Magnolia v Stampavie Week 3 "Tie that Sketch"

This week over on the Magnolia v Stampavie Challenge Blog there is a sketch to work from. For my card I have used a couple of the new Winter Stamp Club images...Tilda & Edwin kissing under the mistletoe. All the stamped images have been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cinnamon (Hair)
Ruby/Vanilla/Cocoa (All Clothing)
Forest Green/Ruby (Mistletoe)
The red paper is by KI Memories from their "Holiday Collection " 2006, and the music paper is by KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel" from last year. I have also added Stampin' Up Choc Chip Taffeta ribbon (my last piece...boohoo) with a gold heart pin through the knot, string from Ikea and a Love Elsie "Noel" chipboard button. The sentiment and the calendar type stamp are both by Hampton Art "Katie & Co Holiday set". As a final touch of sparkle I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair. Quite a simple card from me as I kept the patterned paper to a minimum, but I am pleased with it. The card is quite bulky as there are a couple of layers of 3d foam....so maybe a card to give in person rather than in the post...LOL

Take a look at the blog, and see the lovely DT cards...well worth a quite visit.

For this card I have used the sketch over on Sketch Saturday. I have used my new Magnolia Winter Club Kit for the main image of Tilda & Edwin ice skating and they have been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Pastel Yellow/Mustard (Edwin's Hair)

Cool Grey 1 (Edwin's Top)
Cool Grey 1&2 (Edwin's Hat)
Cool Grey 3 (Edwin's Trousers)

The papers I have used are from a K&Co Peppermint Twist paper pad that Marlene & I got at Ally Pally and split...and I have used almost all of my half. I have also added some Prima Blossoms, a Snowflake charm, and the ribbon with the pom poms on came from a hair bobble that came from Asda, and I have finished off the card by adding a Stampendous sentiment, some bling and some Stickles "Star Dust" glitter.

Stampin' Up Note Card

Last night I went to Lynsey's for a Stampin' Up Party. There were six of us there, busy making stuff, and trying to decide which items we just HAD to order. I made this little "Thinking of You" card using the love notes, plus the taken with teal and rose red cardstock, plus the designer paper is from the pack in Choc Chip. It is a very simple card, but I love the colour combo. I ended up ordering the A4 cardstock in the colours I used above, plus a new reel of choc chip taffeta as I have run out, plus I ordered 2 packs of the Stampin' Spots in soft subtles and earth elements. I have already made another list for the next party, which I think one of the ladies is having after Christmas.

Daring Cardmakers "Birds, Birds, Birds"

Once again, in my quest to finish my Christmas cards I have interpreted the challenge over on the Daring Cardmakers Challenge Blog to make this Christmas card. I have used the Magnolia Tilda and Dove(yay a brd) from the "So Heavenly" range. The images have been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Pastel Yellow/Mustard (Hair)
Pastel Pink (Socks)
Cool Grey 1 (Highlights on the dress)
Cool Grey 1 (Highlights to the Dove)
Moss (in Dove's beak)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
I have also used KI Memories "Holiday Collection" papers and stickers from 2006. The final touch was to add Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair and Stickles "Star Dust" to her wings.
Go check out the blog, the cards are all very different...from cute to arty....I have stuck with cute, as I just can't seem to get enough....

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 28 by Mumur of France

Here is my card using this weeks sketch over on Friday Sketchers. For my card I have used more of the Magnolia Christmas collection. I have coloured all the images with ProMarkers using the following colours...
TILDA
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Rose Pink (Dress & Tights)
Forest Green (Holly)
Moss/Ruby/Rose Pink (Gifts)
TREE
Forest Green (Branches)
Ruby (Pot)
Gold (Star)
GIFTS
Ruby
Rose Pink
Moss
The papers and stickers are all KI Memories "Holiday Collection" from 2006. Finally I added a button and some bling from my stash.

I rotated the sketch through 180 degrees as the placement would have been covering the tree in my image...I was having trouble visualising the sketch on the screen, so I drew it out and have to have it turned 180 on my desk to keep me on track...LOL

Check out the Friday Sketchers blog (link to the right), there are fab cards there for your inspiration.

Cute Card Thursday Challenge 36 "Red & Green"

This week over on the Cute Card Thursday Challenge Blog the theme is "Red & Green". So in my quest to get my Christmas cards finished ASAP I have made another...number 37 actually. So back to the card, I have used a couple of Magnolia stamps (again!). I masked Tilda and overstamped the tree so that she is standing in front of it. I have coloured both the images with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cocoa (Hair)
Ruby (Socks/Top)
Vanilla (Dress)
Forest Green (Christmas Tree)
Metallic Gold (Tinsel)
The papers and stickers are all by KI Memories (don't ask me the range as they are a couple of years old). To finish I have added a sentiment by Cats Life Press and some bling to the tree, plus some Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair and the tinsel, and raised the parcels that I cut from the paper up onto 3D foam.

