Even more Sugar Nellie Cards

The first card is using Lola with Gift Creative Imaginations Christine Adolph papers and ATB tape writer and says "Just for you on your birthday".
The second is Lola with Flowers, using the same papers as the first card and the ATB tape writer. The words on this card are "If friends were flowers i'd pick you".
The third card is using the Duck in Boots stamp and Blonde Moments Spring Fling papers, ribbons, buttons a random blossom and ATB tape writer again. The words on this one are Happy Easter.
The final card is again using the Lola with Flowers, Blonde Moments Spring Fling papers, ribbons & buttons a random blossom and ATB tape writer. The words on this one are simply "Happy Birthday".

I received two Tilda stamps today too, and have already stamped and coloured them...so will make cards with them tomorrow.

HS:MS Wrath

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "wrath". Wrath - inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger. These feelings can be manifest as vehement denial of the truth, impatience with procedure of law, and a desire to seek revenge.' Show us Wrath in your space. Ok so it really makes me angry that people refuse to recycle when there local council provide a service. Now I know you can't recycle everything, but if everyone tried to do a little, then that would make a huge difference. We have a compost bin, and have about 50/5o recycling to rubbish.

More Sugar Nellie Cards

Don't know what has come over me, but I have been making more cards. Here are 4 more done with my new Lola & Simon stamps, I did these last night.

The first is a Valentines card using the Lola & Simon stamp and Scenic Route Loveland papers and embellies, plus a few buttons from my stash and my ATB tape write for the words.

The next is a Birthday Card using the Lola with flowers stamp, Paper Mania papers, a few buttons from my stash and the ATB tape writer for the words.

I also made another very similar, but using Lola with a Bird stamp and green & pink Paper Mania papers, plus another Thank You Card almost identical to yesterdays...apart from I found my watercolour pencils, so the colour match to the papers is much better.

This afternoon I have made another three, an Easter Card using the Sugar Nellie Duck Stamp, and a couple more birthday ones. I will take pictures tomorrow and post them. I showed them to a couple of the Mums at the school and they suggested that I take a stall at the forthcoming "Pamper Evening" and sell them...not sure if I will....have decided to think about it over the weekend. If I go ahead and do it, I will take a stall with Lynsey and we can both make stock to sell...which will ease the pressure....we will even make mini books and sell those too.

Anyway, back to the cards.

HS:MS Sloth

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is " Sloth". Are we having fun yet? :o) Let's get on to our fourth sin...Sloth - first called the 'sin of sadness', now described as melancholy: apathy, depression, laziness and joylessness or the failure to utilize one's talents and gifts. Show us Sloth in your space.

Ok, so this was the scene before I washed up what doesn't fit in the dishwasher. I was really naughty last night and went to bed without doing it....instead I spent the evening making cards. I made four using my new Sugar Nellies, and will post pics when I get home from collecting Miss Georgia from school this afternoon.

***ETA - Last night my other half said he was going to wash up (and I foolishly believed him!), so that I could have some time to craft....I only found this at 1am this morning when I was taking my glass to the kitchen on the way to bed.....needless to say he will be made to suffer when he gets home tonight......

HS:MS Greed

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "greed". Greed (or avarice) is, like lust and gluttony, a sin of excess; applied to the acquisition of wealth in particular. Show us Greed in your space.
Not a particularly fab shot, but I decided to do a mixture of SuzyB's and Andrew's shots for Greed.
Been busy this evening making more cards with my new Sugar Nellies. They are very similar to yesterdays card, but I am really pleased with how they have come out...will post pics tomorrow.
I can also confirm that yesterdays Gluttony dessert is now more....it lasted until this evening.

Sugar Nellies

I recently ordered myself a few Sugar Nellie stamps (available exclusively from http://www.funkykits.co.uk/). I have been looking at all the cards people were making with Tilda/Magnolias and of course the Nellies....I loved the cards, but wasn't interested in the characters....and then she introduced Lola & Simon....and I was smitten. There were initially nine released and I got 7....but wish I had just ordered the whole collection. So here is my first card made with the Lola with flowers stamp.

