HS:MS Excited

Over on Her Space : My Space this week all the prompts are emotions, and todays is...

Excited

One of the most happiest of emotions. Whats exciting through your lens?

Ok so without using faces is always a challenge, as face can express so many emotions that we can all easily identify. But my picture today is showing two retreats that I am going to next year. Apart from going to some of the retreats as a day delegate, Bonanza as a volunteer and our local crops first ever retreat I have not been a full weekend guest at any of the larger events...so this year I am going two...maybe even three (funds permitting). So my picture shows the two retreats I have booked....Scrap Fever in April and GoGoGetaway in June....and boy am I excited. Scrap Fever has the amazing Karen Russell (who's products and work I love) and also Shimelle, and GoGoGetaway has Shimelle, Jane Dean, MaryAnne Walters and also Fiona Beckman...so some amazing UK talent there too.

Got to go now, as I am supposed to be working...naughty me!!!

HS:MS Sad

This week over on Her Space : My Space they are focusing on emotions and todays prompt is Sad. They prompt you with one word and you translate it the best you can through your lens. Try hard as you can not to use a human face to reflect that emotion. For instance - Sad. A dying plant, a messy corner, mucky windows (we all have them at one point!).

As soon as I saw the prompt I knew what I wanted to do. My picture is of a road side memorial that I pass every day on my way to drop Georgia off at school. These roadside memorials are becoming a common sight here in Milton Keynes and I am sure it is the case everywhere else.

This one is a memorial to a motor cyclist aged 36 that was killed when he was hit by a car during September. I remember the evening clearly as I was on my way back to school for a PTA meeting and the road was closed. Whenever I see these by the roadside it makes me realise how precious life is. I am sure the motor cyclist never knew that would be his final ride. His children will grow up without their Father, and a Wife without her Husband. So next time you are driving past one of these memorials, think of how it would affect your family if you never came home from your journey.

So stay safe on the roads, particularly during the colder months.

HS:MS SOS

Ok, so I mentioned Venture and the pictures we had taken a week ago today. Well here is a picture of the frame/range we chose. The pictures obviously aren't of us, becuase this came from the Venture website, but you can see what we have ordered.

The range is called Metro Strata, and come is a choice of 5 (1 12x12 & 4 7x7's) or 9 (2 12x12 & 7 7x7's) we chose the 9 option as we loved so many of the shots.

Today is show off Sunday over on HS:MS and I love this picture of Georgia and one of her best friends Hannah. It was taken over the half term when we went bowling and to see Ratatouille, this was just after 2 games of bowling and the girls were exhausted, but HAPPY!

Can I join in...she asked!

Well Georgia watched me taking pictures of myself this morning and wanted to join in. She reguarly uses our old Fuji E550, so I let her have a go. What do you think of what she came up with. She looks a mess as the picture was taken before she had bothered to brush her hair...or even dress.

She looked much cuter when she went off to her party...all in pink, as a girl can never have too much PINK!

I've been and gone and booked....

I am going to ScrapFever in April 2008. I wasn't going to go on any other retreats in 2008 as I am already booked into GoGo Getaway in June 2008, and MKScrappers Retreat in September 2008 but as soon as I saw that Karen Russell was coming over to teach, then it was a no-brainer as they say. I love her Narratives range and basically everything she does, so cannot wait to meet her. So my deposit is paid and my place secured...yipeeeee.

HS:MS Self Portrait Saturday...

Well normally it is SPS over on HS:MS, but it seems that nothing has been posted yet...isn't that just typical on the first ever day I have actually spent time taking a flippin' picture of myself.

Oh well, here it is. I tried for ages, and this was one of my better attempts.

Not much on today, David is working 7am-7pm and I have to take Georgia to a birthday party this afternoon. If I am lucky I may get a couple of hours to myself as I think for the first time I am not going to stay and help at the party.

