with a sentiment by Kelly Panacci " We Believe in Santa". When I coloured him, I tried to use uneven strokes with the pen to make his fur look more dimensional.

Went to a Stampin' Up party last night and got to see the new catalogue. Sadly SU didn't let the demonstrators order from the new catalogue befoe Oct, so we couldn't see many of the new sets....I think they only allowed them to see 4 of the new sets. I ordered the cleaning mat, the "Crazy for Cupcakes" set and the new "Tab stamps" that match their tab punch (which I already had)...been wanting the stamp cleaning pad for a while, so looking forward to it arriving.

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge 19 "Sketch by Camilla"

This week over on A Spoon Full of Sugar we have been provided with a sketch by Camilla, and a cute sketch it is too.

For my card I have used a hAnglar & stAnglar image from the Winter Club Kit and coloured her with my ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Lime Green/Ruby/Pastel Pink (All clothing)
Ice Grey 1 (Highlight Cloud)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)

I have also added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to the hair, wings, heart and cloud. The papers are all by K&Co "Peppermint Twist". I have also added Prima flowers and snowflake, and I have added some Stickles to the snowflake and flower centre for extra Christmas sparkle...topped off with gems dotted around and a sentiment by Kelly Panacci.

I am really pleased with the finished results, and I love the LO of the card...so huge thanks for Camilla for the sketch. Georgia told me both my cards from last night were "fantabulous"....how cute is she...

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #16

I noticed a new (to me) Challenge Blog called Sketch Saturday and I do love a good sketch, so decided to play along....and here is my card.

I love the new Forever Friends range, I bought a few of the 6x6 Paper Pads...they are fab. I have used one of the Christmas ones here. The main image has been created by cutting up one of the sheets of paper. The sentiments are by Stampendous (Happy Holidays) and Kelly Panacci (No Peeking). With added bling from my stash to finish it off.

So if you can't afford the stamps, get the pad at £3.99 and there are plenty of images that can be cut to make a focal point on your cards.

WOW..a comment from a real scrapbooking celeb...

I am in shock, fancy getting a message saying that the uber talented Kelly Panacci had read my blog AND left me a comment. As you can see below the August ScrapaGoGo Kit contained her Q&A range. I personally loved them as did all the DT, in fact I used most of them, and had to order myself another set from the US as I couldn't find any over here. Kelly personally joined the ScrapaGoGo Clubhouse and has been leaving lovely comments on the Design Teams work, and messages on the board. I have it on good authority (Lorraine) that she ran out of time today...she has numerous deadlines for 2008 designs, but that she will come back and leave more comments on DT work...how friggin' awesome is that! I cannot wait to see what she has in store for 2008, and hope that I get to see them in a ScrapaGoGo Kit.

August GoGo Create...

Well as all the subscribers would confirm...the kits just keep getting better. I really loved the Kelly Panacci Q&A papers in this months kit...so much so that I had to buy more. Here are my creations this month...

I was inspired by these papers to let Georgia journal on my LO. She did such a wonderful job, and I am left with a wonderful keepsake of her writing, and the things she loves.

I had wanted to do a round LO since seeing one on the Pencil Lines Blog, I completed my first one at the Thornham Retreat and loved them so much that I did another with the August Kit.

Another first for me....a 6x12 LO featuring Hannah, Georgia and James...such a cheeky picture just begged to be scrapped.

And my final item was using the large Bazzill tag that came with the kit.

I thoroughly enjoyed using the August Kit, as I am sure all the subscribers are right this minute.