I think I could get hooked....so much so that I think I need some new artist pencils. The ones I had seem to have disappeared. I would love some Prismacolor ones....they do a set of 120 colours that cost £59 including P&P if purchased from the USA...I am resisting at the moment....maybe I will just buy a pack of 24 and see how I feel.

HS:MS Gluttony

Derived from the latin gluttire, meaning to gulp down or swallow, gluttony is the over-indulgence and over-consumption of anything to the point of waste. Show us Gluttony in your space.

Struggled a little today...ran out of time, and could not think of what to do...so here is best of a mediocre bunch.
Now this may look very naughty....but it isn't quite as naughty as it looks....it is an M&S Count on Us dessert...so less fat and calories than a regular choccy pud......honest. I actually haven't eaten it though, I took the pictures, put the lid back on and put it back in the fridge...for now...LOL

HS:MS Lust

Today Her Space : My Space has been hijacked......by SuzyB and Andrew...and they are shown in a way we have never seen them before...an probably never will again. Anyway this is what I found when I logged on this morning...

Its official, this is a Her Space My Space hijack!

Andrew (Boy Blogger) and I have assumed control!!As we are being naughty, we also want to encourage you to get in touch with your naughty side.We all have them, whether its that urge you have to eat a whole packet of Jammie Dodgers in one sitting (well they do only have 8 in the packet, I mean come on!) or whether its what makes you want the gorgeous girl/boy at work to trip over her own feet and make a fool of herself in front of everyone. To do this we are calling on the Seven Deadly Sins also known as the Cardinal Sins. A tricky set of words that we hope will challenge both your mind and photographic skills; especially our first word....Lust or lechery - usually thought of as involving obsessive or excessive thoughts or desires of a sexual nature - show us Lust in your space.

So over the years I have had many a man talk to my chest. Some men don't seem to realise, they don't speak, can't hear and have no opinions...SO WHY ARE YOU TALKING AT THEM....LOL Saying that, at least they distract the eye away from my tummy and backside....so they have a purpose.
Well at least "Lust" is out of the way, and we have the other 6 deadly sins to think about this week. I do like knowing what is coming for the week...gives me a chance to think about what I could do.
Anyway, Georgia thinks I am mad....I mean what mother sits and takes pictures of her boobs while drinking a cup of coffee and asking her DD to eat her brekkie and get dressed...LOL

Latest Layout

I decided to scrap for myself last night, and this is my page. I have had a couple of these Heidi Swapp Clock Overlays since they came out, and for some reason I have been nervous and unsure about what to do with them. Last night I just went for it...and this is what I came up with.

I used...

Bazzill Cardstock & Heart Cardstock
Scenic Route Loveland Papers, Diecuts, Stickers & Chipboard
Heidi Swapp Bling & Clock Overlay
MAMBI Bling
Lips Sticker from an Etsy Seller

I really enjoyed myself, being able to use any products without restriction is fab....I am even using my bling without wondering if I can replace it...LOL (although I did order more last week to restock (but it was different).

HS:MS SOS

Today is "Show off Sunday" over on Her Space : My Space, and here is one of the photos we took yesterday on our tour of Milton Keynes and it's sculptures. Obviously this picture is not of a sculpture, but of a reflection of the sun and clouds off the side of the glass building.

We took pictures all around Central Milton Keynes. I did a quick search on the net before we left and the list of sculptures in the city centre had about 26 on it. There are many that are in the rest of MK, but the majority are around the centre. I will show some of those off over the next week.

Last night I finally used one of my Heidi Swapp Clock Overlays....don't know why I worried about using them...as I am really pleased with the page. I will be back later to show you...once I have taken a picture etc.

