Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge "Shady Lady"

This week over on the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog the theme is "Shady Lady"....now as soon as I saw the words shady lady, I thought of Tilda laying under a tree....in the shade, making her a shady lady....

I have used three Magnolia stamps to make my ATC this week. The large oak tree, the bird from Tilda with Bird stamp, and also the Tilda laying down from the last Club Kit. The images have all been coloured with Distress Inks. The ATC is made entirely with Hot Pressed paper and Distress Inks....with a little ATB tape for the sentiment...which is actually the title of a poem.

We are also looking for a guest DT to join us in March, so if you are interested, come over a take part and just add that you are interested in being a guest DT.....you never know, it may be YOU!

Today Georgia and I are off to spend a couple of days with Marlene and her lovely family.....leaving David in peace for a few days....which I think will be a blessing as he is very busy this week....it always works out that way during a school holiday....David ends up not being able to take any time off to spend with us....but at least I will be busy playing in Marlene's craft room......YAY ME!....Marlene I promise to tidy up after myself......honest.

Rock the Farm Anya

Here is a card made with my new Rock the Farm Anya/Ian and McSplendid Farm sets that arrived at the end of the week. I have coloured Anya with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin & Pigs)
Worn Lipstick (Blush on Pigs)
Walnut Stain (Hair)
Faded Jeans (Headscard & Dungarees)
Fired Brick (Flowers/Pockets & Chickens)
The papers are by Chatterbox "Sun Room" that I have had lurking around for yonks, and I have used some ribbon and rik rak from my stash.
I kept the card simple as the main image became so large.

I love these stamps, and today ordered the "Miss Anya" girls, who look so chic andmuch more grown up....just fell in love with them. Also today I have been tidying my stash, and sent David off to Costco to get one of the storage trolleys that people have been raving about over on UKScrappers...and now it holds a huge amount of my stamps....most of the image ones, but none of the sentiment ones.....it's FAB!

Tomorrow David's parents are visiting so not much chance of crafting then....but it is Half Term now, so maybe I can have a play on Monday.

Today I was supposed to be going to our local crop, but it was cancelled earlier in the week as more snow was expected...and now we are not getting any until early next week....if weather reports are to be believed....so instead it is a family day with some crafting thrown in for good measure.

Yet more snow this morning, came down quickly...approx another 3-4 inches on top of what was still hadn't melted yesterday...so yet again school was closed and we are home. David left home before 6am and got to Luton by 7.30am....just as it started to snow much harder again...it has almost stopped again now...lets hope the same is happening in Luton, as everywhere is hilly and hard to pass in the snow.

Back to crafting....while Georgia plays with her dogs.....well Nintendogs on her DS....lol

More snow arrived early this morning, so Georgia is off school and David spend over one hour waiting at junction 13 to join the M1 trying to get to work....he eventually gave up after being told that the place he was driving to was in chaos...so we are all taking advantage of an unexpected day off.

***ETA A Huge Thank You to Simonne who kindly answered my plea for a watermark....I have added it to the card above....and it is FAB-U-LOUS....Thanks so much Simonne, you are a star.***

Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge - Warm it Up

This week over on Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog the theme is "Warm it Up"...and after the weather we have been experiencing....we could certainly use some warming up...LOL. We have been joined this month by Guest Design Team Member, Beth, so pop on over and see what she, and the rest of us have come up with.

For my ATC I have used two hAnglar & stAnglar images both have been coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose/Worn Lipstick (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Boys Hair)
Scattered Straw (Girls Hair)
Spiced Marmalade (Shorts)
Peeled Paint/Spiced Marmalade (Girls Costume)
Fired Brick (Hair Band/Bow & Life Buoy)

I used a small piece of WRMK "White Out" collection and the "Summer Day" stamp is one that I got from Clevercut after seeing Leann use it on one of her ATC's last year...and this is the first time I have actually used it. What you can't see from my picture is that I accidentally stamped the circle sentiment upside down....which I didn't notice until I looked closely at the words in the middle..LOL...so to save my ATC I stamped the image again on another scrap and cut the circle part out of the middle and covered my c*ck up.

So come on over and join us this week....these mini works of art are quick, easy and fun to make. You can find a link on the right hand side.

Georgia's Creations

Just a quick post to show you the fabulous cards that Georgia has made this week. Georgia is only 6 (7 in May) and her colouring is amazing. For Christmas her Nana & Pops (David's Parents) got her a pack of the ProMarkers....and she loves them and treats them like a prized possesion. She had seen me use my Cuttlebug to punch some swirls, so decided that she needed some on her card. I cut the images out on the top card and also stamped the sentiment, but she designed her layout without any help. The second card is all her own work....I did nothing.
I am pretty impressed...are you?

Here come the Girls, Girls, Girl, Girls...

Ok, so those of you in the UK can now hear the theme of the Boots adverts that are running on TV....but look what are available to PRE-ORDER on THURSDAY from http://www.funkykits.co.uk/

THE GORJUSS GIRLS BY SUZANNE WOOLCOTT for SUGAR NELLIE...

