Cute Card Thursday Challenge 6 "It's a Man's World"

I made this card last night for this weeks challenge over on Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog, I already had the image coloured, so it was a bit of a cheat this week. We were out all day Friday, Saturday I was doing scrapping for DT & mag work and Sunday was a family christening.

Anyway, back to this card. I have used a cute Hanglar & StAnglar stamped image that I received in a swap, the sentiment is by Hero Arts. The papers are a mixture of K&Co "Hopscotch Boy" and Basic Grey "Cupcake".

Thanks ladies for another fab challenge, look forward to seeing what you come up with for us for the next challenge.

Sending You My Love Card

Here is a card I made last night in between ScrapaGoGo DT work and magazine work.

For this card I used Tilda with love rice stamp & Heart Tag by Magnolia, the sentiment stamp is by Stampin' Up. The papers are Basic Grey "Sugared" and the ribbon is from HobbyCraft. As usual I coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and Sansador.

April 2008 ScrapaGoGo DT work...

I was really pleased with my designs this month, and received lovely feedback. Firstly I did this layout of my DD and her friend with a halloween picture. Although the picture was from halloween it really works well with the MM 5th Avenue range that was in the kit.

My next layout featured pictures of Georgia taken in the park...snotty nosed and still darn cute.

And finally my PDF class for this month was to make a mini book from the MM Journalling Book. This is a great way to make a quick and easy mini book for those of you that are nervous about making your own. All you need to do is remove and use some of the pages, add pictures and decorate. It even has a cool acetate cover that you can decorate....how on trend and it is already there for you.

This month kit is equally as lush, a mix of papers from Sassafras, Prima, Scenic Route, Pink Paislee & Luxe Designs. If you want to find out more, click on the ScrapaGoGo icon to the right and check the kits out.

Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge "Wet & Windy"

This weeks challenge over on Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog is "Wet & Windy". I had just received this stamp from Sir Stampalot and the challenge was the perfect chance to use it.

I used Basic Grey "Cupcake" papers and that was about it really. I stamped her four times onto different papers, once on plain white paper so that I could colour her face and hair, once onto the "sprinkles" paper so that I could cut out her dress, once onto the yellow to cut out her wellies and finally onto the pale blue/white paper so that I could get all the windy swirls and line up all the pieces. The only other things I did were add Sakura Stardust Glitter Gel Pen to the wings and in her hair and some of the swirls and flowers, and added "Summer Breeze" with my Zig Writer.

Wooaaahhh Nellie...

Sorry, couldn't resist the title. Here is a card I finished last night with my Lola with Bird stamp....thought I would have a play with my Lola stamps as they were feeling sad that Tilda was getting all the attention.

I used Prismacolor's with Sansador to colour the Lola image, the papers are Basic Grey "Phoebe", the ribbon is from Stampin' Up (Choc Chip Taffeta) and the sentiment was done using Hero Arts stamps.

Sugar Nellie - Penelope Challenge Kit

I received this Sugar Nellie Challenge Kit yesterday from Funky Kits. It contained one of the new Rachelle stamps...Penelope. The papers are soooo fresh and bright and are by Heidi Grace....all other items were my own....I used a piece of freebie ribbon from a box of Tesco Finest Chocolates, the blossom is by Bo Bunny, the buttons are Doodlebug, American Craft and misc, and the cardstock is DCWV.

I loved the papers, they were perfectly matched to the image stamps. The Challenge kit is now out of stock, but more stamps are on order...so if you want one pop over to http://www.funkykits.co.uk/ and ask for email notification for when they are back in stock.

Another Hanglar Card...

I love this image...sadly it is not one that I own, but a very Special Lady (you know who you are...) sent me some stamped images, and I am using them sparingly, as I don't want to use them all up.

The other items used are a sentiment stamp by Stampin' Up, Blossom is by Heidi Swapp, button and dotty flower by Making Memories and the papers are K&Co "Roam".

**ETA - Kim, I coloured the image with Prismacolor's & Sansador....LOL**

Arty Girlz Challenge 30 "Ribbons"

I didn't have a lot of time and wanted to make a quick thank you for a friend...so instead of a card I opted for an ATC. It turns out that it fits with this weeks theme on Arty Girlz..."ribbons".

I have used a Hanglar & StAnglar image, and the sentiment is by Hero Arts, Provocraft papers "Beyond Birthdays" (for the cricut) and the ribbons are from HobbyCraft...and a bargain at 99p for a reel containing 3 metres.

More from me...

Been busy crafting again yesterday afternoon and evening. Georgia and I went to Lynsey's where we had dinner with her, Melissa and Catherine as Paul was away on business. Once dinner was out of the way we spent the evening colouring stamped images....all of us girls together.

So here is the first image I coloured and made into a card. The stamps are Tingla and the baby tag from Magnolia and the sentiment is by Hero Arts. The papers are Basic Grey "Two Scoops" and the ribbon is by American Craft. I am not sure if it is too plain or not, but I know that if I muck around with it too much I will end up ruining it.

Tilda & Co Challenge 15 - Ribbon Galore

This weeks challenge over of Tilda & Co Challenge Blog was to use ribbon on your Magnolia project. So this week I have made a little pull up "Thank You" card. I have used a new Tilda with flower from the Spring 2008 release, plus a tag stamp, also from Magnolia. The papers are Basic Grey "Two Scoops" and the ribbons are both by Making Memories. I have coloured the image with Prismacolor pencils and Sansador.