HS:MS SPS

Today is usually Self Portrait Saturday over on Her Space : My Space, this week Anita & Kirsty have added a twist.....Someone else Portrait Saturday. So here is a picture of my scruffy little miss...Georgia, in her PJ's, messy hair, dirty face....basically an Angel with a dirty face...LOL

Been having a play around with the look of my blog. I upgraded to the new templates as they are so much easier....now I just need a new blog header, but I am not very good with them...will have to play this weekend. It is still very much a work in progress, and it may well be different every time you come back...LOL....It's like getting ready to go out and trying on a dozen outfits, before going back to the one you tried on first.

Anyway, David is off all weekend, and Georgia's homework is about sculptures. Lucky for us Milton Keynes has lots around the city. There is one of a couple of young girls outside the library, a family one in the shopping centre, a face in Campbell Park...and also one that is a silhoutte of a person, with another person upside down on top of them....that is David's description...not mine, LOL. Anyway we are all going to take our cameras and get some fabby pictures.

So I better finish drying my hair and get myself ready, as when they get back from Asda...we are off out.

HS:MS String

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "string". A linear material often made from twisted cotton or hemp. Find 'string ' in your space today. Ok, so I have interpreted it a little differently....mine is a String of lights. You are probably wondering why we have lights up...well these are our outside christmas lights that never went up outside this year due to David forgetting to take time off work at the weekends...well he didn't really forget, they just kept scheduling work for him during the weekends. Instead they were hung up around the kitchen, and still are...even though we generally don't have them switched on...apart from the five minutes it took to take this picture.

David took a phone call about 15 minutes ago...and now he is off for the whole weekend....so now we are praying for snow, although looking at the weather map it is unlikely.

HS:MS Organise

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "organise". To arrange things and allocate a place for them. Show us 'organise' in your space. Last weekend, after months of moaning about the mess that is Georgia's "creative" area...I went to Ikea and bought some new storage for her. I spent most of Sunday going through her stickers, paint, stamps, papers, beads...you name it...there is bound to be some in there somewhere. Anyway after much clearing out, she now has a tray for each of the different things she loves to do....and I have a lightly more organised area in the kitchen.

Isn't the weather awful today. I got blown about all morning and then on the way home at lunchtime, I got soaked to the skin. I came out of the office and there were hailstones...one ht me in the right eye and I couldn't see...I had mascara running down my face and looked a right mess. I drove home with water dripping off the end of my nose....and am still drying out as I type. Snow is predicted for tomorrow...but it is unlikely to be much for us....but who knows, the weather forecastors have been known to get it wrong before.

HS:MS Currency

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "currency". Show us what is being used for currency in your space today! Well I am staying with convention today, and have taken a picture of the contents of the cash in my purse.... Not the most inspired shot today, but I am having a bad week...stressed and feeling a little down.

Hope everyone is having a better week than I am.

Urban Lily Secret Keeper Cards

I have had these in my stash since they were released last year, and hadn't made any of the up. So last night I had a go at one of them. I have taken pics this afternoon, but the light was poor...sorry. Anyway here is the first side. I have used Urban Lily Rub-ons, Heidi Swapp Bling Crowns & MAMBI Bling Butterfly. It opens to reveal a picture of Georgia and another Urban Lily Rub-on. I used Sharpie pens in Black and Dark Pink.

On the reverse I have used Doodlebug Simply Sweet letter stickers, Urban Lily Rub-ons, Heidi Swapp Bling Crown and a couple of Butterflies that I got in HobbyCraft.
Inside this side there is a picture of Georgia's feet.

I had a lot of fun doing these, as I choose the "lush" ones, they were already decorated, so only took about 1 hour from start to finish.