I will so be there on Thursday to place my order.....what person in their right mind could resist...certainly NOT me.

***ETA - The lovely Tara has just corrected me....and she is sooo right, it is the BOOTS advert and not the M&S advert that I mentioned before.

Can Anyone Help Me....

I would love to have a watermark of my own to add to my cards....and try as I might mine just look pants. I would love one with swirls, my name and blog address....you know the kind of thing....you probably already have one.

I may even be able to put together some fab candy for the person who can help.

Please take pity on me.....

Ismaki Challenge #005 of 2009

This week over on the Ismaki Blog, Isa has provided us with a fab sketch. For my card I have used 2 hAnglar & stAnglar images and also a couple of Magnolia's too. I have coloured all the images with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair)
Fired Brick & Black Soot (All clothing, "Be Mine" & Heart Notepad)
I first coloured the notepad image which is from the new Magnolia Love Collection, and I then stamped it again and cut around it to make a template for the other images. The papers are Basic Grey "Ambrosia", KI Memories "School Days", My Minds Eye "Confetti". Then I added the circle in bling from my stash and placed the "Be Mine", also from the Magnolia Love Collections, inside the bling circle. It is such a simple sketch, but I really love it....think I will certainly be using it again.

Pop on over and check it out.....there is even a prize again this week.

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #36

There is another fab sketch this week over on Sketch Saturday. For my card I have used one of the new Magnolia Love Collection, sat on to of the new Alota cupcake stamp. All images have been coloured with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin & Cupcake Icing)
Walnut Stain (Hair, Jumper, Shoes & Cupcake)

Fired Brick (Hearts on Cupcake)
Weathered Wood (Shadows)
The papers are all by Basic Grey "Bittersweet", and I have added some Stampin' Up Choc Chip Taffeta, and also a sentiment from the "Crazy for Cupcakes" set.

Loads of snow here today, think we have had about four inches or so to date.....David came home early and we took Georgia over the park with her Sledge and went down the little hills...then onto a snowball fight, and finally they made a "snow family" in the garden. We came in cold, happy and ready for dinner.

Request for help...

I am desperately seeking a Martha Stewart Valentines Heart Border Punch....can any of my followers/blog readers help me.....I would be eternally grateful.

Please email me using the link to the right.
Thanks

Club Anya

Well today saw the launch of Club Anya. The Greeting Farm have launched a blog dedicated to the Anya stamps...seems we all love them so much that they deserved their own dedicated space. So today they launched and had a Blog Hop/Scavenger Hunt...with prizes. 20 Anya Compact Mirrors, and Five "Cheerleader Anya" stamps....and I was so lucky to win BOTH....

Now I am just waiting patiently until Feb 14th when the Miss Anya stamps are released.....I have GOT to have them all....I just love the pics we have been shown so far.

Daring CardMakers meets Friday Sketchers

Here is a card I made this morning combining the sketch over on Friday Sketchers (#37) and the theme over on Daring CardMakers, to use three patterned papers. For my card I have used one of the new Elisabeth Bell stamps that I won as Blog Candy from Sugar Nellie, and she is called ChickaDee. I have coloured her with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Scattered Straw (Hair & Chick)
Peeled Paint (Dress & Hair Bows)
Spiced Marmalade (Apron)
Dried Marigold (Flowers in her hair)

I have also used some American Craft ribbon, a couple of Prima "Dude" Painterly Petals attached with a brad and spacer, a heart pin and some random bling. The swirls were done with my QK Revolution die and the sentiment is my Stampin' Up.

The cards over on both blogs are fab, and well worth a look....you can find links on the right hand side under my Challenge's List.

The Sugar Bowl - Challenge 3 "Love & Romance"

Here is my card for the challenge over on The Sugar Bowl. I have made a romantic card without using heart and pink and all my usual stuff.
I have used one of my new Elisabeth Bell stamps.....she is Spring has Sprung...and she is gorgeous. I have coloured her with Distress Inks using the following colours...
Tattered Rose (Skin)
Walnut Stain (Hair)
Spiced Marmalade (Dress & Hair Bow)
Peeled Paint (Apron)
Black Soot (Lambs face)
Weathered Wood (Shadow)
The papers are all from an old ScrapaGoGo kit and are by My Minds Eye. I have also used Prima blossoms attached with a brad and spacer. The swirls were done with a QK Revolution die (run through my CuttleBug), and the card was finished off with a sentiment using a ScrapaGoGo stamp from the July 2008 kit designed my Anam Stubbington, and I also added some Making Memories mini alpha stickers.

The stamp is so cute, and I cannot believe I am one of the first people to receive her....yay me. Hop on over to The Sugar Bowl and check out all the wonderful cards....there is a truly fabulous prize on offer.....6 Leanne Ellis stamps....either the first set, or the new set that is due for release.