HS:MS Garden

Todays prompt is Garden, Is there a little corner tucked away for your escape? Do you have a favourite plant or some garden furniture that you are fond of? Share with us you favourite garden shot.

So the light is not that great outside yet, but I have braved the elements while in my PJ's and with wet hair to take this shot. It is my Yucca plant and I love how at night the solar lights come on and light it from beneath.
Today I am training a new employee on Sage Accounts at one of my clients, so I have another dash up the M1 to Weston Favell, but not before I stop off at Interlink to collect a parcel that has been there since Monday...I am sure it is my AMM Albums from Craft Superstore...such a bargain at £12.49 each.
The new Love Elsie Zoe & Noel have hit the UK, and I have just placed my order. I missed out on a couple of bits that I wanted, but will pick them up at a later date.
Off to look at everyone elses garden photos. Caz x

October ScrapaGoGo

Little late with these this month, but here is what I did with the fab October Afternoon papers that were featured in October's Kit.

The kit was crammed full of lovely stuff, I did 3 LO's a card and a CJ, and still have lots of bit left.

HS:MS Fridge

As things should start to calm down here again, I decided to play along today. So here is my fridge...I think it says everything about our life...crazy, chaotic, messy...to name just a few...

Working today, but not before I pop back to Venture to confirm and pay for our photos.

Venture & Halloween

After another hectic day, David and I went to view our pictures at Venture. Now I was totally of the mind set that we would only get the free pic, and at most upgrade to a 10x8 from a 5x7. Well it just wasn't going to happen. The first photo that came up on the wall was one of my faves, and after going through approx 40 images that they had picked, we were down to 18. Now some were in because Georgia looked cute, but to be honest she looked cute in all but one. I fell in love with one of the displays that they had, it was called Metro Strata Collection 9. In it you get 2 12x12's, and 7 7x7's. The display is proud from the wall and are attached to the wall on "mushroom cups" (photographers name for it not mine). So even though we had no plans to spend any more that £100...we ended up spending a fair bit more....but I cannot wait. We have six weeks of waiting now, and I have already given David instructions on which picture needs to me moved to put it where I want it...LOL.

So anyway after all that we dashed to Lynseys for some tea and then trick or treating. Well we had such fun. We were out from 6.30 till a few mins after 8pm. Here is one of the pics that I took of Georgia & Catherine....they were both such cute kittys.

I will post a picture on Friday of all three of the girls together (Georgia, Catherine & Melissa).

Bad Blogger..

Sorry for being such a bad blogger, but I promise to try harder.

Last week was hectic but fun. Over half term Georgia went to Gymnastics for a couple of hours Tues-Thurs, which gave me a couple of hours of peace and quiet. Then on Friday David had the day off and we took Georgia plus her friend Hannah, and Hannah's sister Sophie out for the day. First we went bowling for a couple of hours, then onto McDonalds for lunch, followed by a trip to the cinema to see Ratatouille. We all had a wonderful day, and their Mum says they talked about the day all weekend.

Over the weekend we did had a photo shoot at Venture. I vowed never doing one again after spending too much money the last time we went and feeling pressured to spend more. But I entered a competition at the end of the summer and won a free session plus a free 5x7. So off we went on Sunday morning for our 10am shoot, 1 hour later we left tired and happy from running around like nutters. We are going to see the photos tonight at 5pm...fingers crossed there is at least one nice one to choose from. We have decided to put the money from the free 5x7 and upgrade to a 10x8, but are not going to buy anything else. We are however going to spend some time at home getting a lovely shot of all of us, so that we can include it in a Christmas pressie for David's parents.

So this week has been the start of a week of chaos. I feel like I am rushing around all the time. Monday was spent with a client getting a VAT return done, and then rushing from school to shops etc etc. Tuesday was Georgia to school, drop ironing off to be done, drive 25 miles up to Weston Favell to collect paperwork from Client for VAT return, drive back down to MK and to a clients, work until 3.45pm, collect Georgia from her after school French club, home and change for Gymnastics at 4.45pm, and then once we were home at 6pm from all that, I had dinner and went to a PTA meeting at the school at 7.30pm and finally got home at 10.25pm....and who says I work part-time!!!!!