HS:MS Snooze

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "snooze". A short, light sleep during the day. Find 'snooze' in your space. Now I really tried to get a cute sleeping cat shot this afternoon...but neither of the cats wanted to play along with me. I then thought about taking a picture of our alarm clock...and it's "snooze" button, but it doesn't have one...it has a "sleep" button. Anyway I finally came up with a picture of Georgia's Pooh Bear....he actually snores and his tummy rises and falls....so cute.

My Postman tried to deliver some parcels this afternoon....I am really hoping one of them is my new Cricut Cartridges. I did get a couple from the letter postie this morning, including some journal cards from Etsy, and my Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007. I had a trial of the software loaded on my new Lappy, and the trial has just ended, so I searched the net and found a site called http://www.software4students.co.uk/ and as long as there is a school child/student in the house, you can buy cheap Microsoft software. I paid just £48.35 inc P&P....I am very pleased.

It's that time of the week again...

It's Self Portrait Saturday on Her Space : My Space. I haven't played along with this since last year....so thought it was about time I did. Time was short, so this one that shows only part of my face is as good as it got...actually I like half a face better...LOL

Georgia and I are off out soon. We are popping to see Lyns & the Girls and then going to the local Poundland store, so see if they have anything worth getting....

I also wanted to say "Thank You" for the get well wishes everyone left me. I felt a bit delicate all day, and woke this morning feeling a lot better.

Urban Lily Secret Keeper Board Book

OK, as promised here are the pictures of the Urban Lily Secret Keeper Board Book...decorated. Georgia still has to write some notes and draw a couple of pics to go in the secret bit. This was the "lush" one, so it was already pink/black & white.

I have decorated the cover with Hambly Transparancies (pink brick wall & black decorative circle) and added Heidi Swapp "Cherish" bling word, ATB Dymo, Doodlebug Simply Sweet stickers, Luxe Design Rubons , Rebekka Erikson Rubons and Love Elsie "Betty" ribbons. Since I took the picture I have added a lipstick charm to the ribbon, which I think came from Asda.

These are the first pages, as the book is already decorated with "lush" Urban Lily designs all I added was the cute pictures of Georgia and, on the left, Doodlebug Paper Frills, L'il Davis "Princess" rubons, and MAMBI Bling crown, and on the right, Heidi Swapp Bling Heart, Luxe Designs rubons.

These are the next pages, and I have used Heidi Swapp "She" Bling word, ATB Dymo, Luxe Designs rubons, and Heidi Swapp Bling Circle.
In these pages I have used more Heidi Swapp Bling circle & square, also L'il Davis "darling daughter" rubons, Creative Imaginations lipstick rubon, and Melissa Frances rubons.
Again on these pages there is more Heidi Swapp Bling "circle and square" Basic Grey rubons, Rebekka Erikson rubons, Luxe Designs rubons and Flair Design rubons.
These pages are using Melissa Frances rubons, Doodlebug Paper Frills, Doodlebug Simply Sweet stickers, Doodlebug Kitty rubons and flock stickers that came free in Scrapbook Inspirations in 2007.
These are the final pages of the book, and I have again used Doodlebug Simply Sweet stickers, ATB Dymo, Luxe Design rubons, MAMBI Bling "I {Heart} You" and the free flock stickers.

Thanks for taking the time to look....leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

ETA 3-04-2008, I have removed all the pictures as this mini book is going to appear in Scrapbook Trends August 2008 issue....check back in September when it will be added back, or go buy the magazine...thanks Caz x.