As you would expect, the DT cards over on the Cute Card Thursday Blog are just so cute and gorgeous...so pop over and have a quick peek.....and even play along.

This week over on A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge Blog the theme is "A Child's Card" and as I am in full flow of Xmas card making I have made an Xmas card for a child. For my card I have use Tilda as Lucia by Magnolia and I have coloured her with ProMarkers using the following colours...

The papers are all PaperMania "Naughty or Nice" and I have also used some Stampin' Up Choc Chip Cardstock. The sentiment was also by Magnolia (I love those ticket stamps...one of the best sentiments they have done...together with the Santa is Coming seal). Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge "Bring on the Bling!"

This week over on the Tilda & Friends ATC Challenge Blog the theme is "Bring on the Bling!" Make an ATC with sparkle and bling. For mine I have used two of the Xmas Magnolia's, Tilda has been sat on the large bauble using the masking technique. Tilda has been coloured with ProMarkers using the following few colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cinnamon/Cocoa (Hair)
Ruby/Vanilla (Dress)
Vanilla (Socks)
Ruby (Hat)
Metallic Gold (Bauble fixings)
I also used Stickles "Diamond" glitter to colour the bauble. The background paper is KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel" and I added a small piece of Stampin' Up Choc Chip taffeta and a sentiment by Kelly Panacci. To finish it off I have added some red gems to the notes and also as buttons on Tilda's dress.

Why not come over and join in, and take a break from card making with a quick and simple ATC....mine took about 30 mins to make (including colouring the image), plus drying time for the Stickles......I think I will make is into either a card topper or a gift tag as it is just to cute to hide away.

Papertake Weekly Challenge - Dawny's Sketch #2

This week we have another sketch provided by Dawny. For my card I have used three Magnolia stamps. The main image consists of the "Silent Night" background stamp with Tilda as Lucia. To put Tilda in front of the background I masked. I have coloured her with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Pastel Yellow/Mustard (Hair)
Pastel Pink (Wreath in Hair)
Ruby (Dress)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
I then stamped the "Santa is Coming" circle sentiment and using the scalloped Stampin' Up punch, matted the sentiment. The papers are KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel". As a final touch I have added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair and the flame on the candle.

Such a simple, but stunning sketch....why not pop over and take a look at the fab DT cards.

Daring Card Makers "Sparkle & Bling"

For the first time ever I checked out the Daring Card Makers Challenge Blog...not sure why I have missed it in the past. Anyway, this week their challenge is "Sparkle & Bling" and as I am in the groove making Christmas cards, the theme fitted perfectly.

For this card I have used four Magnolia stamps. I masked twice to create the main image. I firstly stamped Tilda and her masked her and stamped the bauble, then I made a mask for the bauble and stamped over the who thing with the background stamp. The main image is coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Cinnamon/Cocoa (Hair)
Ruby (Hat & Under Dress)
Vanilla (Socks & Over Dress)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
Metallic Gold (Bauble)
To finish off the main image I added Sakura clear glitter gel pen to Tilda's hair and also Stickles "Diamond" glitter glue to the whole of the bauble, and boy does it sparke...although it is almost impossible to capture that on the photo. I have also used Stampin' Up Choc Chip cardstock, KI Memories Love Elsie "Noel" paper, and DCWV "Christmas Wishes" 6x6 paper pad. The final touches are a Magnolia "ticket" sentiment, a heart pin, a "made with love" heart charm, some Stampin' Up Choc Chip taffeta and some more bling.

I loved this challenge and will now add the blog to my list, and check back weekly.

Magnolia v Stampavie Week 2 "Clean & Simple"

Over on the Magnolia v Stampavie blog it is week 2 and we are challenged to make a "Clean & Simple" project using either a Magnolia OR any stamp made by Stampavie (check the Blog for the list). For my card I have used five Magnolia stamps. I first stamped Tilda and then masked her and stamped the Christmas tree. I then coloured both images with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Pastel Yellow/Mustard (Hair)
Ruby (Socks & Dress)
Cinnamon (Basket)
Ruby/Lime Green/Pastel Pink (Baubles)
The papers are from a DCWV "Christmas Wishes" 6x6 paper pad, and all I have done is matt them on to Core-dinations cardstock. Finally I stamped a sentiment with the Magnolia "ticket" stamps and also layered the baubles (the 2 small ones are on 3D foam pads). Tilda has Sakura clear glitter gel pen in her hair and since this photo was taken I have added some "Star Dust" Stickles to her wings.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 22 "Sentiment Only"

This week over on the Penny Black Saturday Challenge Blog we have been challenged to use only a sentiment stamp on our cards. I have used one of my only PB sentiment stamps, together with some Prima Marketing patterned papers called "Peaches" that I got at Ally Pally from Scrap Revolution. The papers are fab, and almost cardstock weight, they also include cut out papers. The card has been made from 4 different sheets from the 6x6 pad. background is one, the stripe is from the second, the frame is from the third and the flowers were cut from the fourth sheet and I have raised some of them on 3D foam pads...they even have a sheet with Panda's on....and I have the matching Panda stamp too.