So today is not going to be any easier as I have dropped Georgia at school, and then made a quick dash to Hobbycraft to get things for the school fayre, then off to a client to do another VAT return. After school I have to collect my ironing and then get Georgia home and ready for Trick or Treating, take her to a friends, go to Venture and then back to our friends house to go Trick of Treating with the girls...I am going to rest on Thursday afternoon...as I need to finish another 2 VAT returns...
God I need a holiday!

HS:MS Pink

Ok, so I have missed the daily prompts for a week, but what with feeling cr*p with a cold, I didn't have the energy to join in...but (fingers crossed) I am better and back.
So this is a little cheat as it was taken earlier this year when David & I attended a 60th Birthday Ball. We don't go to many of these sorts of things and it is the first time I had ever seen David in a dinner jacket and bow tie. David turned the photo black&white and made the pink of my accessories stand out...and I love the result and have already scrapped the photo.
I will be checking out all the other blogs to see what everyone else has been upto while I was MIA.

First Day of Half Term

Well day one of the half term holidays is over, and it was a good day. Georgia and I spent the morning doing odd jobs around the house, and then some crafting together. She made herself a mini book, and added a picture of Daddy & Mummy...she even altered the colours of our outfits with pens....Andy Warhol style.

The doorbell seemed to ring on and off all day. First I had the RM parcel gut deliver a special delivery item...My Bind-It All machine...and it if fab, not that I have had a chance to play. So a huge thanks to Lorraine & Janice. Then the regular postie knocks on the door with a small bundle which included my Scrapbook Trends magazines, some WRMK Designer Eyelets from ScrapMagic, and a parcel from Making Memories in the US. Last month I sent an email complaining about the quality of their new chipboard buttons as the two packs I received were a mess with the epoxy resin stuff peeling away from the button. Anyway they sent me a new pack as replacement. They were out of stock of the halloween ones, so sent me some halloween shimmer brads instead...plus a couple of sheets of rubons as a little extra. It seems I have been reasonably lucky (touch wood) as the only parcel I have had gone missing was my September Jenni Bowlin kit, and that was sent before the strikes and a replacement has now been received..so it's all good.

Anyway I have a picture to share of my nephew Alex. It is hard to believe from these pictures, but Alex is only 16 years old. It sounds such a cliche, but he went away a typical moody teen and came back a young man. he has filled out and matured, which seems such a shock given that he has only been away for just over 6 weeks.

My sister collected him on Friday and drove up with her husband and one of their kids, James who is 8. He has been missing his big brother, maybe more than any of Alex's other siblings. Anyway he has a fantastic time going around the barracks, seeing where Alex sleeps...and here is a picture of him...

What a Week!!!

Sorry I have been a slack blogger...no post for a week. I had been feeling ill all week having caught a cold. Nothing life threatening obviously, just made me tired and snotty. So this morning I am feeling very slightly better...thank goodness.

Not much has been happening here this week, well nothing exciting anyway, just the usual mundane stuff. Royal Mail seem to be getting on top of the deliveries and all my parcels are starting to show up. I think I am only waiting for my SI mag, some Scrapbook Trends mags, a few stamps from stampotique, some WRMK designer eyelets from ScrapMagic.

Today is being spent at home, doing the usual washing and tidying and maybe some scrapping with the oh so lush November ScrapaGoGo Kit.....the kit is bulging with yummy stash....cannot believe how much was in the kit again this month.

Tomorrow we are going to visit my family. My nephew Alex is home from Army College in Harrogate and we are all going out for dinner together.

Will be back after the weekend with a couple of pics.

HS:MS, Baby Pics and Rugby...

I have managed to catch up and here is Fridays prompt over on Her Space : My Space, the prompt was "Game" and here is a picture from my space.