HS:MS Three

I didn't think I would be playing along this morning. I woke up, had a wash and washed my hair and when I came downstairs I was hit with crippling stomach pains, and suddenly had a hot flush followed by a cold clammy feeling....and promptly doubled over in a heap on the hall floor. Poor Georgia was pretty scared and managed to bring me the telephone and I called David. Georgia was such a sweetheart and got herself a pain au chocolat for breakfast and got herself washed and dressed. I called Sarah (Georgia's bestfriends Mum) and she kindly collected Georgia and got her to school....so as you can see pretty eventful. I am sat on the sofa now and the pain has lessened, but I am still not feeling so good...luckily I was able to rearrange my appointment. Anyway back to HS:MS today's prompt is "three". One, two...three. Somewhere there is 'three' in your space today!
Seeing as how I am still feeling rough, I have kept it simple, and to something that was right in front of me...and always is, and that I didn't need to do anything to.....I had a fab idea to take picture of my 3 Mobile Broadband Dongle...but David has taken it with him to work. So this is a Venture picture that hangs in the lounge. It was taken a couple of years ago...Georgia was 3...ok, so another three...and it shows pictures of the three of us....Ok, so actually this is a fantastic idea...so many three's...LOL
Anyway, back to slobbing on the sofa for me....hopefully I will be feeling well enough to pick her up after school this afternoon....fingers crossed.

PS.....I will be back later with pictures of the Urban Lily Secret Keeper Board Book.

HS:MS Overflow

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "overflow". Flow over the brim of a receptacle. What's overflowing in your space today? Now the first thing that sprang to mind this morning when I saw the prompt was my washing basket....and as you can quite clearly see...it is overflowing. I have been rushed off my feet and David has been working nights...and long ones at that...14 hours including travelling. So the washing is just a little backed up....he is off today, so we will be playing catch up....LOL

Last night I stayed up until the wee small hours creating. I have had an Urban Lily Secret Keeper Board Book for a while now....and last night I finally made a start. I searched the net for inspiration, but it seems that nobody has posted a picture of a completed one....so I will just have to work from my own inspiration....It is approx half done, and I hope to finish it tonight, and post a picture on Friday.
Have another busy work day, and Georgia has gymnastics after school, and then I have a PTA meeting in the evening....so no rest here as usual.

HS:MS Tube(s)

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "tube". A hollow, usually cylindrical body of metal, glass or plastic used especially for conveying or containing liquids or gases. You have tubes, right?

So when I saw the prompt at work, I knew exactly what I wanted to do...but needed to wait until I got home. These are rigatone pasta tubes...artistically arranged.
Here is something else I have made recently. This is a Creative Imaginations Bare Elements Gift Card Holder that I bought from HobbyCraft in the sale at a cost of just 99p each. I have decorated it with CI Narratives papers by Karen Russell...and added a photo where the card would be placed...I think they are fab. I made two very similar and gave one of them to a friend.

HS:MS Wrinkles

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "wrinkles". A slight fold in fabric or skin. Come on...be brave and show us your wrinkles! Now this is hard as I don't actually have that many wrinkles....chipmonk cheeks seem to prevent them...LOL. So I came up with this instead... Please don't be fooled into thinking that is all the clothes that need ironing in my house....in fact they are the only ones I am going to be ironing, and there is a huge bag just out of shot that is being delivered to my ironing lady, Liz. They are just a couple I pulled out for the shot.....

I have to dash off to work now, but will be back laters...

HS:MS Ring

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "ring". A circular shape, pattern or marking. Find 'ring' in your space today. So apart from rings on my finger, this is the other "ring" I could find this morning.....a coffee ring on the coaster that Georgia made me.

I have another busy week this week, but fingers crossed not quite as manic as last week. But to add to the madness David came home from work yesterday afternoon and told me that he is working nights this week....just to throw a spanner in the works.

On a creative note, I have been busy designing with the February ScrapaGoGo kit, which is fabulous, a lovely mix of products. I have done 3 12x12 LO's, 1 6x12 LO, and a mini book that I made with my Bind-It-All....I am so loving that tool.

I have made a couple of other bits that I can show, but will have to load the picture when I get home.

ETA....The coasters were the ones that I suggested the school get for the kids to make as parents gifts at the Christmas Bazaar....Georgia went into the room and made me this one as a surprise....she also made Daddy a keyring. It was a heart and she coloured it and wrote "I Love Daddy" on one side, and "I Love Mummy" on the other....such a talented little madam, and always after my stash.....