Anyway, check out the blog as the DT have produced some gorgeous cards.

Sketch Saturday - Sketch #24

This week over on Sketch Saturday the lovely DT has come up with another fab sketch. For my card I have used one of the new Magnolia Santa collection and the "silent night" background stamp (I used the masking technique again). Santa has been coloured with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Ruby/Black/Metallic Gold (Santa Suit)
Black (Boots)
Cool Grey 2 (Gift Sack)
Ruby/Holly/Forest Green/Metallic Gold (Parcels)
I have used some Core-dinations cardstock for matting and DCWV 6x6 christmas paper pad. One the main image I turned the corner over and secured with a green heart pin. I also used some American Craft velvet ribbon, Prima Blossoms with a PaperMania glitter brad and a spacer bead, finished off all over with some Sakura clear glitter gel pen. On the sentiment and the main image I added some Versa Magic chalk ink in "wheat" to soften the harshness of the white cardstock, and to make it look like aged music score.

Thanks ladies, such a fab sketch.

Friday Sketchers - Sketch 27 by Kristine of Norway

Over on Friday Sketchers this week there is a fab sketch provided by Kristine from Norway, and as always some gorgeous DT cards to inspire you.

For my card I have used the new Magnolia Tilda as Lucia stap that I received on Thursday. I have coloured her with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Pastel Yellow/Mustard/Gold (Hair)
Blush (Wreath in hair)
Ruby (Sash around waist)
Gold (Flame of candle)
Pastel Blue (Shadow)
I have also added some cool grey 1 highlights to the white dress, and Sakura clear glitter gel pen on her hair and the flame of the candle. I also used the big "Silent Night" background having masked Tilda before I stamped it. The card I used was Stampin' Up Choc Chip, and the patterned paper is from the DCWV 6x6 paper pad. To embellish the card I added three layers ofPrima Blossoms attached with a brad and spacer, and added some Sakura clear glitter gel pen to make it sparkle. The ribbon is also by Stampin' Up and is the Choc Chip Taffeta, with a gold heart pin through it with an added tag that I punched with a new punch I bought by Woodware. Finally I added a sentiment from Studio G "Merry Christmas, and the "Angel" is from a mini set by Woodware, and also gently inked the background of the stamped image with Versa Magic chalk ink in "wheat", as the white cardstock was just too white and stood out too much.

I am really pleased with how it turned out, and I am loving that "Silent Night" background stamp....

Santa is Coming...

My new Santa Collection stamps by Magnolia arrived from Sir Stampalot yesterday and I just couldn't resist inking them up to make this card. I have used the masking technique to create the background (Silent Night Background) and coloured Santa with ProMarkers using the following colours...
Ivory/Blush (Skin)
Ruby (Santa Suit)
Black (Boots)
Metallic Gold (Belt Buckle)
Amethyst/Aubergine/Gold (Parcels)
Cool Grey 2 (Sack)
I have used a Versa Magic Chalk Ink in "wheat" to soften the white of the card I stamped onto, and to age it a little. The papers I used are all from a DCWV 6x6 paper pad, and I have used the Stampin' Up spiral punch (notepad effect) on one of the pieces. I have finished off with some HobbyCraft 99p a reel ribbon (like American Craft) and added a red heart pin and tied a heart that says "Made with Love" that a dear friend let me have.....thanks Brummy Dutch Girl! Finally I added some Prima flowers with a brad and spacer and a little Sakura clear glitter gel pen for added sparkle and a sentiment also from Magnolia.

I really love this Santa stamp, I decided to only buy one from the range, and I am pleased with my choice. He is quite a large stamp, the piece of paper is about 4-4.5 inches square(ish), and the "Silent Night" background is gorgeous, and a great compliment to the Santa. I only got 3 stamps from the range....the background, the sentiment and the santa....how was that for restraint. I also got one of the Lucia stamps (Tilda as Lucia) and I have coloured her and will be making her into a card this evening.

A Gift for Laurelle

I made this cute little book as a gift for Marlene's youngest daughter, Laurelle. The book is a 10p smart price notepad from Asda covered in papers from Dream Street....and a touch of Doodlebug Grosgrain ribbon....and she loved it.