Well what a day we have had. We drove the hour journey down to Bedfont to see our new Nephew Lewis. He is such a cutie and a perfect baby...sleeping away in his crib. I got to have a lovely cuddle and feed him, and David too a picture of me....so I almost have a picture for SPS (Self Portrait Saturday)....if only I had taken it myself...LOL...oh well, this is as good as it got.

And finally a picture with Georgia, Lewis & I. Georgia is absolutely besotted with Lewis and wanted to take him home....even though I told her he would keep us up all night and would have stinky nappies....she didn't seem to care at all. Sean however was worried that we really were going to walk off with his Baby Brother...
So did you watch the Rugby World Cup Semi Final?? Boy was it edge of the seat stuff. Sadly I missed the first half as I was driving back from Bedfont via Luton (David is watching the game with mates followed by a curry and coach ride home). I cannot believe that we won, it was such a close game and so amazing after the was the team started off in the tournament. So who knows how the final will go. Whatever happens the team have achieved something pretty amazing.

So tomorrow we have a nice chilled day. I have some crafty chores to do and David is in charge of entertaining Georgia and doing the odd chores around the house...hangover willing. He said he would not be drinking much, but after todays Rugby result who knows...as long as he doesn't fall asleep on the coach ride home all will be fine...

HS:MS Catchup and other stuff...

OK, so the week has been crazy and I have not managed to keep up with the prompts over on Her Space : My Space. So here they are today...

Monday's prompt was "Autumn", I had trouble taking a picture then as it was raining...so took this picture of the side of my house. Our semi is covered with Virginia Creeper on the side and at this time of year it goes an amazing array of colours before loosing all it's leaves.

Tuesday's prompt was "Crockery", and after a sort through my cupboards I saw the cup I wanted to take a picture of. MKScrappers the local crop I attend has a logo of a cow....obvious for Milton Keynes and our concrete cows....so here is my picture.

And finally today's prompt was "Steps". Now I searched high and low for a more interesting picture, but there was not a step to be found in my space...apart from the stairs...so here are my stairs.

Now onto more general stuff...finally my Wacom Bluetooth Graphics Tablet arrived from the US...and I love it. It was easy to set up and I was playing away within 10 minutes.

I signed up for a doodling class on http://www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com/ after reading a thread started by Anso over on UKScrappers. So this week I have been making a doodling book and decorating the cover. I need to do my first 12x12 LO with doodles on, but won't have the time until the weekend. I will try to take a couple of photos of the journal tomorrow to show you all...rather proud of my doodling, as I usually hate it.

On a family note, David's Brothers Wife gave birth to a bouncing baby Boy...Lewis Edward 7lb something..can't remember and the information is on my mobile which is on charge in the hall, and I am too tired/lazy to get up and look...LOL. We are going to visit at the weekend, and I will come back with some cute baby pictures to share.

Anyway enough for tonight....bed is calling.

Were Going on a Bear Hunt....

We have been doing this story/song with Georgia all weekend as part of her school homework...

Were going on a bear hunt
Were going to catch a big one
What a beautiful day
I'm not scared

How many of you have done this with your children. She sounds so cute singing it, and makes up some actions while singing it. She has a little picture prompt sheet so that she is reminded what comes next...she has even been making up some of her own.

This morning had a little surprise as the Postman had delivered a packet...my Doodling Book which is part of a course I signed up on "Big Picture Scrapbooking". So now I can finally get started...just need to catch up. My new pen is stuck in the mail, so will just have to find something else to use for the time being. The book looks great and shows some simple steps to get you doodling

Anyway we had a fun if somewhat filled weekend. Friday I went to a Pampered Chef Party and I spent £50. Then Saturday we went to Quiz Night at the school and had a fab time, and our team even WON! Sunday was the monthly MKScrappers Crop, had a fab time, only did a DLO and a Mini Book, but enjoyed the company and banter of the other ladies and Hannah's Cloud Cake was to die for.....shame it was all gone by lunchtime.....Hannah make sure you make a bigger one next month.