HS:MS SOS & January ScrapaGoGo DT stuff

Ok, so missed out on SPS yesterday as I was out for the day visiting family. So here is my SOS instead. Taken on 7th January, I love the way she is looking at me, and also the reflection from the wooden floor.

So it's the 20th which means that I can now show you my January ScrapaGoGo Designs. The kit was totally lush and contained lots of scrummy MM Noteworthy stash....it really was crammed full. So here they are. I made 4 Lo's and a picture frame from a pizza box. So here are the layouts...
And here is the pizza box photo frame...

Hope everyone is having a peaceful and relaxing Sunday.

HS:MS Dangle

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "dangle". To hang or swing loosely. Find 'dangle' in your space today. Well this is my AMM Toteally Cool 2....and from it I hang loads of keychains and now a 6 book rings. Four of them have little bags with clear stamps in, one has Bazzill stitching templates on and the last one has my ATB "dymo" tape writer refils.....I do like to have everything to hand when I create.....although the thing I create most often is....A MESS....lol

So pleased it is Friday. I have been busy work wise...and last night managed to finish the two tax return spreadsheets that I needed to complete. Tomorrow Georgia and I are going down to Surrey to visit my Dad and Sister as we haven't seen them since 27th December when we came home. Sunday is my day of rest....and craft, although David is working all weekend...so I am left to entertain my monster all alone....

Ok, coffee time I think...then crafty time.

HS:MS Number

Are Anita and Kirsty psychic...I am up to my eyes in spreadsheets completing them for the Accountant to finalise tax returns, and they chose "number" for today's prompt... An arithmetical value expressed by a word, symbol or figure. Show us a 'number' in your space today!

Ok so here is my photo...I have been staring at one of these all morning. This one is only a blank copy...but you can get an idea of what I am facing. I have to fill in the second tab with all the income and expenditure and it flows through to the computation page you can see....I think my brain will be ready to explode by the end of the day...and I still have my own to do....arrgggggghhhhhh....I hate tax return season...LOL

Ok, so better get back to it if I want to finish them all today.

HS:MS Indulgence

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "indulgence". To allow oneself to enjoy a pleasure. Well this is my guilty little pleasure.....Asda Extra Special Belgian Hot Chocolate. This stuff is pretty special, when you open the lid it contains grated plain and milk chocolate and needs to be made with milk....and it is heaven in a cup. If you need a little extra somethin', somethin' it is fab with squirty cream on top and a flake stuck in it....fan-bloomin'-tastic.

HS:MS Away

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "away". I had to have a good think about this one, and I always associate going away with packing the car...so this picture is a little cheat as I am not going away...I just haven't emptied the boot from the crop at the weekend. Another photo taken with my N95 camera phone...not bad considering...and a lot easier to do without people wondering what the hell you are playing at and whether you have completely lost the plot...assuming you ever had it.

HS:MS CD

OK, so really late with Monday's prompt...I did take it yesterday but ran out of time to upload. So here it is....not the greatest picture, or selection of CD's, but they were the ones that David had left in my car....as you can see from the clock in the picture....the photo was taken at 16.07 while I was waiting outside the school for Georgia to come out after her Wildlife Club.

Will try to play along properly today.

So after looking around the kitchen I came up with this......Ice Pops, and they are most certainly cold....

HS:MS Thread

OK, much later than promised, but here now anyway...today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "thread". A collection of fibres to sew or indeed make fabric. Who has threads?

Been a nightmare here today, managed to make my laptop battery charger go pop....so now I only have the battery to run off until the new charger arrives....sods law when you have a stack of accounts to do before the weekend is over. SO I have ordered a new one and forked out £8.50 for a saturday delivery.
Anyway, that's it for tonight....will make sure I post earlier tomorrow.