I had a lovely day yesterday with the family. My Sister is dealing with a few health issues at the moment which involes waiting for test results. When I arrived after my 2 hour drive (it is usually about 1 hour 10 mins drive) I was greeted by a huge hug from my little sis...She has not hugged me like that since Mum died almost five years ago. I think she just needed it, and it was the best hug I have had in a while. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the test results are good news.

Today Georgia and I had a fun day just crafting and watching TV. David went off to work this morning for a quick visit to make sure all was OK after the weekends work. He then went to another company he knows for a quick interview, and was offered a job....so at least that is one thing less to worry about.

Another Magnolia Card

I love this little Chic Tilda by Magnolia, and to think the first time I saw it, I didn't buy her....what the heck was I thinking?? Good job I got her in the end anyway as I keep wanting to use her. So this card is again using Provocraft "Beyond Birthdays" papers that are in a pad for the Cricut. The sentiment stamps are by Hero Arts (balloon) and the parcel is by SeeD's. The ribbon is American Craft...I have a load of their ribbons that I am trying to actually use rather than just stroke.

OK, so yesterday we went Ice Skating...now I have not been for over 20 years and even though I am overweight and unfit...I stayed on my feet the whole time...even if it was a struggle. So just to prove that I am not telling porkie pies...here are a couple of photos David took. He was pretty useless and didn't take enough...and most of those that he did take were out of focus due to poor light.
Finally a group shot of all us girls...the brave crew who actually skated rather than the wussy boy who took pictures...LOL.

Gotta Love Penny Black

I am lovin' my new Cinnamon Penny Black stamp. I have always loved these funky girl ones...but the newer ones have proper arms rather than sticks...

For this card I have used the same Provocraft Cricut papers "Beyond Birthdays". The image is coloured with Prismacolors and Sansador, the only other items used are chalk ink and a Hero Arts sentiment.

Tilda and Friends ATC Challenge "Cooking it Up"

Here is my ATC for this weeks challenge of "Cooking it Up". This week we had to use a bow, 2 flowers, 3 colours and 4 brads/gems.

So here is mine, she is from the Magnolia "Rosa/Pink" range and she is sitting on a little stool from the same range. These stamps are so cute...as are all the Magnolia range.

I have used Creative Imaginations "Christine Adolph" papers which are pink/turquoise with a little foiled gold...so they were my three colours. The buttons are by Crafttime, they have two layers, but I removed the larger flower from the bottom of each of them. The ribbon was 99p from HobbyCraft, and the gems were from QVC...the "Think Pink" was done using my ATB tape writer.

She is leaning against my ATC holder...which desperately needs to be decorated...I am getting a lovely little collection of these cuties....

Thanks again for the great challenge and to the DT for sharing some awesome designs.

Tilda & Co Challenge 14 - Stitch Me Up

I made this card for this weeks challenge over on Tilda & Co Challenge Blog, where the challenge was "Stitch me Up" I actually use one of my CutterBug tools to create a faux stitched effect around the edges...it almost looks as though a machine was used without any thread.

The stamp is one of the Magnolia Stamps made for the Breast Cancer Awareness appeal and a percentage of all stamps sold goes to the charity. You cannot see them on the English version of the Magnolia site, but if you go into the Swedish site and choose Tilda & Edwin stamps and then Rosa Stemplar (Pink Stamps) you will be able to see and order them. There are five in the range and I ordered 4 of them. The papers are the new Basic Grey "Sugared", the ribbon is Stampin' Up Choc Chip Taffeta, and the sentiment is one of the Dovecraft "value stamps"...costs just £1.

I loved this challenge, so thanks again ladies...your work as always was stunning.

Arty Girlz Challenge 29 "Black & White"

Here is my card for this weeks Arty Girlz challenge. The challenge was to use Black & White. I have added a tiny bit of flesh colour, and my white is an off white colour in the picture....slightly whiter irl.

The stamped image is Penny Black "Cinnamon"...I love her and the sentiment is Stampendous. The papers and diecut arrow are Scenic Route & CI Narratives by Karen Russell and the ribbon is by American Craft.

I can see this stamp being used a lot more for cards as it is a little more grown up than Magnolia's. Surgar Nellies & Hanglar's....

I loved this challenge and think I will have to make more with a B&W theme. So thank you ladies for the challenge and inspiration.

Photos & Layouts from ScrapFever

I was lucky and managed to get a photo with Karen Russell. She was sop amazing a friendly. I got an even nicer picture of her on her own. Thanks to Julie (Hollysmum on UKS for taking this piccie for me).

The first layout was one from Shimelle's "Love it Again" class. I was scared of the papers at first....but once I found the right pictures it became easier. Shimelle was teaching us about building a layout from the middle outwards, so that any "white space" is at the edge of the LO...not in the middle. She compared it to a newspaper/magazine, and explained that they never have gaps in the middle, only on the edges. I thought that was an excellent explanation, and must remember it. Anyway, the papers are a mixture that I am not sure I can remember, I know one is the new Crate Paper, another is Sassafraslass...I cannot remember the rest...

The second layout is from Karen Russell's Interactive Layouts Part Two. The mini book on the front contains 10 photos from our day at Willen Lake on Mothers Day, and can be accessed without removing the layout from the page protector.

I love the was Karen scraps with a minimum amount of products...she really only uses paper, cardstock stickers, brads, buttons, ribbon, lace, acetate and stamps. Plus regular stationery items like envelopes, slide protectors and other stuff found in Staples....it is very liberating.

I have been making some more cards last night, but ran out of time this morning to take pictures....so I will do that when I get home this afternoon.