Anyway, I need to get ready for work and get Georgia to school, so will be back with pictures this afternoon.

Oh Happy Day....

I just found out today that I am getting a Bind-It All Machine...and better still I won it. Cannot wait, I have been thinking about getting since they started to arrive in the UK, and was just about to order one...and now I don't have too. I am already making some plans on what sort of mini books I could make. Although I will have to wait to receive it...thanks to Royal Mail. I haven't had any parcels for over a week, and I am still waiting for my September Jenni Bowlin kit to arrive.....if it hasn't arrived by the 9th then I can get a refund....so I expect I will be getting one, as I cannot see it arriving before then.

This evening while we were sitting watching TV, Sweep the female cat was making a racket in the hallway. I looked out into the dark hall and saw that there was something on the floor so sent Georgia and David to investigate. When they got closer they discovered that Sweep had bought a frog indoors. We have one that lives in Georgia's playhouse at the end of the garden. The poor frog looked little traumatized. I did manage to get a very quick photo before David took him back to the garden, so will add it tomorrow.

We have another busy weekend planned. Tomorrow evening I am off to a Pampered Chef Party, Saturday is Quiz Night at the school, and on Sunday is the MKScrappers Monthly Crop. My favourite time of the month is crop weekend.....cannot wait, and this month I really am going to try to pack a little lighter...honest.

HS:MS Card

Todays prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "Card". Now anything stash I always have in shed loads....according to those that know me.

Just a few more days until the monthly MKScrappers Sunday crop, and as usual I am still unpacked from the retreat we went on in the middle of September. I am determind to not take half as much this month....so WILL be sorting it out during the week instead of leaving it till a mad panic on Saturday evening.

David has the day off work today, so we had a lovely leisurely breakfast at Asda this morning. It was such a treat to be able to just sit and chat without Georgia interupting us. He also was a sweetie and has been and done the food shopping, went to Ikea to get me an angle poise lamp so that I can use my stamp making kit, paid the cheques into the bank, dropped an envelope off to one of my clients and put some washing on. He really is a gem....definately a keeper.

Ok, need to get off to my next Customers....back later.

Pinch, Punch, First Day of the Month...

Well I can hardly believe it is October already. Time certainly does fly. Things are starting to return to normal...I am feeling much better, so back to work for me. The past weekend was a busy one and next weekend is no different. Next weekend I have the MKScrappers crop to look forward to...so long as David doesn't have to work.

This week I plan to try and keep up with the Her Space : My Space prompts, although I will not guarantee it as life has a habit of throwing a spanner in the works.

Anyway, today I am sending big hugs to my buddie Lynsey. Lynsey needs them today as one of her kittys was run over last night.....RIP Charlie. He was such a cute kitty.

Feeling sorry for myself...

Sorry there have been no updates from me this week. I have a nasty ear infection that started on Sunday and I finally have some antibiotics to get rid of it. I took Georgia to school this morning and ended up crying in the car on the way home with the pain, I am sure it felt much worse than child birth. Anyway I spent the rest of the day on the sofa nodding off. It seems my ear hurts less when I am laying down...so I think I need to go back to laying down as it is starting to ache again...fingers crossed these antibiotics kick in pretty damn quick.

Hopefully I will be back later in the week with her space my space pictures and lovely things to share.

Made Some Cards...

Those who know me well, know that I rarely make cards anymore. I came into Scrapbooking via Card Making, but since converting have made very few cards. I have recently been inspired by the GoGo Greetings DT....they are such a talented bunch. Anyway I needed to make a card as Georgia is going to a boy from schools Birthday Party this morning. I used BG Skate Shoppe papers and an EK Success Corner Punch. The letters are the BG ones. I am really pleased with it. I think I need to treat cards as mini scrapbook pages. The next card is one for Georgia's Best Friend at school. It is her birthday next week, and Georgia is going to her party next Sunday too.