HS:MS Steam

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "steam". A hot water vapor. Find 'steam' in your space. Now I have tried and tried and I don't know how Anita and Kirsty did it....I really struggled...anyway here are my best two pictures....

The first is the steam that gathered on my glasses while I tried to get a half decent shot and the second is of the kettle after it had boiled. Again not as good as I hoped...need a few tips from the ladies on how they achieved their photos.
Feeling a little better today, stomach is settling, and my appetite is returning slowly...have actually managed some toast this afternoon.

Anyway, got to dash to the Post Office to collect six parcels....not sure what they are as I didn't think I had six on the way...oh well, it will be a nice surprise.

HS:MS Bling

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "bling". All that sparkles and twinkles. Show us 'bling' in your space today. This is a picture of my most loved and commented on ring. It is a 1 carat waterfall ring and has baguette, round and princess cut diamonds in it. Whenever I wear it people comment, and one friend insists on trying it on everytime she sees it. Today it is pictured sitting on top of a pile of my hot fix crystals....so jewellery bling, and scrapping bling.

Today is the last day of the school holidays for Georgia and we are off to meet the lovely Ifa (GoGo DT friend) for lunch. Ifa has come over from Peterborough to Ikea in Milton Keynes...so an ideal opportunity to meet up.

I have been suffering with an upset stomach since Saturday night, and it is really getting me down. I have stomach cramps, nausea, and feel generally yuk, I hope it clears up soon as I am getting tired of feeling drained all the time.

Anyway, back to drying my hair....got to get ready to go out.

HS:MS Fold

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "fold". To bend something over itself so that part of it covers another. Find 'fold' in your space today. So not as cute as Anita's Puppy, or Kirsty's Heart folded out of book pages, but a fold in my space none the less. A nice stack of folded (and ironed, although not by me I hasten to add) t-shirts.

Today Georgia and I have been crafting. With only a couple of days of holidays left (well actually Teacher Training Days) we are making the most of it. We made a clock out of an old pizza box and she has been practising telling the time. We has mastered the hours and half hours and today we are moving onto quarter past and quarter to....will show pics of her clock later (she made it herself. She is also decorating Funky Foam butterflies that I got yesterday from HobbyCraft (£1.99 for 30...they should have been £3.99) she is going to hang them from the ceiling of her bedroom...pretty much what we did with the snowflakes in the lounge for Christmas. I also got another 5 packs for the school as we are going to decorate them at the school Summer BBQ. I also got some Easter Egg ones and wil deocorate them with the kids in March.
I have also been busy making a couple of bits. I got a few CI Bare Elements Gift Card Holders for 99p each at HobbyCraft yesterday and last night decorated one with CI Narratives papers. It was going to be a gift for one of my Clients (I said I was going to make her something) the only trouble was I loved it too much...so made myself one almost identical. Will take pics after lunch and post this evening. I also spent the last 30 minutes taking lots of pics of Georgia in her PJ's laying on the floor...she even posed a bit...but I love the effect of the wooden floor she was laying on. Will post pics later once I have been through them all.
Has anyone been watching the photography show on Channel Four? I realy enjoyed it, and was pleased to see that 5 of the 6 finalists were Nikon users. I spotted a couple of D80's and D200's (I think). The show is strictly for amateurs....but they have great talent. It was also fab to see that at least a couple of them were using regular kit lenses...meaning that anyone can take the types of shot they were doing, it just takes practice, imaginations and patience.
Anyway, Georgia claims to be starving, but I seriously doubt it after the amount of food she ate yesterday....makes you wonder how she stays as thin as a rake.....although it reminds me so much of my little sister as a child. She wouldn't eat much for a couple of days, and would eat just about anything that wasn't nailed down....she was affectionately called the "Human Dustbin".

HS:MS SOS

It's show off Sunday over on Her Space : My Space, so here is mine. Taken on 29th December 2007 at Willen Lake. We went for a walk, tied two ribbons to the Rememberance Tree (for Nanny & Great Grandma) and visited the Peace Pagoda.....followed by hot chocolate at the cafe.

