SJ's Flower Tutorial...

Since seeing SJ's Flower Tutorial...HERE, I just had to dash over to eBay and buy some calico so that I could have a go. Since the calico arrived I have been too busy to have a try....finally today I got some free time, and boy are they addictive....even Georgia has joined in...hers are the three on the right hand side of the screen. I did help a little with cutting the circle and calico, and helped with the gathering of the fabric in the very centre of the circle as her little fingers couldn't quite manage it...but she managed 85% of it on her own. Since this picture was taken she has made more....and bow she has 5 and I have 7..... Georgia has decided that she wants to decorate one of her notebooks with the largest of her flowers.

Go order yourself some calico and have a go...you won't be disappointed...they really do look as good as the large Prima flowers that you can get...at a fraction of the cost.

Anyone for Anya? - Mum's the Word!

This week over on the Anyone for Anya? blog our theme is "Mum's the Word!", we want to see your cards for Mothers, which makes sense as next week is Mother's Day. Sadly I lost my Mum 7 years ago in May so don't have a card to make for her (MIL's is already made and as she reads my blog I can't show it...lol). So I decided to make a card for a Mum's Birthday. I have used The Greeting Farm Digi Stamp called "Royal Pain" and coloured her with Copics using the following colours...
Skin - E000/E00/E11/R20
Hair - C0/C1/C2
Clothing - C0/C1/C2/C3/C5/C7/C9/R46
The background of the card is Doodlebug Sugar Coated cardstock in Beetle Black and the patterned paper is by My Little Bicycle "Love Notes" and is a gorgeous flocked damask....hmmmm yum. I have added a couple of gorgeous Gardenia's in black and deep red from Wild Orchid Crafts, and a couple of heart pins and black lace from Creative Treasures all finished off with some grey pearl bling from my stash and a sentiment by Craftwork Cards.

SJ's Little Musings Friday Freebie

This week it's the turn of Bethanie over on SJ's Little Musings Friday Freebie. I have printed her out already coloured...although I have added some more colour to her face to make her a little more blushy...my printer didn't cope with skin too well....but at least you can add a little colour. When putting together this card, I remembered my Inkadinkado stamps that are quotes from kids....and this was the perfect sentiment...so I made the card into a Get Well Soon card. The papers are all Prima "Pulse Collection" and I have embellished with some KI Memories Love Elsie "Roxie" ribbon, KI Memories Love Elsie "Zoe" chipboard buttons, stars punched with Stampin' Up punch.