I used CI papers by Samantha Walker for this card. Again, I think I have treated it like a Scrapbooking page. I am pleased with the result...let's hope Hannah likes it.

Finally I made a New Home card. One of my Dad's neighbours has moved, and funnily enough they have moved near to me..well actually it is about 15 minutes away...just the other side of the M1. So I want to keep in touch as they are a lovely family. Rob used to play Rugby for London Irish and has now taken a post in a local school as a Sports teacher, and his wife Frankie is a Photographer...I think I am going to be helping her with a project pretty soon...and hopefully she will let me come on one of her photo shoots to gain some tips.

I think this card was definately inspired by all the fab card makers who's Blogs I have been reading recently...inc the GoGo Greetings Team.

Anyway, we are off at 10.30 to take Georgia to her party, and then at 1pm when it finishes we are driving down to Surrey to see David's parents and help them set up their broadband...

HS:MS Stare

Todays prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "Stare". I have cheated a litle again today as this picture was taken 3 weeks ago @ Woburn Safari Park. We were in the Australian Walkabout section with the Wallabys and Rheas and with my Nikon D80 and a zoom lens I managed to get this picture. I was actually pretty close to the Rhea and he could have easily taken a few steps closer and pecked me...thankfuly he didn't and I got this fabby shot....On the original larger picture you can see all the feathers standing up.

David is due home today, and we can't wait. This week has been tough managing it all on my own, but at least it was only a week.

Time to share my September GoGo Create DT work...

Ok, so it is finally the 20th and now I can share the work I did as part of the wonderful GoGo Create DT with the September Kit. This month featured the oh so lush Heidi Grace Urban Acres Blvd.

So here they are the first two were featured in the Booklet that accompanies the kit. Sorry the photo on the 6x12 is not as clear as I would have liked...it was a little dark in real life too...but I liked it anyway.
This month Lorraine and Janice featured four Masterclasses online, one of which was my "Paper Roses" technique. The PDF contains instructions on how to make them, and also some step by step pictures. The end if the PDF shows a card and LO I did using them....here are the "Paper Roses" followed by the card & LO.

I am already starting to work with Octobers Kit which is devine. The papers are from October Afternoon, together with loads of lovely bits. Check out the ScrapaGoGo Site (link to the right) and see pictures of the full kit.

HS:MS Quirky

I am a little later than normal with todays prompt over on Her Space : My Space. Today it was "quirky", and I couldn't think of anything....an then I looked up and saw my Momiji dolls.....I think they are pretty quirky...so here they are.

Layouts from the First Annual MKScrappers Retreat...

OK, so here are the layouts I completed while I was away at the weekend. I am pleased to say that I have now used 3 sets of my Love Elsie papers....I now only need to use Betty & Jack+Abby. I have to say that I love the range, but I am bitterly disappointed in the quality of the stickers. The alphabets and tabs are hopeless, they keep coming off and are bound to get lost very soon. I have already lost one of the n's on a page and had to use and upside down u...

So here is the first one I did using Roxie. The picture as I mentioned in my earlier post today was taken at Woburn Safari Park over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The next one was done using Love Elsie Lola range. The picture was taken in mid August when Georgia and I went to Suffolk for a couple of days to meet up with Lorraine, Zoe, Kirsty & Harry. Doesn't she look cute....even if I am biased.

The rest were done using the Love Elsie Toby range. I really love the colours of this range, turquoise is after all one of my favourite colours. Another LO using a picture of Georgia on the beach in Aldeburgh, Suffolk.

I loved the colours so much that I did more with them...LOL

OK and finally here is the DLO I did, again with the Toby papers...as the tv ad says..once you pop you just can't stop...so that would make it once you start scrapping, you just can't stop.

HS:MS Us

Todays prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "Us". Seeing as how David as gone off to Manchester on a course at before 6am this morning, things are more hectic in the house this morning than usual. So here is a picture taken over the August Bank Holiday Weekend....