We are off to Staples and HobbyCraft followed by a quick visit to Asda to get some food for dinner.

HS:MS SPS

Well again, better late than never. Here is a picture of my bad ankle 11 days post falling down the stairs. Pretty much healed, the worst of the bruising is gone and the carpet burns are almost healed. Had a lovely day today relaxing and scrapping with Pam and Georgia. Tony sat and watched the discovery channel until David came home from work, and then we all went out for dinner.

Tomorrow I am anticipating more of the same, along with a quick trip to Hobbycraft and Staples.

HS:MS Perfume

Today's prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "perfume". A fragrant liquid. Show us 'perfume' in your space. A little later for me today as I needed to pop to the shop and I had an idea....so here it is.....a picture of the perfume cabinet in Boots near where I live. I took the photo with my new Nokia N95 camera phone (the 5 megapixel one) and I am quite pleased with the quality of the images it produces.

I am off out this evening for a curry with a group of the Mum's and a couple of the Dad's from the school....the ones that help with the PTA, as one of them is emigrating to Australia and leaves is a couple of weeks time.

We have a busy weekend planned as David's parents are coming to stay for the weekend.

Well better get myself sorted as I have plenty to do before I head off out this evening.

HS:MS White

Yipee, the ladies of Her Space : My Space are back...boy have I missed their daily photo prompts. Anyway, todays is "white". The opposite of black, the colour of milk or snow. find 'white' in your space today.
Ok, so we are expecting snow, but it is only just starting and almost impossible to see...although it is absolutely bitter outside today...so Georgia and I are staying home in the warm. Anyway, back to the photo....as the snow is not here yet, I have taken a picture of "The White Stuff"..as the TV ad goes.

Got to love milk....so yummy and good for you.

Took delivery this morning of David's new lappy for work, and also a 3 USB Modem so that we can get internet access over a mobile signal for when we are both away...which will be more this year than in previous years. So a busy morning here as David's car also broke down yesterday morning, leaving him stranded at home unable to go to work...so he worked from home. Anyway the car was just collected on the back of a recovery vehicle and taken to the garage that I work at...and hopefully will be repaired without too much cost...been one of those days today...now time for a nice hot cup of coffee and curl up on the couch to get warm again...and wait to see/take pictures of the first snow of 2008, should we get enough to take a photo of.

ETA...Here in the UK you can still have your milk delivered, although most people don't and buy from a Supermarket. In line with my belife in buying local whenever possible we have our delivered by a local dairy....Taylors Dairies. It does cost more but the farmers are getting a fair price for the milk rather than the likes of Tesco and Sainsburys forcing farmers to reduce their prices. So three times a week I have fresh milk delivered to my door in glass bottles.

Happy New Year

Well another year is over, and I can hardly believe it has passed so quickly. There have been many good and bad points during the year, the highs have included joining the ScrapaGoGo GoGo Create Design Team, and the lows that my Uncle was killed in a motorcycle accodent in Cyprus and that David Gran passed away aged 95.

We had a lovely family christmas and came home on the 27th. The next couple of days was spent scrapping (well for me anyway). On the 28th we had Lynsey, Paul and the Girls over for dinner. We were due to go to Sasha's but sadly she was poorly....so a quick change of plan, and a roast dinner was enjoyed by all. David had to travel to Cannock on the 30th, and came home on New Years Eve in plenty of time for our celebrations. Lynsey, Paul and the Girls came back over and we enjoyed an evening eating Chinese Takeaway, playing Monster Buzz and Hollywood Buzz and finally turned the tv over to Jools Hollands Hootenany at 11.30pm. We saw the 2008 in with Jools ans friends and lots of party poppers.

So David and Georgia are both curled up asleep on the sofa....so I think it must be time for bed.

Wishing all those in Blogland a Very Happy New Year.