I got back a little before 6pm last night, and by the time the car was unloaded and I had put most of the things away I was beat. Lynsey and I took some gorgeous photos of all the ladies that attended...gave them a super mini photo shoot. I think they were all really pleased with what they saw, all I need to do it process them and email them back to them. I think I want to do a mini book with details about each person as a little momento of such a fab weekend.

I will be back later today with some more pictures and pictures of the layouts that I did....I actually managed 6 SLO, and 1 DLO...quite pleased with myself.

HS:MS Tweezers

Todays prompt over on Her Space : My Space is "tweezers". So here are my tweezers. I love the design of these, they never fail to pluck the stray hairs in my eyebrowns, they have lovely large pads to hold onto....so easy to use....thank you Tweezerman.

I am in the final packing stages for the MKScrappers Weekend Retreat. All stash is packed and I just need to pack my clothes and have a quick vacuum around the downstairs. My new lappy is due this morning, no sign yet. I booked the delivery slot between 7am - midday...so they better get their butts in gear and deliver on time...or else...what I am not sure but it sounded good.

HS:MS Kiss

This mornings prompt over on Her Space, My Space is "KISS". Here is a picture of Georgia and I this morning. I turned it black and white to get rid of our clashing colours...
Georgia always love to hold onto my face as she kisses me....they were tender little "butterfly" kisses (her words not mine).

Getting over excited about the Retreat on Friday and delivery of my new Lappy. Added some more stash to my packed bags...those who know we, know that when it comes to stash I am totally unable to pack "light". I think I have overpackers DNA...lol

Been off this morning to collect one of my new pairs of specs, hopefully the second pair will arrive today so that I can collect them either tonight or tomorrow. New specs always feel strange. I often get the feeling that people are staring at them...or maybe I am just being paranoid. Then again as one of my old bosses used to say..."Just because I am paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get me.
Anyway, back to work.

HSMS : Cake & Print

Well got a bit behind and didn't manage the prompt yesterday. So this morning due to a change of plans I am working from home. Ok, so I don't really bake cakes and there are not cakes in the house...all I have is this packet, but trust me they are totally lush when made...yum yum...now I may have to make them this afternoon/evening.

Todays prompt is Print and I have a few printers to choose from..well 3 actually, but one is under the desk in the kitchen (DD's printer) and I cannot be bothered to grovel to take a picture..so here are my work printer and photo printer...

I went to the MFA (Merebrook Friends Association - similar to PTA) AGM last night and have agreed to be a general member and help raise funds for the school to pay for those little extras that the school needs. The MFA subsidise the annual Panto trip, school trips during the year, extra books for the library, equipment for the new outside areas for Year one & two. They do fantastic work, and although I don't have a huge amount of time, I will help where I can. I volunteered to help sell the secondhand uniform outside the school at the end of each term/half term. Although I did warn them that I am not the person to commit to being at the school for 8.30am...as we have trouble getting there at 8.45am LOL.

We are now just three sleeps away from the MKScrappers Weekend Retreat. We are off to Thames for 2.5 days of uninterupted Scrappin'...what could be better. My stash is mostly packed, and childcare is all arranged....roll on Friday.

Peace & Quiet has descended once more...

My visitors have finally left and there is an eerie silence all around the house. The cats have now decided that it is safe once more to return to the house. We have hearly seen Sooty since they all arrived yesterday, Sweep was a little braver and came in last night to sleep on our bed. Think we will have fun trying to get to school on time as Georgia only went to bed at 9.30pm, so two late nights in a row.

So only 5 more sleeps before I take off to Thame, Oxford for the MKScrappers Weekend Retreat. My stash is all packed, my printer is ready, and the new laptop will arrive on the Friday before I leave. I am really looking forward to some "me time" as for the last couple of months I have had to take Georgia to the monthly MKScrappers crop, due to David's ridiculous work hours. While she is generally really well behaved when she is there, I am more distracted, and don't get as much done as I would like.

Another US Scrapping Celeb visiting my Blog...

Well what can I say, the lovely Karen Russell dropped by my blog, and took a look at the book I made using her kit. She left me a lovely comment...makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I love her products and cannot wait until the new CHA releases start to turn up in the US and over here.

Wii

Well, I have a full house here this evening. My Dad along with 3 of my Sisters 4 kids are here for the weekend. My Sister and Brother in Law are taking my Sisters eldest son, Alex (16) off to Harrogate tomorrow, were he is going to the Officers Training College, were he will start training. He spends about 9 months there, where he will be studying and then off to Catterick to complete is basic training. So to make life easier for them in the morning, I suggested that the rest come to stay with me, so that they can get away early in the morning. They need to be there by lunchtime and it is approx 5-6 hours drive.

We broke open the Wii this evening, as we needed to make sure that it worked. Obviously as it is a family Christmas present, we will be putting it away until 25th December...yeah right...LOL. Boy do you get a bit warm, not quite breaking a sweat, but definately "glowing". We had a go at Bowling, which is pretty easy. We then progressed to Baseball, now the pitching is easy, but the batting is much more of a challenge. Finally we had a go at the Tennis, again much easier, but I don't know how to make my teamie do anything...he just stands there..LOL. I am glad we got it as it was really fun, something we can all do, in fact Georgia is pretty good at the bowling having got a "Turkey" in the Bowling (three strikes in a row, for those that don't know). Hannah (6)managed the highest score in the Bowling, getting 197, but Georgia got the most strikes in any game, both the youngest got the best scores...it certainly evens things out.

Tomorrow we are off for a day of real Bowling up at the MK Xscape building, followed by lunch. That is if the kids will go to bed. It is 10pm, and Hannah and Georgia are still not asleep. James has just gone up, and I am sure Michael will follow eventually. I bet Hannah & Georgia will not beat everyone in a real game.

Thanks for looking.

New Gadget!

OMG...I just ordered myself a new laptop. A Sony Vaio AR41S, the Sony sites exact words are "As good as it gets: the Full HD Entertainment notebook featuring Blu-ray". I cannot wait, it looks so purdy and shiny...look. It is being delivered on Friday 14th September. I could have had it before, but that is the only day I am home to take delivery. Don't you just love getting shiny new gadgets!...I know I do.
The only downside, is that you have to spend time setting everything up just as you want it, but I am sure it is a hardship that I can deal with.

HS:MS - Hold

Ok, so I haven't been able to join in for the last couple of days. So many things going on in preparation for Georgia's first day back at school (today). We are also having a mass tidy up and furniture move as we will have a house full at the weekend.
So here is my take on the prompt, Georgia and her Daddy holding hands.
Will be busy checking out everyone elses take on the prompt today, I really love to see everyone elses pictures.
Hope everyone has a fun day. Will post a picture tonight of Georgia on our way to school, and compare it to last years photo...she has grown so much.

Karen Russell "Snapshots of a Good Life" Kit

I ordered one last month, and finally got to use it at this months MKScrappers Sunday Crop. If you haven't checked out Karen's work, then you really should, it is beautiful and inspirational.I packed a ton of my Karen Russell products, which is a considerable pile of stash...even if I did forget a few bits. So now I can show pics of the completed project. The kit was so clever and innovative. I mean who would have thought about taking a CI Bare Elements picture frame and splitting the back from the front to make a book. Well Karen did, and here is my version. I filled it with pictures of Georgia and I our recent trip to Aldeburgh. I had so many pictures taken on that day that I needed a fun way to display them. Georgia told me in July that Daddy was fun, but Mummy wasn't, so this book will remind her how much fun Mummy really is.

Just one more day and they are back to school....not long now. I must remember to have my camera ready on Wednesday morning to get some going into Year 1 pictures.
Have fun.
